Not sure if I am going to weigh in tomorrow--I am lacking confidence in myself right now. Don't rely on a number on the scale. Do you have a size smaller pants that you used to wear? Try them on and see how they fit from time to time. I think this may be a better guage than the scale. Also, diet soda has a lot of sodium in it, so you may want to consider cutting back on that if you don't see a weight loss.

Oh, Sweetpea. I have** not had* Any diet pop. This is day* 4 with out.
Been doing it to the letter.so u would think something would come off. But my reg, weigh in is Wed. So time will tell.
I was hoping to see what u did with your first week.
But we are doing it.How do u like it so far?

Hi Ladies,

I've been lurking in this post and Shari's blog. I decided to take the plunge on Monday. I have to get some fruit at the store and a few other things. I would like to lose another 15 lbs. I lost 15 lbs since January. It was a very slow process this time around even with exercising. Old age doesn't help.


I just came back from a cruise and gained 3 lbs. Not too bad. The diet looks doable. I thought of doing Hhcg but I don't think I could be that restrictive.

The only problem is I can't find a free 17 day window. Next Sunday is Easter and I'm cooking. I bought the book at Walmarts yesterday. I read the first cycle. I have to see what he says about holidays.

We can do this!!

Good morning! Are you drinking the lemon water and the extra 7 8oz glasses? Maybe it takes more than 4 days to flush the sodium out of your body? Why don't you post what you've been eating?

I've decided to hold off weighing until Wednesday. It will give me 9 full days on the diet and then weigh in again on C2D1.

I'm down 2 pounds since April 2nd.

Kind, sorry you have not lost anything. I agree, cut back on the coke and see if that helps. pants smaller? etc.....keep writing down everything.

Welcome to our group!

Unfortunately I know about aging and slow weight loss! You did good on your cruise with only a 3# gain! Hope you had a great time.

I started the 17DD this past Monday and had to wait until I had a clear calendar; however, I did use this time to "ease" into the diet and found that I lost a pound in those few days. I started with drinking the morning lemon water and green tea with my meals--that was easy; then I iwent on to making sure I ate my 2 fruits before 2:00. The rest is just restricting your proteins to fish and chicken.

I have a blog going too--Sweetpea's 17 Day Diet Journey--come visit me! And yes!...we can do it!

It is a substitute for the probiotic component of the yogurt--the yogurt just happens to be the vehicle. If you don't like any of the probiotic foods or in your case, can't get them, then taking the supplement is fine--according to the book.

I am now worried about getting my foods in Italy. Are you in a major city? I will be travelling throughout the country and then to Paris. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Good morning ladies, hope everyone is doing well. I've lost 2lbs since starting Thursday, scale stayed the same today though. I didn't get my 2nd fruit in yesterday...I didn't eat breakfast until after 11 and I wasn't hungry around that time so I just left it off. Don't think that was a good thing...

Starrynite! Congrats on losing 15lbs before now. I'm sure the rest will come off doing the 17dd. How did you only gain only 3lbs on a cruise? I have one coming up and want to know the secret..lol. The only time I gained a small amount was when I hit the gym 5 out of a 7 day cruise...

I don't buy too much food out in the economy so I don't know what you're able to buy for this 17-diet plan. I buy my food at the commissary because my husband is in the service and we only have one. They are starting to get new items. I will check too see if we have the capsules here. Never know because I've never looked for them. I was shopping yesterday but had no time to "look" with a 7-year old.

Thanks, Kami! I know when I hit my cousin's house in Genoa that it will be a food fest. Her granddaughter told me that she is an excellent cook and cooks everyday for the whole family! Of course I will be polite and sample one (or two) of everything!! I remember Sunday family dinners and holidays when I was younger with the plates and plates of food, and the wine!!! Gotta love the Italian vino!!!

I was on a 10 day cruise and started the day with a big breakfast usually omelets, eggs benedict, eggs with bacon and always some kind of pastry or danish. Didn't usually have lunch but in afternoon had maybe ice cream, pizza, cookies, salad. Had usually a drink a day like pina coladas, white zinfandel, drink of day. We ate dinner at 8 pm. I did a lot of seafood but also some beef and veal. Always bread and dessert. So all in all I don't know how I got away with only 3 lbs. Did drink ice tea during the day. I didn't exercise at all. The women I was with could not do steps due to health reasons and I didn't want to do the steps alone. I kept wanting to walk the promenade but never got around to that. I was bad with exercise.

Congrats on all the weight losses! Sweetpea have a great trip!

Wow, Starrynite..you were lucky! I can gain anywhere from 6-10lbs easily... My last cruise my ankles were swollen because I was so bloated from eating everything..lol.

My dressing is 1T. flaxseed oil with 2T. balasamic vinegar{ No salt added.
I add no added sugar that he saids we can{,truvia, but getting some today to put in kefer.
Mu husband has been doing this too.
I know im not doing any thing wrong.on this.
I weigh in Wed. so few days left. maybe next week.
I will stay on this evn with Easter. {They can have all the goodies that go with.
I can still have white turkery breast. veggies{streamed and big salald.
Im aging very well.
I need to loose 31 lbs. That would bring me to a happy weight.and what i should weigh on a high end.
What i should weigh is 85-100, but first take it to 125, and see what dr. saids.
First thing first.
I got to get this moving down so i dont stop.
I will give this a full 17 days.{Like Dr. saids any one can do 17 days.
For me I think having this site helps.I like to see how you are doing .
I guesse Im the slow one.ha

I was amazed I was able to do it. I first went in LCF user control panel edit signature. Go under Option 1 and delete the part[http://www.] Then I opened a new window on my browser and went in the ticker factory and made my ticker. You then copy the second line that starts with [http://www] and ends with png. Don't copy the [img]. Then I went back to the edit signature option 1 and right clicked and pasted. Then at bottom hit save signature. Hope this makes sense. Cheri has a sticky on the PG how to do it. Let me know if you can do it.

