Has anyone noticed that this diet has very few portable foods? I was just looking through my old order history with netrition and found these Dukan-friendly and portable items:

Ostrim ostrich meat snack sticks
3% Fat, 1% Carbs
Ostrim Jerkee
2% Fat, 1% Carbs
Ostrim Natural Turkey Snack
4% Fat, 1% Carbs

If you scroll down each of these pages, you can see the nutritional label itself.

Apparently, I really liked the Ostrim meat snack sticks, Pepper flavor, and ordered 5 x 10-packs over a period of several months. I'll have to put some of these on my list of things to order next time.

Lurker here

Can I join you?

I have been doing DUKAN since Monday and have had pretty good success! I have been in the Attack phase and eating 0% yogurt, ff cottage cheese, chicken breast, tuna and egg whites.

I do so much better when I watch the amount of fat I eat. I have done Atkins, PP, Stillmans, South Beach, etc....... I get bored easily and can get off track. I am sure hoping this may be the plan for me.

I don't have a lot to lose - I just need help keeping my carb issues in check!

So far this week I started out at 157 - now at 149.8. I realize about 85% of that is water weight. But, I am happy to say at least I am back on track.

Now - Livinlo you have me curious - how does that ostrich jerky taste? Like chicken It looks like it would be perfectly portable and good for this plan. So, I am truly interested!!

Have a great day all - and by the way - I have enjoyed hearing your journeys through this new and exciting plan. I can't wait to be a true part.

I was wondering the same thing about ostrich. Never had it.

Welcome, msgirl!

Oh darn. Reading back over my post, I can see that I said I found all those items in my order history. Not so. I found only the "Ostrim ostrich meat snack sticks", Pepper flavor and BBQ flavor, in my order history. I added the other 2 links because I realized that Ostrim had added some new products since the last time I ordered.

Apparently I liked the Pepper flavor and ordered it several times. I ordered the BBQ flavor only once.

As I recall, the taste was just a spicy meat taste, maybe similar to a meaty sausage-type taste. I don't remember that it tasted very different or unusual.

Ostrich tastes like very lean beef, it is delicious and these snacks are so good, my gym sells them, as I recall I like the pepper flavor the best and they are so good to throw in your purse for emergency, man thank you for reminding me of those, I have some here in my drawer, duh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Msgirl- wow that is super, congrats!!!!!

I've been popping in from time to time to see how everyone is doing....

Three days ago, I reached my True Weight!

I'm now 8 st 12 lbs (116lbs) which is my Wedding Day weight thirty years ago. The Dukan Diet has been absolutely marvellous for me. I really haven't felt hungry or deprived, but really positive!

I've been hauling things from the back of the wardrobe which I haven't fitted into for a long time. My favourite American white jeans, which, unbelievably are a "size 6"! I just love American sizing - wish I could wear them with the label showing! (I'm size 12 in English!)

So here goes with Consolidation. It's lovely to have fruit again, but somehow, Dukan has re-educated my appetite. I can have two slices of bread/day, a piece of cheese, pasta twice a week - but strangely enough, I haven't really wanted them! It's weird!

Lots of love to all.

Did you stall out or have issues?

Do you eat much dairy?

Ooh, thank you! How kind.

Dairy... thinks.... enough skimmed milk for a few cups of tea and coffee, several tablespoonfuls yoghurt to make a dressing, sometimes a small pot cottage cheese. I didn't like Quark very much. It's been a bit of an adjustment to have fat-free or low fat foods, as I really really love rich and creamy tastes. So actually I suppose that's not a lot of dairy. I'm planning to be a bit rash tonight and make a skimmed milk-and-sweetener mug of cocoa - wild living, or what?

When I got to 9 st 2-3lbs, I seemed to stagnate there for a bit. That's the weight where I always came to a halt with an Atkins WOE. I stopped weighing for a week, because I was getting annoyed with my lack of progress. I focussed on other things (or tried to!) Then, hooray, 9 stone! And then another 2lbs all of a sudden!

I've got really fond of oat-bran porridge at tea time! And it's nice to have less of a podgy face. But really, Bejewelme, I should dearly love to have a beautiful tan like you. Sensationally sun-kissed!

Heckie pooh no Phaedra! I can hardly send and receive calls on a cell phone let alone anything else. It is not a high tech one either and I don't even own a digital camera!!

Had hb egg and leftover italian mix stuff so far. I need to drink my water. Not sure what's for dinner. I did go buy 4 flat iron steaks today so I need to divide them up into portions and get them in the freezer. Feelin so lazy and tired today. My excuse for not cleaning this pit up

Thanks for the welcome!

MISS - Wow!!! Can you share some of your menus? Your success is amazing. How did you eat your veggies on PV days?

I just finished off my day with my first PV day ever - been doing PP for 4.5 days and hubby wanted to go out so I decided to do some Veggies.

