WHITE CHILI CHICKEN
I just can't let this recipe die in the thread! It is tremendous! I made it again with Milk Kefir & home-cultered Greek yogurt. I used a whole organic chicken, pulled the meat off to cook & used the skin/bones for broth so I could control salt. I skimmed the fat... THIS TOTALLY ROCKS! ![]() Stilldews gave us such a ![]() ![]() One thing though - I CAN'T EAT IT ANYMORE! ![]() I had a painful reaction with my muscles (they have Fobromyalgia but I refuse to own it) hurting intensley. When I was on my second go round I was reading on Foods for Fibromyalgia FB oage that nightshades (like green chilis) can set off a full blown episode. Wish I had read that 1st but then I would not have known how it is. My son is low carb-just juicing 6 days & PP on 7th so he said he would be happy to take it off my hands. to see something so good go. I am going to hang on to a small pint & in 6 weeks after no nightshades I will try it again & see what happens. But eat up it is good for the ![]() tastes better than but not as good as a 16oz !!!Quote:

still struggling here. I can't wrap my head around it. Seems likes my days are great and then the night comes. These crazy hours are killing me.
I have been really streesed about retirering for good. I told my family I would get done in Oct.,but I am having a hard time winding down. I cut my hours ,then they start calling and my hours are back up. I am even over my 40 hr limit next week. I will keep trying . Turkey sauage so far today. ![]() Happy to see so many new ladies. Becky glad your back down . Teresa I bet it feels great to be doing so well. I would love to get into a smaller size. I know that would just give me the incentive I need. Sorry I haven't addressed every one., but my concentration is not good lately. Heck I didn't even know I was working tonight until my son reminded me,and here DH was trying to get me to go to the casino. No days off until next Monday morn. Oh Well. Grandkids are here so I better get crackin.

WTG Becky!!!!!!
![]() Spyder I love BL. I think this will be a good season. I am liking everyone so far.....except the one who got voted off. Was strange to see the ex football player crying after 10 min. of exercise! How did he ever play football??? Granted he didn't weigh 450 lbs back then but still...an athlete is an athlete and I'm sure he's done plenty of exercise in his time I didn't like the new guy trainer's method of training. He comes off sounding like a drill sergeant! And the new gal is too soft on them lol. They both need to find a happy medium lol. Felt bad for the older lady who only lost 4 pounds. I hope she does better next week.

Sinny we were posting at the same time. Sorry you are struggling so with this. It is hard I will admit. Any dieting is hard. I am probably the world's most unsuccessful dieter but I just keep trying. It's all we can do. Hang in there!

Becky you are living the dream, retired, OMG I cant wait, and I got a long way to go, like til I am 90, and finally finish paying for plastic surgery, LOL
BL- OMG I was an emotional wreck, I so know how those people felt, and darn it that is some kick ass exercise, you know they are dying after not moving, level 20 on the elliptical, I cant imagine 8 hours of intese workouts, I do 90 minutes and I am dead, I cant imagine 5 times that!!! No wonder they lose 37 pounds holy crap! I almost died could you imagine getting on the scale and seeing 37 pounds gone in 7 days, that has to make them proceed, although then next week will be a hard weigh in, I am liking Anna and the new guy, it should be interesting, how about running the marathon and then you are automatically in the finale? Pretty cool, but damn, when I run I think 3 miles is like from here to Egypt, I cant imagine 26!!!!!

Hi Cindy- you say the nights are the rough time. I agree wholeheartedly! We are left to our own devices at night. Have you tried prepping lots of goodies to have handy in place of bad ones at night? try that cheesecake- that has been my savior so far- if you don't have the recipe let me know...it is pure protein, and man, it sure makes life a lot less painful.
Turkey bacon is a nother savior- slightly salty, low in fat... yummy. Just microwave a few slices and voila! Have yourself a turkey bacon and tomato lettuce wrap - just as a snack! I drive everyone nuts at work, nuking my turkey bacon every day at about 10:30 as my mid morning snack- they all come in sniffing- what smells so good in here? Makes me feel like, yay, I am having something good and being envied for a change, LOL! ![]() PS never apologize for not adressing everyone- we are all in this together- I get on rarely and when i do scramble to play catch up and no one ever reprimands me, LOL- PSS: so glad to see little Elvis on here. that rocks! ![]() Quote:

Man I am dead my trainer is on crack or something, then my son says its running night he said I was pathetic, I did 1.5 miles after the training, I feel like I got hit by a truck tonight, but I got one section cleaned out of clothes, 3 trash bags, man I couldnt believe the size of some of that stuff even stuff I got in early spring, that made me feel good like this darn 'e" is worth it! |

Thanks for your input everyone....I came to the realization the next day that the scale doesn't matter. I am staying the course...in 1he 10 days i've been low carbing...my blood sugars have dropped over 100-150 points....that is how I know it is working and that is what really matters.... I had started to see the 250's and 300's.....it was 121 today. So I am happy about that. I think I will buy a new scale one of these days and see if I can start again with the weigh ins.
One of the things that I'm having a problem with is constipation....have only gone twice in like 11 days even with softeners.... I bought a different one today and I will see if that helps. If not, I may resort to two pieces of sugar free candy....ROFL. |

