No worries. As far as my low PB is concerned, I don't add salt to anything, and eat mostly fresh foods. Any added salt comes from processed foods. I almost keeled over this week what I was making "larb" (saw it on triple D) and saw that fish sauce as 1360 mgs in 1 TBL. Obscene!!!

Anyway, I have a cup of fiber one cereal (4 pts) for breakfast while I'm at work. An apple around 9 a.m., carrot sticks, a fiber one bar (2 pts), and a WW Aloha bar (3 pts) througout the day. Lunch is either a ham sandwich (4 pts total), or a can of Progresso light soup (3-5 lbs), so by dinner I've had 13-14 pts. I'm at 27 pts daily now, so for supper I may have fish tacos (2 lg burritos), butternut squash tostados, pizza (2 lg burritos), electric frying pan full of shredded potatoes/butternut squash/onions with a couple of fried eggs/bacon (or sometimes BBQ chicken & an ear of corn). Tonight is a large dish full of onions/mushrooms/carrots/parsnips/potatoes, seasoned with rosemary and sodium free broth. They're roasting now, then I'll slice some steak real thin and saute it for a sec in a "sprayed" pan, toss in the roasted veggies and add a couple of teaspoons of Smart Balance. Fills a platter for sure. Later I'll have some frozen blueberries and some cocoa almonds.

The Ole' Extreme Fiber burritos have only 1 pt and 15 grams of fiber each. For fish tacos I cut up some Tilapia and let it marinade with some chipotles in adobo sauce. I make coleslaw with shredded cabbage, a little stevia, FF Mayo and celery seed. Making fresh salsa with tomato/onion/cilantro and lime is a snap, so just put the coleslaw on the burrito, top with the (spray pan cooked) fish, and top with salsa. Way under 10 points, and you get two. Believe me, you'll be stuffed. I use the same burritos for pizza. Just bake a couple of them until dry, top with your low sodium pasta sauce, low sodium ham, onions, mushrooms, oz of 2% mozarella and you'll get 2 pizzas for 8 points. So many great ideas, but you have to wrap your brain around it. I even make ravioli with wonton wrappers. I fill some with a beet mixture, some with a pumpkin mixture, and top them with some freshly grated cheese and chopped walnuts. Merita light buns are only 2 points, some boca burgers are only 2 points, and 1/2 serving of Kellogs Cracker Chips (VERY good, VERY many, low points), so for 5 1/2 points you've got a burger and chips. Sometimes THAT is my snack. I swear I've never eaten so much, so this is no diet. It was just learning to eat right. If I have few points, then I'll do a stir fry with just a little protein. Mix 1/2 cup no sodium broth, 1TBL cornstarch, tsp chili sauce, ginger, oyster sauce (or light soy/teriaki sauce), and it gives your stir fry the same flavor you get in a restaurant. Mix spaghetti squash with your noodles, and you'll get twice as much. So many tricks.

Sorry I've written a book here, but I'm so passionate about this, and will be a Leader just to stay mentally focused. My ex's stroke was my "ah-ha" moment, and it's like the blinders came off and I finally GET it. Let me know if I can' help in any way. I want everyone to feel as good as I do. Take care.

One last thing, if you'd known me back in my lowcarb days, you'd know there's no question too personal. We have to share this information with each other. Who else can we ask? I even had a lowcarb meeting for Florida members from the board back in '02. So much fun to meet everyone with whom we correspond daily. We have a bond that can't be broken, so ask away!

Dobie.. I thank you so much...I really really really appreciate the help...I love roasted veggies OMG that sounds awesome!!! I also discovered that I love fresh green beans stir fried with potato.. it's a good way for me to have some potato and not go overboard as I generally do....

I was on another support board for low carb, as I said I did very well from 404 to 279....then weight loss just ceased and stopped...no matter what the heck I did.. when I would asked for suggestions.. OMG I was literally lectured about how I should be following the 2002 Atkins to the letter and a stall is 6 months or more and still no help.. but in the meantime, the moderators were Private Messaging me, saying, they had the same problem.. they literally had to switch plans.. but not say anything in public...that they had to pretend to still be on low carb...and idiot me wasted another year on low carb, with nothing but weight gains.. my 279 became 340...

I am disappointed that low carb didn't see me thru to the entire weight loss...I just wished I could find an honest discussion on why it just stopped..and like I said I am not the only one it has happened to either..

I am enjoying being back on WW.. and WW really does help me with portion control...it helps me to see what a correct amount is.. I didn't get to 404, from eating the correct portions...my problem is I let stress and life issues get to me and I reach for food...

You have given me such wonderful ideas.. and it's funny because I was thinking of trying those Won Ton wrappers, I saw it on Hungry Girl show on Food Network...

Was your Ex on low carb??? I put my hubs on a lower carb diet plan, cause his blood sugar with meds went up to 253 and I had to do something...he does eat bread and fruit, it's not a strict low carb..

Anyway again I thank you so much...very much...

No, ex ate anything/everything. Please, don't hesitate to email me with any questions. Lowcarb works, but I don't believe that it's sustainable. I'm no longer on a diet, and feel I've just learned how to eat the way "normal" people eat. I may only lose .5 a week, but I'm not suffering and I feel full (not deprived). I know I used to say that lowcarb was a lifestyle change, but that wasn't true. It was a DIET and would have an end. Not dieting but instead eating consciously and with thought, is a way to achieve better health with weight loss being a side effect, not the "goal"

heya Wishbone.. Good Luck on your weigh in!!!

