SN--I am not fond of the hot lemon water and I started drinking it cold and it was much more tolerable. Congrats on the 2# loss. Tomorrow is my weigh in day and I am hoping to see a few #s gone.

Kind--Don't lose faith. Men always lose faster than women--what's wrong with us? Glad to hear that the diet is working for him.

Skinny days ahead for us--right!!!

I haven't been able to find the foods here needed or supplements -- searched a little last week so I started calorie counting on Monday until I can find the stuff needed to do this. I have been drinking my hot lemon water and green tea too see if it helps.

I'll keep checking in and I'm still reading my book.

Kaimi--I am not sure how much the probiotics play into weight loss. I read the chapter on maintenance and it is not as important in Cycle 4. I think the probiotics is just to get or keep your gut clean. I think drinking the lemon water and geen tea, and eating lean proteins and veggies are what's going to give a drop in #s for this plan. And, it's all about the calories too....

Right now, I'm doing 1200-1400 and 1500-1800 (for running days). I didn't eat 1800 yesterday -- I was really full. Trying to eat what the book suggests has helped me stay full. I miss my milk. I did drink a little less than 8 oz. last night before going to bed. I'm hoping for a drop! My 12's are tight. I want. out. of. the. 160's. and. i. keep. bouncing from 164-162. I've started running so we'll see what the scale says on Saturday.

I know one thing, probiotics help balance the flora and fauna in your digestive system. I was thinking of buying some Activia yogurt. (I don't do so well remembering to take my vitamins.)

I think most yogurt brands have active cultures. Along with plain Greek yogurt, I also buy Chobani fruit, and I have a stash of Dannon Carb Control--which is really good too.

We do have plain greek yogurt here. It's foreign language. can do translation, I'm sure. i had some last night w/ sugar-free choc. syrup w/ packet of splenda. I couldn't take it plain. i always eat the greek yogurt w/ honey. We DO have activia. Love it.

Hi everyone.
well I weigh in Wed. for week 1.{ Glad you are praying for me Kaimi.
If no weight loss, I will keep going for 17days.
But I have started writting down the cals.and going to weigh and measure food.Except salalds.{ To see how many cals.
Yesterday I had 750 cals.
But I was short on a yougrt and a fruit.{ Just could not get it in that day.
I also read {Think ] That if u can not eat all foods on days that is ok.
* I love Chobani. But we got for now plain yogurt by Dannon{Less sugar.
add berries&or 1 package turvia.{ That helps.
I think this hole plan is to clean out the bad. and get you to enjoy the fruits and more veggies. better healthier foods and to learn to stop eating at a point that is for you.
And get in 8 glasses of water.
Even with family here Sunday I plan to stay with it and keep going.{ Thats the plan.
Today is 7th.
Still no pop.
My freind got the book few days ago. She is going to do her own way and just take tips from book and use somethings.

Sweetpea I don't know if I would like cold lemon water either. I'll keep doing the hot. At least its only 1 cup per day.

Kaimi I know how you feel about being in the160's. I was doing Atkins again from Jan 3rd starting at 171.6 and it took me to the end of March to finally get in the 150's. I was getting so frustrated. I was exercising faithfully 6 days a week. Hang in there, it will happen.

I have to try and get another fruit in before 2. Had leftover fish and green beans for lunch. Not sure what I'm having for dinner.

I probably will be weighing everyday. I know I won't lose everyday and my weight will fluctuate but I'm too nosy.

Hello!

DH and I started this diet Friday, 04/15. So far I am down 5 pounds. I think DH is down 7 or so... men!

We have over 100 pounds to lose, each, so we will be on cycling all three rounds for awhile.

So far so good!

Menu today:

8 oz of hot water w/ lemon

Breakfast: 1 cup plan kefir, 1 cup berries, a heaping teaspoon of sf strawberry jam. Mix in blender for a smoothie I drink on the way to work (45 mins or so).

Lunch - Big salad with different veggies and chicken. I have the spritzer salad dressing, but I keep forgetting it at home and no fridge at work.
Pear
Lipton Diet Green Tea Mixed Berry

Dinner
Probably another chix breast with a veggie (broccoli or cauliflower or green beans)
Cottage Cheese with the Live active stuff
Diet Lipton Green Tea Mixed Berry

Water, water and more water.

We started going on walks, but the weather has been awful here. Might have to pull out the Wii and play on that tonight!

Welcome DaisyMarie! Congrats to you and the hubs for committing to losing weight and for being so successful on the 17 DD. Your menu looks good too! Keep the book handy and read it often. I find I learn something new each time I do. I need to read more on Cycle 2 since I am halfway thru Cycle 1. I hope to only do one rotation, but may have to go back to Cycle 1 after vacation!

hang in here, 7 days to go!

I was this morning and didn't want to drink my hot lemon water but I did. I need to make some green tea today.

LJB, thanks! I'm calorie counting and reading the 17 day diet book. WW made my head hurt and I gained last week even though I tracked and ran my butt off. My babies are 3 months old and my body is acting up so I'm trying something a little different this week. Eventually, will find something that will work for me after having these kids. I'm getting OLD too and it doesn't help.

shari, a month. don't tell me that. I'm not sure i can go through that for a month. i was 144.4 - 2008 and need/want to get back there!

I can't remember, are you going to quit the 17 day diet after your time is up and calorie count? or keep going w/ another 17 days?

I hope so. I'm bustin' my butt running now.

Yesterday,

1.5 miles; 22 minutes; 215 calories burned - babies are up from 33 minute nap had too quit.

Total: 2.0 miles = 28.5 miles *so far* ~ 33 minutes ~ 270 calories burned

Today,

Total: 2.3 miles; 30.8 miles *so far* ~ 38 minutes ~ 275 calories burned ~ had too step off once for babies.

Here it is D10 and 9 complete days on the plan.

I got on the scale this morning, looked at the number and got off, shook my head thinking I am still asleep....got back on the scale and it was the same number....drumroll please....172.5...down 5.5# from my official start of 178.0 and 6.5 from the beginning of the month. I would lose 7-8#s in a good month and there hasn't been very many of them. Needless to say, I am a happy camper today!

I will stay on this plan for the full 3 Cycles which will take me thru vacation to May 30. I will decide at that point, depending on how much weight I gain or don't gain, whether or not I will go back to Cycle 1 or go to maintenance. Goal weight as per doctor is 160.

WTG!!
