Hello Ladies,
I still haven't received my book. Any day now. I am going grocery shopping this evening. Would anybody like to share their shopping list with me so I can go ahead and get my meals planned?

The book recommends using Truvia because it is "natural"

I don't remember seeing Pork being allowed on Cycle 1--fish and poultry only. Also no mention of feta cheese. You can have cottage cheese only if it has probiotics in it--like Breakstone LiveActive. Add lemons or lemon juice to your list.

Thanks Shari - I really appreciate it.
Question: I can't eat yogurt -- texture thing. Do I have to have 2 serving Probiotics?
The hot water with lemon- can I add splenda or Truvia?

If you like the texture of cottage cheese better, you can eat Breakstone LiveActive brand--it has probiotics in it.

I keep hearing about how good the soup is..maybe I can find it on the doctors' site(?) Is it basically a pot of 'free' veggies and meat with flavored broth?

Thanks!

The book suggests adding sugar free jam. I bought some blackberry jam but haven't used it yet. If you have some DaVinci syrups, you can use those since you are using Splenda.

Note: not all cottage cheese has probiotics in it--you need to read the label. Regular cottage cheese is not allowed until Cycle 3--I think.

I hope this helps!

[QUOTE=shari;14565044]I keep hearing about how good the soup is..maybe I can find it on the doctors' site(?) Is it basically a pot of 'free' veggies and meat with flavored broth?

Thanks!

I buy bag of mixed greens--kale, collard, turnip, and a bag of spinach; carrots, onions and celery, a box of fat free/low sodium vegetable broth, and a can of fire roasted chopped tomatoes. In a huge pot, I sort of sautee the carrots, onions and celery in about 1/2 inch of veggie broth, so they can soften and release their flavors. Then I add in the bag of greens and the bag of spinach, the rest of the box of veggie broth and the can of tomatoes, lower the heat and cover. Simmer until all is tender. If you want more liquid, you can add in more veggie stock, another can of tomatoes or some tomato juice (I have some spicy stuff from Whole Foods which is really good). You can also season it with whatever you fancy, but go light on the salt. Add in some tabasco too.

I need to go thru my recipes this weekend and come up with some new chicken dishes. I love fish, but can only hold it in the refrigerator for 2 days.

I have the hardcover version of the book.

In Chapt 3: Cycle 1: Accelerate, under General Guidelines for the Accelerate Cycle, p 41, #12 says exercise at least 17 minutes a day.

In Chapt 4: Cycle 2: Activate, under General Guidelines for the Activate Cycle, p 65, #11 says exercise at least 17 minutes a day.

In Chapt 5: Cycle 3: Achieve, under General Guidelines for the Activate Cycle, p 83, #11 says to begin to increase weekly aerobic exercise. 150-300 minutes per week or 5 30 minute sessions or 5 60 minute sessions.

I don't know when I'll start/if I do. I'm up a pound. and. I. didn't. even. run. yesterday. I wrote out my list Thursday for Friday shopping and didn't make it to the store. We were stuck in traffic for 45 min. -- wreck and our store closes at 7pm - if my butt was in the states, i would have been able to go to another grocery store. we only have one here!
I still have diet coke in the house and told dh that i don't know if i can go "detox" just yet on it. my friend told me to just get rid of it. easy for you too say. U haven't had it for well over 9+ months. i saw caffeine * in the book beside diet coke. still reading....the book tho.

I agree, any exercise is good and it certainly can't hurt to do it longer than 17 min..lol. Hope everyone have a great weekend!

Kind~I know what you mean about giving up something you love. For me, I crave fat..after doing LC in the past, it satisfies me more. But I keep telling myself that I can commit to 17 days...

Kaimi.
Today is day 4 for me and husband.
We had Kefir with 1 cup berries[Frozen,
That stuff is not the best.{ Berries helped.
I love coke Zoro. But like I have said have not had any.
Today will be 4th day to exerice. Will do bike 2 times today.
Boy today I almost threw the towel in.{ Still need help with it so i dont stop.
I got on scale and nothing.
But I will keep going for 17 days.
I do feel better and lighter.
I think that now after you had your Son that you will be able to pull the weight off pretty fast.
Just have to find what works for you.And move that body.
But with having house full kids u want to take nap.ha
Hope I can keep going on this and not get down with scale not moving yet.
Take care.

Wish this site had more doing it.
Congrats on making it to day 4.

I'm going too count calories starting Monday. I gained a pound this week and moving on from WW. I'm pretty sure I'm getting too many daily points = 29 and 49 weekly!!

I'll still peek in too see how you girls are doing.....I'm NOT going too stop reading the book cover to cover. I love reading ALL different kinds of exercise and fitness books.

Besides, I refuse to give up my diet coke!! I looked for Kefir and couldn't find it.

Add a couple of packets of Splenda or Truvia to the Kefir--it is a bit sour tasting like plain yogurt.