I too, love new recipes....love it...I saw one for a dessert...it was a box of angel food cake mix and a large can of crushed pineapple..mix the two and bake....however the WW recipes, with any cake mix and a can of soda, has never ever worked for me...

Anyway I believe the pineapple cake makes 12 servings at 4 points each...for me now being at 44 points, I could afford that...and it would be great for my family as well...

Happy Halloween! Let's stay out of the candy. My husband bought a ton and when I looked it up - yikes - those points could really add up.

Tomorrow is weigh-in so I need to be good.

Between being trapped in the house during Sandy and some work stress, I have been doing a lot of emotional eating. I am dreading weigh in tomorrow, but worse than that is that I have really been trying hard to stop dealing with emotions by eating. And since Friday I have been failing massively. I am back on plan today - food-wise, exercise-wise, and I am tracking again, but the last week was a hot mess.

Does anyone have any thoughts about how to change the habit of eating out of sadness or stress? Nothing I have ever tried (drinking water, taking a bath, leaving the house, finding an activity to do with my hands, writing about the feelings, etc.) has worked for me.

Murray - I would ask your leader for more suggestions. Thinking about my choices and making sure they are point-worthy (to me) were my key. I don't want to go back "THERE". Drinking water never helped me. I'd say knowing you have the problem is the first step to fixing it - you just need to figure out your trigger. Some days are harder than others but I have to say this has gotten easier (I started in Feb). Now, food isn't my go-to anymore (not sure how it happened but I know that exercise has really helped me).

Hang in there.

My first weigh in saw a loss of 8 pounds !!!! I am thrilled !!!

Tho there are a lot of issues I also need to address...

eating because of emotions is a HUGE TRAP for me also.
I like that whole hand/mouth movement I guess. Grapes seems to have helped me lately. Like a "mindless munching" episode. I guess I have to keep the "mind" on what I munch on in the first place.

Thanks, Ladies. I think I should probably go to therapy to solve the emotional eating thing!

I am up 2.6 today. My goal for the week is to track every morsel and eat very cleanly. Essentially, I need to get back in action before 2.6 becomes 26. Been there, done that.

Bon weekend!

Wishbone -- wow - great job! Murray - good luck today.

I had weigh-in yesterday - back down 1lb I gained last week. So, I have to be really good this week because next weekend I'm starting out on Thursday night with friends for Mexican food (my downfall) and then going out of town for the weekend. So, no exercise Thurs-Sunday - yikes! And eatting/drinking - again, yikes! So - this weekend / week I MUST be good. I will be good. I'm going to exercise too. The holidays are coming - that's always difficult for me (all my favorite parties/food).

Everyone have a nice weekend.

5 lbs is a gift from the Gods...insofar as u deviated.

accept the gift, and don't get cocky. sometimes good news on the scale can be insidious. We think we can deviate again and get away with it. I have deviated myself (more than once)to over 100 lb regain in the past. Tonight, i am left with enough points for 3 pork chops (i get 59 points, down 1 from 60). However, i am going to slice 1 pork chop very thin and add it to my stirfry which incl broccoli florets, mushrooms, celery, and ONE portion of al dente DREAMFIELDS pasta. It should seem like there is more, theoretically. we shall see. It will all be anointed in a MEASURED QUANTITY of butter/garlic sauce. Love & Profits: FLATFERENGHI

Trust me FF I am not cocky....not at 326.8 pounds....I truly am my own worst enemy...I haven't a thing to be cocky about...I have lost and regained so much weight that at one time I was up to 409 pounds..your dinner sounds awesome.

Crazyone, I think that 5 pounds is awesome. I would take that anyday. I would be jumping for joy, shouting hoo-rah, etc. I probably would not be even be able to stand myself, because I would be...oh yeah, look at me, 5 pounds whoopee!
Enjoy the loss.

Crazyone - great job. Isn't it wonderful to get on the scale and get that type of news. It helped me to keep going. Even if every week isn't the same result - it's not a race - it's a jouney to getting healthy. I loved the feeling of that acheivement each week. So when you're stressed/bored - first think of that feeling you just had before you start to eat.

i had a great week as regards enforcing good eating behaviors

and some exercise. Another 5.4 lbs lighter. I would have been just as pleased, even if the scale was not as generous. If I am doing what is right, the #s WILL come down over time. Meanwhile, I am enjoying the plan, even the tracking part. So, now I am 331.6 (it is just a #) FF

I just gotta say.....I am AMAZED at the volume of food available on this plan. I have NOT ONCE even considering eating "off plan"....and as soon as wrap my head around the fact that there is NO OFF PLAN FOODS...THAT YOU JUST GOTTA COUNT THE POINTS....that you can indulge and still NOT BE HUNGRY at the end of the day due to fruits and vegetables....I mean...

Lovin' this

scale dropped considerably this week.

no, i did not lose weight, but i dropped the food scale on my foot ouch!!! No, seriously I DID drop another 5.4 lbs. It won't always be that way, but i am reveling in it while I may. If we work our plans every day, the #s will take care of themselves IN TIME!!! FF