Today's meals:

0%fat plain Greek Yogurt .5 tb. of oat bran

(All of the below is supper at a buffet:blush::blush:)
small sirloin (all fat trimmed)
slice of roast beef (trimmed)
slice of ham (trimmed)
Green beans
salad (no cheese, croutons, carrots) - vinegar for dressing
small piece of grilled chicken

I hope that didn't mess me up too bad!!! I tried to be super conscientious and since I didn't eat lunch maybe that could cover for two meals

Now, I am so stuffed!!!!

Maybe some decaf coffee later.

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Hey all!!! Did better today, but ended up having some veggies tonight. My aunt brought a fresh tomato from her garden, and it was SOOOO good! I did a piece of lettuce, thin slice of tomato and bacon -- NO bread!!! Had three of those and some scrambled eggs for dinner. Yogurt for dessert!! Water consumption was down today. Drank more diet soda than I like to. I'll get another 24 oz glass of water in tonight before bed.

MissA -- is that 26 pounds you lost?? Not sure if I figured it out right or not. How long did it take?? Congratulations on the loss! Glad it worked for you!!

Sounds like everyone is doing well!! Keep on plan!!

Wonderful job!!! No you don't want my tan, I just got in trouble for my tanning, 2 biopsies, one abnormal, got 30 stitches in my leg, I am so depressed, I love the sun! I hate dermatologists!!!! You know as soon as I read this line, about you got frustrated and stopped weighing? Someone just told me that, that I am stressing myself out too much trying to get to a goal, just to ease up, maybe go back to my combo of atkins and dukan and wait, now that you say that I think that is good advice!!!!Congrats to you I remember you had a big event coming? A wedding or reunion to attend? See on this diet, I love dairy that is probably what hinders me!!!

Becky you are going to be there before Vegas!!!

I went to hour long spinning class my legs are still so sore from Thursday night I can hardly sit down on the toilet I that would help stretch them out, OMG now I feel worse!!! I was talking to some peeps at the gym, the recommended a good place here where the owner is really into fitness and working out and he does nutrional counseling, I might go and talk to him today and see what he says, so far I had egg whites, ff cheese and a protein shake after class. My company has a big softball game against a customer today and there will be lots of food I am going to try to keep it low fat, I was 210 this morning, 2 pounds I gotta be happy with so far, tomorrow I am alone and going to the gym for mega routine and then running, maybe that will burn something!!

Finally, and perhaps most interestingly, the Heart Attack Grill is scheduled to open at Neonopolis by the end of the year. The restaurant specializes in high-calorie food and actual uses that as a marketing tactic. They warn that "Side effects" from eating their food "may include sudden weight gain, repeated increase in wardrobe size, back pain, male breast growth, loss of sexual partners, lung cancer, liver sclerosis, stroke and an inability to see your penis. In some cases, mild death may occur."

Among the menu options are a Quadruple Bypass Burger that has four beef patties, cheese, and fixings that amount to more than 8,000 calories. They boast that their shakes have the highest butterfat content in the world. Their fries are cooked in pure lard and they also sell cigarettes, candy, and beer. If you weigh more than 350 pounds, you eat for free.

Hi everyone I also started the Dukan Diet on Monday. I did 5 days of Attack and today was my first Cruise day

I didn't weigh myself on Monday because it was TTOM but I had weighed myself the previous week before TTOM and figure I started out about 148. By Thursday I was 142.6 Friday 142.8 Saturday 142.6 So I'm looking for advice, ladies I realize that I've still had a great loss for my first week (which technically isn't even over yet), but I'm concerned about the stall over the past few days, especially so early in the diet and without having introduced veggies yet.

I have about 10 more pounds to lose to get to my true weight (134-ish).

A typical PP day is chicken breast (seasoned with McCormick Montreal
Garlic & Herb Chicken Seasoning), cold shrimp (like a shrimp cocktail but no sauce), grilled burger (96% lean hamburg), hard boiled eggs (sometimes with, sometimes without the yolk), and tuna (I think I had 2 cans in the last 5 days). For dairy I add a splash of FF milk to my coffee, usually have one FF plain Greek yogurt (Fage) a day, and one Dannon Light & Fit FF yogurt (no fruit added). That's it.

I am drinking a lot of water (in the bathroom a lot ) but also drink American Clear sparkling water (usually takes one or two days to drink a large one), and coffee. My coffee is very, very weak and I add Torani's SF Vanilla Syrup and Splenda to it, as well as to my Greek yogurt to make it tolerable .

As far as exercise, I really only exercised the first day (Monday) and I did a weight workout, not cardio.

Other than the lack of exercise, I feel like I am 100% on protoccol but if you see any areas I should tweak please, please let me know. After reading most of this thread I'm wondering if I should cut out dairy all together. I do intend to add exercise regularly but it will be easier when the kids are back in school and I have some "me" time. In the meantime I'm just fitting it in when I can.

I think I may be better off following Miss A's lead and not weigh every day...

Roscoe, I think you're doing fantastic! Let your body catch up with you. You don't have that much to lose, so it might not come off as fast. Someone else that doesn't have much to lose might have some ideas for you. Unfortunately I have lots to lose.

Taking my dd and bff to the movies this afternoon. ds and I are going to find something else to do.