Helen I hear ya on the bathroom issue. It was a real problem for me at first too. It gets better after adding veggies. Are you including oat bran every day? I take magnesium every night and did resort to a stool softener just once and it did the trick. Be sure and drink lots of water too.
That is wonderful about your blood sugar readings ![]() |

Blondey- yes dont let the scale dictate your successes lowering your blood sugar is a huge testimony. You know I had really bad psoriasis and chronic ear infections, knock on wood but in this year of low carb I have not had one flare up of psoriasis or an ear infection, I was constantly on antibiotics and in pain, so it is funny what all diet can fix, and I am trying to look at that as well. Junk carbs are just that, junk, and reserved for rare and special treats, eating that crap daily does nothing good for us.
Iam- You go!!! OM gosh what a great feeling for you, you are such an inspiration!!!!! |

Morning ladies! Down some today and I'm back on track hard core today ( well until tomorrow night.... I have a cooking class) then back on track. lol
Blondey- I use the scale to help keep me motivated and aware of what I'm eating, but there are times it never moves. When the scale is not moving the inches are. Great work on the blood sugar. There are about 10 or so Dukan slow cooker recipes on one of those other sites yall may want to try. |

If you do look at the site be carefull as I am looking through some of the recipes I don't think we can really have some of the items. For example one has 1/3c. low sodium teriyaki marinade (like Kikkoman’s) we can't have that right? When I think teriyaki I think sugar. What do yall think?

Down to 198.5 feels so good to be back to the lowest. Even though I have not been feeling this blasted dieting and have had some blips Dukie still loves me.
faithful you go girl I am going out to dinner with my dd next Monday and I will be eating some bad foods but life is too short (esp. in our 60's).spyder in the past when I have looked at the recipes I have thought the same thing. Many ingredients I won't use even the corn starch they often use. I have a few times used light soy sauce though. Actually lite soy sauce, splenda, minced garlic and onion with a little l/c ketchup makes a tasty marinade.

The seal sama brand teriyaki they sell on here is soooooooooooooo good, I use that it is low carb, and way less than regular, I have 6 bottles I loved it so much, it makes a great a marinade, in fact why didnt I think of that, I moved all the LC stuff down to the basement, I need to look through that shelf more often I bet there is some good stuff I could eat!

Becky, enjoy the noght out & use care but don't make bad choices make wise ones! My DD is taking me out Fri & I am going to get the biggest strak in the menu! A little salad & my downfall all the hot rolls I can handle! I figure the big steak
will off set the rolls.. ![]() Sat night is is dinner out with the whole family - these 2 nights out are the only ones in the year. It is at a Pizza place so the thin crust on the buffet will do well. I can eat my eggs & kefir all day. Today I broke down & went to Subway for the egg 12 inch. Making 3 meals out of it! NO NOT CELEBRATING just hungry & too tired to open a jar.I have dieted for 40 years and realize if someone finds what is right for them they should stick with it. BUT if it ever comes to the point where occasionally you feel like you can't just go have fun once in a while & enjoy your life while getting healthy & losing weight then it is too strict and you will be in a bondage - the same kind that put you in an unhealthy condition. So, go out to the ball game & have a hot dog or eat that Birthday cake every now and then..... Just not as a regular habit! I am so proud of every ounce lost here! Remember when the scale goes down one day a lot then bounces back up the next IT IS NOT FAT Just keep going & don't stress- it will go back down! ![]() ![]() Went shopping UGH! hate this. But it was pleasant & I shopped the sale racks. Bought pant sized 10 (yes I couldn't believe it!) & 12 & had to go to petite for long pants-my legs are thinner & the legs hang longer now. I am set for a while cause I bought Med sweats while I was there. Don't mind "clown style" pants but not for an outin' with the kids! Feels so weird! My flabby tummy & ribcage still looks like ne but the girls & the leegs & arms don't look like my body anymore! It is so nice to have you ladies to share things with! I don't have anyone else that cheers me on... You touch my heart! |

In Oct I will get my Labs & will see if the A1C goes down, not to ment cholesterol BP etc. I kicked all my meds but my thyroid & pain RX in August. Will see if I have improved! No worry- I do this occasionally to see if I can get off things. Dropped my BP Rx in June and when I check it- ALWAYS GOOD! Thanks for letting me share! BTW- has anyone used Braggs Liquid Aminos insteas of soy sauce? Very similar in taste & so healthy cause you are getting your amino acids! Last edited by iamfaithful; 09-22-2011 at 11:15 AM.. |

You know what I weighed this morning? 206, I was 201 on Monday and had the most grueling workout of my life and then ran last night, I was like are you freaking kidding me, and then I thought, its OK, its just water, it will come back down I think when I really push myself hard my muscles fill back up, like my disgusting veins were really puffy this morning! I went shopping at lunch, I got 6 sweater dresses, 2 pairs of totally rocking boots, a sweater, a one arm- purple paisley wild dress and a totally rocking leopard skirt for $200 at Dots I love that store!!! More boots I could pork into!!!! I love me some boots!!!! I think I got plenty of cool clothes ow for Vegas, now its deciding what to take! |
