[QUOTE=loreleileigh; I think in the long run this will be better for me, though, because it will allow me to eat the way I want to for the rest of my life, even if it means I lose a little slower. I'm ok with that.

I love that some of you post your meals. That is also helpful to me to get good ideas.

Lore - I think this statement pretty much describes the conclusion that most of us have come to.

Last night for dinner

grilled ground beef patty 10pt
swiss cheese 3pt
mushrooms 0pt

on the side I had a salad I made inspired from the Macedonian festival I went to. It was a mixture of different chopped peppers (bell and mild), cucumber, red onion, celery and tomato.

Dessert was a Fiber One brownie 2 points. I have found I like them cold. So I keep mine in the fridge.

Today for breakfast

Egg whites 1 pt
swiss cheese 2pt
mushrooms leftover from last night 0 pt

Iced Coffee 5 pt

This has been a hard week but I'm hanging in there. I always have a gain with TOM of 3-5 lbs and right now I'm miserable. Tomorrow is weigh in and I'm sure there will be a gain over last week. Between watching the Olympics and having major cramps, I've been quite the couch potato this week. After work today my goal is to do 60 minutes on the treadmill, and I'm drinking water like crazy trying to get rid of some of this water weight.

B- egg beaters with green pepper and mushrooms and olive oil on light bread toast, peach.
L- grilled tuna, yogurt, grapes
D- Not sure yet, forgot to pull something out of the freezer.

Ugh, Cathy, I totally am the same. I usually gain between 3-6 pounds during TOM, it sucks. Mine is coming so I am not really losing right now either, which is frustrating. I just keep telling myself that if I can stay even during TOM that will mean I am really losing and once it is over, I should see a drop. But it is depressing when you work hard all week and either don't lose or "gain".

Hang in there and just keep trying to tell yourself it isn't "real" weight and it will go away

Well, I probably blew any chance I had for a loss tomorrow at lunch. We had a goodbye lunch for one of my coworkers, and I did well with the actual meal, but I couldn't resist having a piece of cake after. Well, I should say, I could have resisted but I chose not to because I love cake and I don't get to indulge in it that often.

Anyway, I've been kind of keeping track this week and I probably wasn't going to lose much anyway. I figure with the transition from Atkins induction to this, the loss wasn't going to be great. But my body will adjust, and I am going to get back on track. I've learned a lot this past week about what I should be doing to make this easier on myself, so hopefully next week will be better on the loss front.

Sorry - I've been away this week with work and planning for my cruise. We leave on Sunday but wanted to give a quick shout out to everyone since it's been a while since I posted. Had a good couple of weeks - eating, exercising. Lost again this week 1.2 lbs - so I'm feeling good. Next week - well - cruise=yummy food/drinking=yikes! I'll be back and hop back on plan. I so wanted to be at my goal today and I was!!! But, I didn't let her announce it to my group because I know I'll gain on vacation and then it will take me a while to lose it. Now that I'm so close to losing a total of 30 lbs - I think I still have more to go....

The hardest part will be maintenance - but this is my new way of life. I don't think it will be hard to stay on plan. We have our WW leader for the rest of the year coming to our at-work meetings so weighing in every week will be the huge plus.

Well - off I go to watch the Olympics and pack / plan for my trip. See everyone in a little over a week.

Today I ate out a lot but did not do bad. I stayed within my point range.

B: Rice Chex with almond milk, strawberries 4pt
L: 1 cheese pupusa 6pt and 1 small steak soft taco 5pt
D: half a cuban sandwich (other half is in fridge for lunch tomorrow. OMG it is the best sandwich I have ever had, so glad I found this place today) 14pt
Snack: Aldi's Greek yogurt 3pt and 1 package of Aldi's S'more flavored crisps 2pt, coffee 1 pt

Total 35, and I get 35 a day.

When I moved from more of an Atkins to WW, it took a good 2 weeks before the weight to start coming off.

One piece of cake is not going to make you gain weight. Now 10 pieces will. lol

Lisa, oh, bummer, we don't have Aldi's out here, at least not that I have ever seen. Thanks though for the idea, I will maybe look around Ralph's or Albertson's and see if they have something similar.

Hockeymom, congrats on getting to goal! That's awesome. Have a great time on your cruise!

Lore, hang in there!

Today was ok, still wanting to eat bad stuff, but have been able to refrain.

B: coffee, SF creamer (1pt), 4 turkey sausages (4pts)
L: Green Giant broccoli in cheese sauce (4pts), strawberries (0pts)
D: 10 Costco meatballs with hot sauce (14pts)
D: SF Fudgesicle (1pt)

24 out of 26 pts

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow! Yeah, friday

Weigh in today was not good, up over a pound. Sometimes being a woman sucks. Hopefully next week will be a lot better with TOM out of the way.

