Just popping in to wish you all well on the meat and egg fast!

There is something about a meat and egg fast that makes you feel cleansed and balanced. This thread did wonders for me back in the fall of 2009; I'm happy to see it's been resurrected.

I've gained back several pounds and am now trying the Dukan diet which starts out very much like the meat and egg fast except that it limits eggs and fat and concentrates on pure proteins.

I'm finding it impossible to limit eggs since I'm accustomed to having several a day, every single day. I've cut back some on fat, but doggone it.. there is NO WAY I'm pulling the crispy skin off of a chicken and not eating it!

D4- no wieght change still 200
but considering I lost 6 lbs in 3 days I'm ok with it.
plus its probablly my fault went to the BRAND NEW organic market here in Abilene (hope it lasts!! we have vitamin stores, GNC's, and drug emporuims but no place you can get the stuff you can @ OM)
I bought
pure organic EVOO
Olive oil mayo made with cage free eggs
goat chedder cheese
farm fresh brown eggs
fresh ground peanut butter (no salt or sugar)
fresh ground almond butter (ditto)
(they were made while I stood there)
1 lb fresh churned butter
for DH
1 box of Annies Mac and cheese
1 Can of Wild Sardines in EVOO (how they diff from other canned sardines I dont know, but DH said they tasted better )

spent 28.00 and came out with a small box of stuff
I had planned to put the almond butter in the freezer til I could eat it later but ended up eating a big spoonful Soooo goood! and fresh!!

Ok so after a very bad date with Ben & Jerrys last night and a sugar hangover this morning, I am boiling a dozen eggs. My dad went shopping last night and bought 2 dozen , and I also picked up 2 dozen!

I however am HATING egg whites now!! Luckily the good part is the yolks. I love eating them as if I was making deviled eggs. I just put mayo and dill in and sometimes a little mustard. I saw Auntie Em doesn't eat the whites...anyone else?

Oops on the Ben and Jerry's, but good on you getting straight back on plan. I like the whites but if I'm sharing eggs with my 2 year old son then I only get the yolks because he doesn't like them.

Have a good day at work Shari!!

So broke the egg protein fast with sauteed kale yesterday and quite a few

diet (yuck) gin and tonics with friends yesterday for my bday. But no cake for meMy weight's holding at 149. The whole meat and egg thing works well at controlling my hunger. I'm now adding some greens for variety.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Ok I found my 1000mg of L-Glutamine capsules. However they have an exp date of 6/2010. I took 3 of them under my tongue(opened them up) so we will see if they still help with the sugar cravings!

I'm trying the Dukan Diet which starts out primarily as meat and eggs.

I'm down 8.2 lbs in 9 days!

Ok, so I know I was bloated up with water weight, but it still feels good to be moving in the right direction again. I don't have much to lose; just trying to get back to where I was last year before carb creep set in. I don't ever want to start blowing up again. It's just way to frustrating; and way to disheatening to have to bring back down.

Lurking here..Wave pass by.

I wish I could say I like eggs. It is a great and easy source for protein I know, but I guess I spent so many months eating eggs/meat/fat, I got a little tired of them.

I do eat a couple of eggs in the morning but it is all I can stomach.

Not sure I can do all eggs and protein, because I feel I must have at least one serving of veggies per day to keep things "regular" but definitely noticing that eggs are a great food, and boiled eggs are so portable! I try to have them at least 2 meals per day. My favorite is just hard boiled with mayo, mustard, salt and pepper. I can eat 2 or 3 at a time.

I am thinking of alternating this with tuna salad (just tuna and mayo) to see if it speeds up the loss...

Hi Mad'

Vegetable Oil is really horrible stuff. I would just stick to olive, butter and maybe Coconut oil

Good luck on your fat and meat fast!!

Hi, everyone! I am doing an egg/meat fast as well. Started back on it today sort of. I did have a protein shake and a small piece of cheese at lunch in with the eggs and meat for breakfast and dinner. Tomorrow will probably be eggs, eggs and more eggs.

Did really well on the meat and egg fast last night! Was skeptical it would work, but alas it did--down -.8/lb this morning. I'm not sure what my food is going to look like today since I will be mostly on the run, but I am sure I will find something to make it work! Going to keep doing this until the 5th I think.

Hello.
See that this is an old thread, but is anyone doing the eggfast? I am going to give it a try to get the 5# off that I recently gained by going completely out of control on my eating. I plan on doing it pretty strict with just a little salad to get things going and then will add more fat and meat. Maybe this will give me encouragement to get the scale moving in the right direction and stay on a good WOE. I am one of those people that want instant success
Today's menu:
B - eggs
L - egg salad with a little spinach
D - egg salad
Hope someone will decide to try this with me again.
Hope
