Welcome to our group!

I am on C1D11. Regular cottage cheese is not allowed until Cycle 3, but you can have cottage cheese with active culture. I've checked all the brands in my area in several stores and the only one that I know of is Breakstone's LiveActive and I think it only comes in the 4 oz/4 pack. If you find another brand, please post!

Read somewhere else that there is a brand called Knudsens, which is sold "out west" that also has probiotics.

Good Morning!

Day 5 Cycle 1...................Just when I think I can't do this first cycle anymore cause I crave more variety w/ my meats. I hop on scale and I'm down another 1 lb.

Sipping my hot water w/ lemon. Planning on scrambled egg w/ peppers, mushroom, splash of hot sauce.

Lunch will be leftover chicken w/ mushrooms maybe cut up over greens.

Have snacks of fruit and yogurt.
Water, water everywhere.

Have a great Friday!

Saw my dd's kindergarten teacher (last year) carrying around her 17-day diet book this morning. She told me that she lost weight but she hadn't had an (italian pastry) this morning because she forgot her breakfast (forgot the name of it! Yes, 10 days! I told her she only had 7 more days to go. We didn't have much time to talk but I guess she's found the stuff here.

Ok, today I had a little bit more time too "shop"...dh was off from work and watched our babies.

I found the 4-pack of breakstone's cottage cheese 2% milk small curd AND Arla Cultura Shots ~ balances your stomach with 3 probiotic cultures. 30 billion probiotics per shot ... is this OK? It has 0,4% fat. 100 mx x's 4 = 400 ml

Good morning ladies, I changed things up a bit yesterday. After lurking on the other board I saw people were losing fine eating different types of yogurt so I decided to try Dannon Lit & Fit yogurt plus I added a new dressing with higher fat but made with extra virgin olive oil. I'm down another pound today! I'm trying not to become scale obsessed again so I won't weigh again until Sunday.

So are you saying she's been eating a pastry for breakfast and still losing? This diet is becoming more and more popular...because it works! Never heard of the cultura shots but from the ingredients I don't see why it wouldn't work.

No, she made it to 10 days and had the pastry because she had forgotten her breakfast. She had 7days to go before moving to the next phase. she said that she has too start all over again.

i can't read the back of the label in foreign language.

I have a couple of questions about the diet which the book doesnt' answer:

1. Green tea--do we drink it because of its antioxidents or because there is some chemistry with the food?

2. Zucchini/green or yellow/summer squash--not allowed until Cycle 3, but starchier squashes are allowed on Cycle 2. Zucchini or summer squash are low in calories and low on the glycemic index. Has anyone read anything about this? I am wondering if it is a mistake in the book--thoughts?

Dr. A really does a good job of explaining the chemistry and science of low carb/high fat, but Dr. M doesn't cover low carb/low fat too well.

LOL, thanks! You're a busy mom so I wouldn't worry if it's going to be out of your way. It's not like it hurts us...just more time for detoxing. Enjoy your show and book.

Dr. A really does a good job of explaining the chemistry and science of low carb/high fat, but Dr. M doesn't cover low carb/low fat too well.

Question 1: I believe it's for both. It certainly gets my stomach rumbling more when I drink it so I think it definitely helps with absorption of the combo of food. I drank it all the time when doing other plans and it never did it before...
Good question regarding #2...I was just reading this question yesterday asked by someone on the other forum and didn't open the thread up to see what other people posted. Maybe I can look it up again and if I find the answer I'll post it here.

Hi every one.
I see we are all holding on and learning as we go.
I just had my green tea. 10th day o pop.
My friend that just got the book and was reading. She just came back from Dr.and told him that she was reading a book> That said Red grapes were ok to have.
He said he was surprise on that for Grapes have alot of sugar.

It seems to me that cycle1 is to get our bodies clean and get rid of the sugars and bad carbs.
I do feel good. My husband likes this diet but he is losing .
.
I posted yesterday that i lost 1 1/2 lbs-Plus 1/2 before that.

2lbs in 9 days.
But* today got on scale and *gained the *2lbs i had off.
Im doing this by the bookeach day but what gives?
I still have till next Friday.
But then I know he saids to go to cycle2 but shouldI?/ Wont I gain ?
I exerice also.
Could this be water weight?
Why when i read that most are losing and Im not.
If I didnt have this site I might just stop.{ be i will keep at it.

You're right, we are learning everyday. I'm sorry you had a gain. Hang in there, we are with you one day at a time!!!!

I don't have any answers because I'm not doing the plan. I'm still reading and trying to find the foods that I need and today I think I have found the yogurt. I feel like crap tonight! My 7 y/o made pizza (white thin crust), dh and I had Breyer's icecream and we split a tube of mini M&M's. I'm going to learn from this and STILL hop on the scale tomorrow morning. I drank my hot lemon water and drinking my green tea. Yesterday, was even a bad day! PMSing I guess! I wish I was pg too stop these mood swings!! but I know that I will never have kids again.

Good Morning Ladies! Having a rainy day here.

Up a little bit today, need some bathroom action.

Already had my wakeup drink and am sipping on a Kefir shake with strawberries.

For lunch probably have leftover turkey chili minus beans maybe over greens for taco salad. Not a fan of ground turkey but with the spices not too bad.

Must do cleaning for Easter and make some cole slaw for tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great day and a Happy Easter!

I'm sorry you gained weight, how frustrating this must be for you! How are your clothes fitting? Are you losing a lot of inches instead? Sometimes when losing inches, the scale stays the same. Hope you have good news today.

Sorry yesterday was rough for you. PMS sucks! Good for you for getting back on the wagon and not staying off plan.

Hope you have some 'relief' soon..hate that feeling. Hope you have a great day as well and Happy Easter to you too!

No good finds at all except a crochet hat. Expensive runners were $40+ clothes, shoes were dirty. Selling kids books for $2 for 3 small level 3 readers. I did buy DD3 months old a crochet hat for $5 - score! She looked cute. DS - nothing. Dh - nothing. Then the stuff that was brand new they wanted original price for it. Bracelets were $170 - I wonder how everyone did? I didn't have time too get my stuff together... I don't know, but when i did a garage sale I was pricing brand new kids clothes for $2 -- new dvd's $5 - I didn't care; i wanted to just get rid of the stuff.

A young girl made beer/soda can ash trays. She said it can be used for coins, keys, etc... The edges were not sharp at all.
One lady walked up and said guess i have too start smoking to buy one of those.

I got my book today. I can tell it will be a good read. I am not sure if I will do it or not.
Maybe after vacation.
