Made it to WW tonight. The good news - I lost 3.4 pounds! Yay! The bad news - I forgot to take the groceries in the house before I went to the meeting! Fortunately, we had a cool day today and the meeting was short so the WW ice cream didn't melt too bad! LOL!

Where is everybody????

Nikki, I love that profile picture! You are looking good!

I had some really bad news yesterday about a friend who took her life. We are all in shock and disbelief and sad. It was all I could do to keep from turning to a box of cookies or a plate of pasta. I am an emotional eater and this one was hard.

Thankfully, so far at least - I am staying on my plan. Gaining those 3.4 lbs back will really not ease the pain and loss and certainly won't bring my friend back. Her memory deserves better than that. So do I.

On a somewhat more positive note, our meeting last night was led by the young woman who will lead our Saturday meetings when they resume over here on my side of the river. She is a school teacher and did an amazing job. I can't wait to start my Saturday tradition again.

I hope everyone is having a good autumnal Tuesday. It's beautiful here and is a reminder that God is good.

Patty, I'm so sorry about your friend. It's so hard to lose someone that way, but you're right. Eating something off plan isn't going to bring her back. But it can be tough.

Nikki, you're looking great! Nice picture! One of these days, I'll get brave enough to post mine.

Turbotex, wow! You're doing fantastic!

Patty, I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I'm proud of you for not turning to food.

So far I have lost 55 lbs. Here is my before pic taken on Christmas Eve 2011

And here is the pic my son took of me Sunday morning before church.

Per my last post in the September thread if anyone wants to know how to calculate the secret of the PP just send me a PM. Er I mean. I know nothing. shhh. Main thing I dislike about the official calculator is it doesn.t give you percentages of points. Normally this wouldnt be too bad, but I used to take say a couple of artichoke hearts. 2 quarters are 1 point. So if you ate 8 of them that would be 4 points. No... that would actually end up being 2. *shrug* It does go both ways though, if somethings 1.4 points it rounds down to 1 point. And you may end up eatting a lot more if your consuming 10 of something... end up at 10 points vs what is really 14.

... sorry for all the math I was a code monkey in another life. ;X

Taco Bell tacos are 4 points??? (thud!) Wow. You really CAN make just about any food work with WW, can't you!? Good to know, Lancer!

Good job on the 1.2, Nikki!

Have a great Friday & weekend, gang. I'm off work tomorrow, will watch the Oklahoma Sooners trample the Texas longhorns on Saturday, and then busy at church most of the day on Sunday. So I'll see you on Monday!

Nikki - love, love, love the pics! So encouraging and boy do I need encouraging!

Last week was hard with my friend being laid to rest. So many emotions, so many questions left unanswered. But her family, especially her girls, are amazing and we have all gained strength from them and their faith and courage to go on.

Then the weekend brought more stress: 5-family carport sale at my house; my great niece was put in the hospital, and the father of another close friend lost his battle with cancer. Needless to say, I didn't do well counting points and just did the best I could.

But it is Monday morning and a beautiful autumnal day and I am counting points with a vengeance. I didn't make a killing at the carport sale, but I got rid of a lot of stuff!

Shari - that is an awesome number! Good job!

Taco Bell tacos? blech! LOL!

Have a great week everyone!

Hi everyone! I joined WW Points+ in April, had slow but steady success throughout the summer, and then in August went to just regular old calorie counting. Sure enough, I found it harder to control, and my weight crept up a couple of pounds, so I hurried back to WW and am sticking to the plan again!

For online peeps: Is anyone else having trouble loading the plan manager right now? I really want to track my workout and lunch food today, but it keeps freezing and giving me errors.

I think they're expecting you to search their database for any foods when you track them, and it will tell you if it's zero points or not. I know most vegetables and all fruits are zero points, but beyond that, something is probably only zero if it's a small enough serving.

I also found this, but I can't vouch for how accurate it is - I just found it with a google search

That thundering sound you hear is me jumping up and down for joy! They will begin having WW meetings on Saturday morning here across the river where my journey began on January 8th! I am soooo excited!

Oh and I would like to share this little "aha" moment with ya'll: today I realize that I don't need a plate of bacon (though I could eat every bit of it) to get my "bacon and eggs" fix. One single piece of real bacon, not turkey thankyoubutnothankyouverymuch, with my boiled egg does the trick. Just breaking it down in little bites is sufficient.

I've definitely come a long way baby!

Doe, I heard yesterday that the WW on line stuff was having a temper tantrum of some kind! LOL! Only in Cyberspace! Though I am not an on-line member, I was having trouble logging on to their website. By the by, welcome back - I missed you!

Dasiey, welcome aboard! I enjoy the meetings. Most of the people here in my inner circle do not, however. It's kind of lonely going to the meetings without a buddy. But I have met some interesting people and learned a boat load of information that keeps me grounded. Good luck to you on your journey!

WTG, Patty--on the meeting location AND on the bacon realization. You HAVE come a long way, so pat yourself on the back!

Sorry you missed the game, Nikki, but it was one serious Bevo beatdown. The Sooner Nation is riding high this week. Just hope we can make it through the season undefeated. I LOVE college football!!

Welcome aboard, Dasiey and Doeskin! Glad to have you with us!

Yep, the WW online was kaput last night. Haven't tried it yet this morning, but it's a serious bummer if it's still down. I had to drag out the pen & paper last night to figure out my dinner. Ugh!!

Weigh-in day is Wednesday. I'm a bit worried after my big loss last week. I tend to go up & down with little stalls in the middle. Hoping this PointsPlus thing will keep that to a minimum.

Another observation......I am "feeling" this loss differently than I do with LC. Does anybody else notice that, or am I just crazy? Maybe because it's coming off slower. Or maybe because it's been so long since I lost weight, I can't remember how it's supposed to feel!! Just something I'm watching to see if there are clues as to how it's working for me. I suppose I should just rely on the scale, but I like that "feeling" of losing.

Well, have a great day, all! Got a ton of work to do today...Be back tomorrow.

Thanks Patty and SHinOK! It feels great to be back!

SH, I think I know what you mean about the loss "feeling" different - I think it's because it comes off slower. With Atkins, when I'd lose 2 or more pounds a week, I would always look for changes in my body immediately, but with WW it's more like 1 lb a week for me, so I take it easier and notice the changes as they come. Enjoy it!

The website is still down, this is so frustrating! My guess is that they finally switched everything over to PointsPlus, to where you can't do any of the old programs online anymore, but they're having issues with it. I guess I'll track everything in Livestrong for now...

The WW website is back up, woohoo! The most annoying part of the outage was that they never sent out and email or even posted a page on their site saying they had technical difficulties, so for a while I didn't know if it was just me or what

what kinds of foods were you eating? I'm curious to know what you can and can't have. I was at a thanksgiving dinner last week and one of the ladies was on ww, she had some stuffing and then later found out that the stuffing was 15 pts, more than half of her points for the entire day! I would be hungry if I could only eat tiny amounts of food. I'm concerned that if I tried ww I would be hungry all the time.

well i have not been hungry at all. And some days I don't eat all my points. Most veggies and fruits are 0 points.
My hubby had a pecan pie and 1/8 of the pie was 13 points so I passed on it. But I eat what ever. just count my points.
