Hi All, just touching base. I wonder- If I have descended into a contact PV day schedule- and at a total standstill- do you think I should do a few days of attack to start again? thanks all, and here some spring!

Great work paranoid! When in Jan did you start? 8-10 pounds a month is a very reasonable goal for months 3 and 4. Hope your body keep co-operating.
Lenise, your zooming along too. Keep up the good work. Last edited by stilldews; 03-06-2012 at 05:01 AM.. |

Purrcy's mom, have you tried upping your walking? I know that is one of the things Dukan mentions in the book to do. Can't remember what else he mentions. But I do think he says about doing some PP days. Do you have your book? If not, I'll look it up later.
Paranoid, way to go!! You're doing fantastic!! Our stats are similar, though it has taken me a while to get to this point. Congratulations!! 195.6 today! Down another .2 pounds! |

I started the Dukan diet on 1-1-12. I get really excited each morning when I see the scales go down and they go down it seams all week until the weekend --sometimes it rises slightly then because I tend to eat MORE than I need but always "on diet"
Good to know that 8 (or even 10) is possible in the 3rd month... I have a business trip this month so it could be harded to lose that week but hopefully the rest of the weeks I'll see good results. I have a trip in June planned and I'd really like to reach my TW by them....dukan site said it would be a month later. |

I don't think doing two or three PP days would hurt. All you can do is try and see. Each of our bodies is different. And it might just be enough to shake it up for you.

PurrcysMom, I agree that a few days of PP and more walking would most likely get you back into losing. This week had proved to me that exercise really is important. It has been warmer here and I've taken Ella for 3 long walks of an hour each and worked in the yard raking up old leaves for 6 hour yesterday. Almost fell off the scale in shock this morning. 148.4!! First time I've seen the 140s in about 27 years. That means 4 pounds off last week after only losing 3 in all of Feb. Doing 6 PV, 1 PP a week with a chocolate/coconut oil treat most days. No fruit or chia seeds this week, no reward meal and it payed off. All I can really say is stick with Dukan guys! This was week 28 for me and to see 4 more pounds drop makes it all so worth while.

Was just checking in on another site that I weigh in on Weds and realised I've lost exactly 50 pounds since starting Dukan. Here are some of my weigh ins since then.
8/24/11=198.4 8/31/11-191.2 9/14/11=189.2 9/21/11=185.8 10/5/11=180.8 10/19/11=177.2 11/09/11=173.8 11/23/11=167.4 12/7/11=167 12/21/11=161.6 1/3/12=158 1/25/12=155 2/8/12=153 2/22/12=151 3/7/12=148.4 If I can do this at 63 with a long long history of losing and gaining over and over, I know the rest of you can too. We are all different and lose at different rates but it really can be done. Last edited by stilldews; 03-07-2012 at 06:26 AM.. |

PP days IMO are always in order. Great way to reset your metabolism & your mind! We are so glad to have you back with us!
I did a week and ended it with some days of fasting (I knew of some ladies having serious surgeries & fasting was in order) Also, my week was so crazy I didn't get my breakfat on most days til lunch (got my gazelle out ...with all the construction it has been put up... & all week did 30-45 mins) & had kids over the weekend-made soft shell tacos! OK I ate with them. This is the 1st time I went nowhere & actually UP a tad. But Yday & today within an hour I hit the eggs & I am back to 167 today. I won't mess my body up like that again! I felt miserable! Fast days are needed but I found out what a mess it makes in my bod...youngr years it never messed up metabolism because it WAS ALREADY messed up. SusanI would be envious but instead I will be for you! Such good news! I am so for you!Exercise is always in order & really gets everything moving! Feels good to be able togeton my gazelle again! I really missed having a place for it! 70° here today & the frogs are really loud! Must be happy the warm weather is here! Stark contrast from my sis in IA with 6° & snow/ice on the roads! Had appt for yearly physical & I just my NP! I will never see an MD again! She doesn't settle for "statis quo" but is willing to think outof the box! Small change in meds & I feel like a person today not a big bag of dust!Have a

I'm still on the attack phase, day 4. I need to lose about 70lbs so I'm wondering how long I need to stay on the attack phase. I was thinking 10 days, too long or short? Thanks for the inspiration, Monica Last edited by monicaphil; 03-08-2012 at 10:14 AM.. |

PS also- do you just sprinkle the chia seeds on salad and such, or do you prep it into its gelatinous state? I have a hard time with that... not sure how else to use them! |

You can calculate how long you need to be in Attack Hereand also find your True weight.
Calculate your true weight, calculate your ideal weight, personalized diet: subscription to Pierre Dukan diet for me, it was 3 days of attack. Staying in it too long will just make you lose slower the first few weeks of cruise. That's normal anyway but overdoing Attack makes it worse. Don't be disappointed if your weight pops up a litle once you start cruise. It will pop up and down, but eventually start going down regularly. I only lost 1/4 pound each of my first 2 weeks of cruise, then some weeks lost 3-4 pounds after that. Here is how I make my chocolate coconut treat. 1 sq Ghiradelli unsweetened baking chocolate or 1 small piece unsweetened Baker's chocolate. 1.5 TB pure coconut oil 1/2 cap full peppermint extract or vanilla extract 2 oz of Greek yougurt or fat free cream cheese 2 pkg Stevia and 2 pkg Splenda Melt the chocolate and the coconut oil by cooking 1 minute in the microwave. Stir in the sweetener and extract, then the yogurt or cream cheese. Stir with a fork until well mixed. I then put it in the freezer about 20 minutes or until set. The chocolate is very bitter so it takes at least 4 pkg sweetener. You might want to experiment with how much you need. EVen with 4 pkg it is still bitter, but sure cures my sweet craving. You can also make it without the creamcheese or yogurt. I have also made it with a TB of cream and using chocolate raspberry flavored stevia. Cherry, raspberry or orange extracts can also be used. 100% dark chocolate cocoa powder can be used too. I think about 1 to 1.5 TB is what I used once when I was out of the baking chocolate. The chia seeds are fine just sprinkled on salads or in soups or casseroles. I like to grind them in a coffee grinder and use them for cereal along with the oat bran. They don't seem so gelled like that way. Last edited by stilldews; 03-08-2012 at 10:37 PM.. |

Here's an interesting link with some information on Vit Ds role in weight loss. The very last sentence may help explain why the Dukan Diet seems to work better than Atkins for some of us. Click thanks but no thanks is a different page shows up first. Then the article shows up.
Burn Fat Faster with Vitamin D | Men's Health I take 4000 Units of vit D daily and will be interested in seeing what my D level is when I get blood work done later this month. Last edited by stilldews; 03-09-2012 at 11:17 PM.. |

I don't think it would be too much. As long as your kidneys are working OK, any extra should just be excreated. Studies are showing many of us really need more Vit D. Probably a good idea to get it checked once a year if you take the larger doses.