Good Morning 17 dayers!

First day here.

Had my wakeup drink. Not too bad. I guess I'll get used to it.

Breakfast so far......................2 scrambled eggs w/ splash of hot sauce.
Going to make some green tea and figure out a fruit. Does anyone know how many red grapes is a serving? He doesn't say in the book.

Found some salad dressing from litehouse made with kefir. Might use that on salad for lunch with chicken.


Check back later. Might do Just Dance2 for exercise today.

Must do my laundry. Haven't unpacked yet from the cruise.

I think fruits like grapes or berries are 1 cup = 1 serving. I quickly looked in the book and didn't find it, but I do remember reading it somewhere. That is the guide I am using for fruits that need to be measured.

I will have to look for that salad dressing. I am going to mix plain yogurt with fresh salsa for tonight's salad dressing.

Good morning ladies, yesterday was a mild bump in the road..had toppings off one pizza but only gained 0.2oz so not too bad. Here's to clean eating!

Sweetpea~waiting until after Easter sounds like a great plan.

Starrynite~I'll have to look for that dressing too. So far, I've been using maple grove viniagrette dressing (fat free). It's not too bad. I'm excited to see how well you're going to do...

Kind~hope this week is better for you. I like your commitment and determination to not stray and stay on plan! It will pay off.

Thanks sweetpea on the grapes. I'm not much of a fruit eater. Citrus doesn't always agree with me although I had half a grapefruit for breakfast with some truvia.


to everyone! Just had some yogurt and trying to get some water in.

I did dance for half hour. Love the wii Just Dance 2.

Kefir with 1 cup frozen mixed berries.{ Makes drink thick
I even took yesterday laxative.[Worked]
So thinkingthat would clean me out and help with losing 1-2 lbs.
Weight still the same.O.
I do feel inside good and seems like belly is going down.
But I sure thought this dietwould be a good start for me.
I do mean that Im doing by the letter in the book.
So today Im writting down the calariesand just see where it comes out too.
Like this morning, Kefir with berries.8oz.180 cals.

Also I was reading that with one lady 17 didnt work for her eighter.{Thinkingage might have something to do with it.{She was older too.
I dont see how.I mean I know as we age it is harder to loose. But a calarie is a cal. and moving the body has to work.
I must say that when I get on scale and nothing.think Im doing on own. this sucks.
But I also think 17 days is not done yet.
So I will keep doing it like he saids.
But Im going to see how many cals for each meal.
or close to it.
I also have house to get cleaned. Glad to know you all are doing good.
Sweetpea, I know you will get your book soon.
I can not wait to see how u do with it.

4OZ. GRILLED CHICKEN BREAST ON BED OF SALALD GREENS, WITH TOMOES ECT.
AND 1T. DRESSING MADE WITH OILIVE OIL .WATER{LITTLE BIT }VINGER AND PACKAGE SEAONING.
AND GREEN TEA.
TONIGHT.fISH AND STEAMED VEGGIES.{TEA.

AND EVERY DAY 8 GLASSES OF WATER OR MORE.
mY HUSBAND AND I DOIONG THIS AND wE ARE DOING BY BOOK.
hE LOSS 7 1/2LBS.
i WILL KEEP GOING.
BUT HOPE IT WILL MOVE DOWN SOON.
bUT i WONT STOP.

Kind~your menu looks good and you're strictly on plan. I think you'll have a nice whoosh soon so I'm glad to see you're not giving up! Sometimes these pesky pounds don't wanna leave.... Congrats on giving up the diet soda!

WOE: 17 day diet
Couldn't finish my salad for lunch(greens w/chicken and hb egg) then an hour later I was starving. Had red grapes and then half hour starving again. Ate another yogurt. Just had flounder for dinner dipped in egg and parmesan browned in olive oil and green beans with a little salsa. Need to drink 1 more green tea and more water. Feel like I'm floating already.

See what the scale says tomorrow.


Kind you are lucky your husband is doing this, too. Its hard trying to cook for someone else that isn't doing it. I made extra chicken yesterday and didn't my DH take it for lunch. I thought it was going to last me a couple days.

Hi Starry.
Yes it makes it easier this way. In fact his idea.
Like I have said before doing it day by day and by the book.
Sure makes it easier to have recipes in there and also whay we are to eat.
Just got back from curves .later 17 mins on bike{ I think.
Going to back fish after husbands run.
I should start doing ab crushes. maybe tonight.
Hope this works for me.
If not this week ,maybe next, it better be big Loss.ha

Good Morning Ladies!


First day down..............2 lbs gone. Back to pre-cruise weight. 156.8..............like to be at least 145 or 140. Time will tell.


Just had my wakeup drink. YUMMO............NOT! Its funny I enjoy hot tea w/lemon. I am so used to making eggs w/ butter in pan and some kind of meat and cheese. Today I made some eggs w/ green pepper, onion and tsp of salsa. I guess I'll have the other half of grapefruit w/truvia.

Must go to store and get more chicken, veggies, and fruit.

As I toast my glass of water...............heres to success in losing everyone.

I'll check back later.
