I have it. Looks like a decent plan. Nutritionally sound and all. I haven't decided if I'm going to do it or not, though.

I do know a lady who has lost 12 lbs in 11 days on it so far, though.

It's a bit similar. Its definitely more restrictive than South Beach though- esp. the first 17 days.

Just FYI - I got the book and the DVD and I am currently still reading the book - I used the DVD this morning - 17min ab cardio. It is more restrictive than SB but I think I need that right now and I am going to commit to do it BY THE BOOK - for 17 days. The ab workout is all standing abs and DEFINITELY cardio - I was sweating and I modified - alot! As far as the diet - he allows 2 fruits a day (none after 2pm) and most low carb veggies. The first 17 days he restricts the type of meats to mainly whites - turkey, chicken and fish. I don't see where you can have cheese at all, you can have 2 whole eggs a day and fats are limited to Olive Oil and something else - i can't remember....he discourages artificial sweetners and encourages you to get vitamins from whole foods not supplements. If you want to see how I do I will be journaling about it! I think 17 days is doable for me right now.

I have re started the diet. Yes you can have egg whites - I haven't seen where he mentions egg beaters but they are probably fine. When you order the book there is an option for just the book or the book & dvd. Oh and I got it in like 2 days. It is low fat - only 2T of olive oil or flax oil per day. Two fruits from a specific group - apples, grapefruit, grapes, berries...do not eat fruit after 2pm. You can also have two low fat yogurts or kefirs per day. No grains. Cleasing, green veggies - typical low carb ones. Unlimited protein - from his list - there is no beef - fish, chicken, turkey... Exercise 2 times per day for 17 min in the am and 17 min in the pm for the first stage. Later stages increase the exercise and increase your food choices.

Yes - he does allow carrots - and I ate some at dinner tonight! There may be a few other veggies allowed that you usually don't see on Atkins - I will re-read that part tonight. I will really miss my butter - which I much prefer to olive oil. I looked for the yakult he mentioned and although I know I used to see it at WalMart, now that I can have it I don't see it anymore?...

I'm restarting today. I tried it before and lost 7lbs in 7 days. My ex lost almost 30lbs in 30 days but he's a man so... His transformation is what made me want to try it.

Question: I didn't know we're suppose to exercise twice a day? I thought it was for at least 17min/day but if you can do more then certainly do so. I've been averaging around 20-30 min on the treadmill..depending on time in AM. I don't have the book I read his for a weekend but plan to order soon...

OK; I am going to start this on Monday. According to this schedule, I will be starting Cycle 3 Day 1 the day I leave for Italy. Since this is the most liberal of the plans, not counting maintenance, I should be OK. When I get back, it will be time to start Cycle 1 Day 1 again if I don't make my goal within the first three cycles (or 51 days).

I've officially 'pledged' myself to start this on Monday. Somehow the timing of the 3 primary cycles worked out with my work/life/vacation schedule. I've read thru Cycle 1 several times, made my shopping list and worked out a food plan. I have been easing into the diet by drinking the lemon water and green tea. Eating the 2 probiotics a day isn't a problem since I've been eating greek yogurt and cottage cheese on most days. I am not a big beef eater to begin with so limiting the proteins to chicken/turkey breast, ground lean turkey and fish shouldn't be too much of an issue. Maybe this will shake things up a bit. My scale has been stuck at 178.5 for almost a week; however, I do feel that my body is changing shape and belly fat is less.

Walmart is now selling the book.
How is it going for those that are doing it.? Is there a website that is in book for people that are doing it and need buddies? That would be a good thing.

Good morning ladies, sorry I posted and forgot to come back but TOM came and kinda derailed me...I caved after having cravings then got back on, lost weight and gained again from the bloat! So I decided to just go with the flow (not cheat, but not all low fat either..more low carbish) until TOM subsides. It's heading out the door..good riddance...so I'm ready to re-commit again. Starting fresh today all low-fat and on plan. The one thing I kept up with is exercising..loving it again. I don't have the book but borrowed it for the weekend from my ex and wrote down some pointers.
