Big congrats to everyone who is losing and everyone who is trying desperately to stay on plan despite stress, gross weather, and everything else. It's a marathon, not a sprint, right?

Which reminds me, I read an inspiring running shoe ad the other day, and as silly as it sounds, it resounded with me and I think it applies to both my food and exercise programs: "You aren't competing against anyone else. You are competing against the voice in your head that is telling you to stop."
Definitely need a 'like' button for this.

Strange as it seems - today I had my normal appetite back too. I sure hope that doesn't happen again. I have weigh in tomorrow and so far I've been up almost 3 lbs this week. Seems strange but I also haven't been drinking all my water and I'm still not 100% after my cold/cough.

I have sons!!! Enough said. Just went through this 2 years ago and have another son that is a junior. Our school counselor met with every parent/student to go over options. Ask your son if he minds if you set up an appointment for the 2 of you. It's ok - stop stressing - it's only applications. He should check his top picks and look at their website for scholarship information (it's there but you have to look around). I think it's early to do that - you need to be accepted and get your letter/package first. In some cases the out of state schools will offer you enough money to make it comparable to in-state. And you'll have to apply for financial aid after the 1st of the year (do it early) and schools will base the offer from the aid information (even if you don't think you qualify).

Down 4 on weigh day. It's good to be going in the right direction! Keeping things simple really works for me.

Happy weekend!

Ok, I had one of those aha moments this morning...I have finally figured out the kind of eating plan that I want to do or at least try. Instead of calling it a WW/LC , I would say a low carb with a twist . Basically, it would be pretty much LC with the allowance of maybe 1 fruit a day and either brown rice or potato 1 - 2 times a week, and maybe 2 - 4 drinks on the weekends. Also maybe a lower fat protein shake/smoothie on some mornings or Atkins shake or bar. I do remember someone saying that on higher carb days to drop the fat content, so I will do that. So, what do you all think? Do you think that this is a do-able plan with successful weight loss? I think that I am not as hungry on LC, so maybe that will help with portions and frequency of eating. Remember, I a, 4'11" and only have around 20-25 pounds to lose. Thanks for your input.

Intersting idea - so are you not going to count pts? I would that might be too hard with LC only. I have been having more carbs lately then I started with and I notice that my weight loss has pretty much stopped. I am going to try lower carb this week to see what happens. I really ate too many bananas last week. So, you might be on to something. For me - I need to count those points - I think that is the key to my success (it helped keep me honest with my portions).

Hey....where did everybody go? Hope you all had a great weekend. I would say that I stayed pretty much close to my plan. Always room for improvement though!!

Anyway, Hockeymom - as far as counting....there is a person on the main lobby page that tracks with 2 columns, 1-wwpp 2-carbs, I'm thinking maybe doing it this way to start. My goal is to not have to count anything (yeah, right), but to just "know" what works for me as far as calories, fat, carbs, and proteins go. I do know that I don't want to get caught up in having to track "percentages" that seem to be very popular with lc. Even though I feel (for now) that lower carb is healthier, I want to go on record, since I am a woman, that I do have the perogative to change my mind. If in the end, this plan does not work for me, I will probably go back doing strictly weight watchers simply filling technique and forgetting the whole low carb thingy.

Anyway....wishing success for all this week. Keep posting gals.

Rotay - got it - I think you may be on to something. I think I need to start watching carbs a little closer too. I stayed on plan this weekend but .. I had higher carbs and I feel bloated, have cravings, and feel a little yucky. So...you may be right - I've got to get rid of the cravings that carbs brings me - that causes me to eat too much. So, points are important but also counting/watching carbs.

Not sure where everyone else is .... but hoping everyone is having a good week too.

Hey Ladies - I mostly stick to lean protein, all veggies, fruit, olive oil, non-fat Greek yogurt, full fat cheese, and nuts. Processed carbs, potatoes and corn are not part of my daily diet, and when I have them on the weekend it is is in very very limited amounts in social settings. I just cannot handle them. I guess what I do is not considered LC because I do eat higher carb veggies and fruits, but neither of those sets me off into an eating frenzy like bread or chips.

I posted this on the main page thread, but decided to include here so that you all could see my plan for the day.

B - 2 medium eggs fried in coconut oil
Sn - medium apple
L - Mexican restaurant salad w/lettuce, tomato, bacon, chicken, avacado, ranch
D - 4 oz n.y. strip (leftover) with yellow & zucchini squash & onion mixture fried in CO.

Now I'm thinking that I might should have went with a spray of Pam this morning instead of CO, we'll see.

How's your day looking?

I'm having the usual:

B: NF Greek yogurt, apple, 1/2 oz almonds, coffee
S: 2 HB eggs
L: ammmaaaaaaazing salad of spinach, roasted beets, steamed butternut, green peppers, grape tomatoes, red onions, mushrooms, 1/2 oz blue cheese, mustard vinaigrette
S: an orange
D: 1 link chicken sausage, probably another big salad exactly like at lunch because it was so so good

I think this leaves me with a few points to play with, so I will probably have some nuts before my bootcamp.

Starting WW while on HCG

I know this may sound a little crazy to be doing both but I am very close to my goal weight and wanted to have the WW info to maintain my goal weight. I have also convinced DH to join with me since he also needs to lose weight and I think WW is the best diet for him long term.

Is it possible to stay LC while on WW since this has been the best way I have lost weight - (down 78lbs)?

wow - 78 lbs. Good job! I can only speak for me - I did LC years ago - felt great but just couldn't do without fruit/occasional bread/stuff. So, the weight came back on. Since February, with our company paying and everyone joining, I thought I'd try WW. I love it - you can still do mostly LC and watch your points. I think WW is a way of life that is just easy to do / live with long term. For me - I have to watch the carbs or I get carried away and have total cravings/eat too much crap. So - can you do both - sure you can.

So, for those that have been successful in doing WW and low-carb, do you go over your points?

Good Morning everyone...

Congrats to the losers!!

I have been pretty bad and of course gained back my weight and then some, not walking not counting my points, not even taking my water pill I am supposed to take.. so I have to right this ship now...I certainly get enough points, to keep me satisfied.. I don't know what the heck is wrong with me.. it's the same old self sabotage.. you know I love myself I don't hate myself...I would have to really do something horrible to hate myself, but I wonder with all that I put myself thru weight wise, if I really do love and respect me...anyway, putting my fat foot down and starting fresh today...!!!