Only walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes yesterday so I will try and get in an hour tonight. This weekend will be a busy one, going to the lake with our canoe tomorrow and then helping host a baby shower on Sunday.

B: Breakfast sandwich with egg beaters, peppers, mushrooms, 2% cheese and Sara Lee delightful bread, grapes

L: Grilled tuna(we got some fresh at the coast and its fantastic), light mayo, grapes, and yogurt.

D: BBQ chicken and brocoli.

S: baby carrots, WW fudge bar.

Well, I managed to lose 2.2 lbs!

I'm pretty happy about that. I've been fluctuating up and down a lot since starting and stopping Atkins, so I might have gained it all back by tomorrow, but still.

I was a little bad today again at the Chinese buffet. We need to stop having stuff going on at work, because I have no willpower. This weekend I have nothing going on, so it will be easy to get back on track. When I get bored and feel like eating, I will take a nap instead.

I hope everyone is having a good Friday and has a great weekend.

Have a great day all.
I wonder if I should re-join WW online so I can track actual points? I'm using the fat secret app and tracking calories, but I think it would be easier in the points world?

Awesome, Lore! KUTGW! Great job, Rotay, a pound is a pound, as long as it is going down, that is what matters.

I did horrible yesterday (friday) I ate my 26 pts, plus 37 of my weeklies (ugh).

So I had WI today and was down .8, which I probably should be thankful for with the horrible day before.

Back on track today and will post my daily food in a bit. Hope everyone is doing well.

I don't get why the ww database over values beef.

If you break it down based on the NI for a 4 oz FM

Nutrition Facts
Calories 202
Total Fat 7.4g
Total Carbs. 0g
Dietary Fiber 0g
Protein 31.7g

And plug those numbers into the point plus calculator you only get 5 points.

I would go with the 5 too. Because what about people who do not subscribe to ww online and do not have access to the database. Those people use the nutritional info and it calculates out to 5 points.

I have found ww likes to really over value beef. That is why I tend to find the NI for what I am eating, then run the numbers through the calculator to get the point value than rely upon the ww database.

Thanks guys, I have noticed that too on some things. If I have the nutrition info available, I usually add it myself from the calculator to make sure it's right. But I didn't do that with the beef, I just went with what it said in the database. I will have to look at things closer.

I did horrible again today. I don't know if it is hormones or what, but I couldnt stop eating today. I am going to have to work out a lot to counterbalance it this week and be really strict for the rest of the week. I ate all 26 pts for the day, plus 27 weeklies, ugh. Not good, not good.

I have to work on finding things that I can eat that are low carb and stay within my points. I think I am eating too many things that trigger cravings and then I can't stop eating. That is the one thing I really like about low carb - I never think about food. It seems since I switched over I think about it all the time. I am going to have to experiment a little his week and see what I can do to remedy that issue.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Adiasmc, don't forget to flush with water. Also try looking at the SFT plan, you can have more protein, which might help with staying more low carb and help with those cravings????

I always mess up on the weekends by consuming too much lite beer. It is bad for WW, LC, calorie counting and probably all other diets as well. Gotta get a grip. Ok, it is Monday, let's focus and get it together. We gotta shape up. I will be going to the gym today to do the cardio workout that my pt gave me, I hope that's can do it on my own. I am still sore in the back and side area from doing ripped on Saturday. We did an exercise where you hold resistance bands behind your head, then bend to the right, then center, then left several times and boy I can sure tell that those muscles haven't been used in a very long time.
So far...
B - coffee with h/h, 1 slice sugar free bread and 1/4 co egg beaters

Have a good day!

Thanks, Rotay, I just got out my big bottle of water. I think part of it, and I wasn't thinking about this until this morning, is that I am on-call right now. That basically means that on top of my regular shift, for a week, I have to answer all phone calls and respond to all emergencies 24/7, so I get very little sleep. Whenever I sleep poorly, I make really bad food decisions and have horrible cravings. So I think between my hormones and lack of sleep, it is not helping.

Not that any of that is a good excuse, it's not, so I will just need to be super vigilant this week. I am off call on wednesday morning at 6 am when I come into work, then I am not on again until the 22nd. So hopefully, if I can keep it together for the next few days, it will be easier - at least until the 22nd

Hope everyone has a great day!

Adias - sorry about the on-call thingy. I agree with you it is sometimes a little harder when we feel sleep deprived. I can say on a weekly basis that there are at least a couple of nights that I do not get adequate sleep, then the next day you kinda feel like that you need to keep something (usually carbs) going into your system for energy. I am having a day like that today...I'm just so tired.

Uggggh, this weekend was a hot mess. I had too much booze and too much food. Even hardcore exercise did not balance it out. I need to get a grip on my social eating and drinking. Apparently PLANNING on one glass of champagne does not help me stop after that glass.

So I am back in the saddle - eating cleanly and headed to bootcamp soon. I shall drink water and think about how to do better next weekend.

Sigh.
