Hi all, thanks for the warm welcome. Did a bit more research on the Atkins and brought out my old book, I think I'll just stick with the 17 DD it's working for me and as the old saying goes IF IT WORKS, THEN DON'T TRY TO FIX IT. Plus the 17 DD seems more doable for me.

I'm guilty of being a slave to the scale and today I was down another 2 lbs Tomorrow is my last day on cycle 1. I was wondering did any of you experience headaches within the first 1-7 days of starting? I sure did, and last weekend when I had cheated and had to recommit myself on Monday will all this week I've had bad headaches it's been awful. The headaches alone will keep me from cheating again

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

I'm with you with the scale. Every morning I strip down after I pee and weigh myself. I didn't have the headaches but I did atkins for 3 months before I switched.

No, they are fraternal, but you wouldn't know that by looking at them! I also have 2 boys (the 4 kids were all born in a 39 month period!!!! ), and they look alike as well... I think DH and I only have one "boy mold" and one "girl mold" LOL!!!

I didn't have a headache since I was already doing JUDDD and low carb, but on D3-D5, I hit the wall with extreme fatigue. Could be I was just having a very bad week at work. I have lots of energy now.

I won the 17 day diet DVD and the 17 day book for $16.99 includes shipping. I lost 3 auctions for the DVD and book over the last few days. I don't need the extra book & can sell the one that I have. I just wanted the 17 minute dvd to go with the book. I think on the website it was $12.00 + $7.00 shipping.

Woo Hoo...I love winning auctions. Keep us informed on how you like the DVD, I've been wondering about it. My exercise is walking and riding my new bike, it's been slow going but I just need to be more motivated.

I see you all have some Kiddo's and grandbabies. I have 2 children a 19 y/o Daughter, & 5 y/o son..It's a good 14 yrs between my two. My DD has recently moved out to start a life outside of our home, she graduated last June and has started college in CA. It took some getting use to not having her in the house, but the transition has been good..But I miss her a lot. My son is in Kindergarten and he's a whole lot of fun, he keeps me very busy, never a dull moment in the house with him around.

Have you all given up coffee on the 17 DD? I haven't been able to kick it yet, I drink about 12 oz a day with a bit of creamer..I get up early to get my son to school and I really need it in the morning. The green tea is ok, but I much prefer my coffee.

EXCELLENT! I was disappointed that the book didn't come with the DVD. Let us know what kind of exercise they do.

I have 3 kids-D (36), S1 (31), S2 (30). Only D has children-1 stepD (8), D (3), S (almost 1)--boys are not married but have GFs.

I still drink coffee but try to limit consumption to 1 cup in am and 1 after dinner. I use fat free 1/2 & 1/2 and truvia. I stopped the green tea due to constipation. No diet soda.

whew, talk about putting "blinders" on when out at the grocery store.

I made it out ALIVE!!

Still on plan today but had a gain the other day - cheated and weighed but so far down 2.2 pounds and my "official" weigh in day is Tuesday.

I did 6 miles of walking - almost 3 outside and the rest was running errands.

Happy Mother's Day all.

I bought myself a beautiful ring - - from my kids w/ Jan. birthstone. I will pick it up next Saturday. They are sizing it for me to 6 1/2. I told the girl under $100 and it was on sale for $70. Divide that by 3 kids = worth every penny. I'm sure.

Oh, thank you. I will see if I can get a good picture of it on.

I showed the ring to dh and dd7 and they loved it and said it was pretty. They ran off and grabbed me something tonight from one of the vendors. I can't wait too see it.

I couldn't post a ring similar - bit map. I'll keep searching ...

Good loss, Kind! How is your husband doing? The book says you should do all 3 cycles in that order for the plan to work.

No; you can just go on ... doesn't matter if you slip a day or two... you can add an extra day, if you want

Good for both of you! I think the book really explains the process of success on each of the cycles. Moderation and smart choices are key. If you overeat one day, go back to Cycle 1 for a day. Going to Cycle 3 next Sunday, the first day of vacation.

GREAT AND CONGRATS TO YOU!! Wow, 13#s in 17 days is amazing. Do you have a game plan for C2 and your added starches? I am interested in how everyone approaches the different phases. I picked a starch--bean salad--and ate that the first week. I think I am going to do sweet potatoes this coming week. I start C3 next Sunday!

Yes I guess I kinda have a game plan, l'll be adding some hot cereals in the morning, planning on making the chili recipe from the book and adding lean ground beef to that. I think tonight will be some pork chops with a sweet potato. I'm just happy to have a few more options. The first cycle I just ate a lot of the same things over and over, but I didn't get bored since I was never hungry. The chicken soup recipe was a lifesaver for me on C1, so I'll make another batch of that this week for lunches and quick meals. I will still continue to track my calories at the *********** website to get my 1200 cal. in.

I have been on this plan since Apr 2/11 and I have lost 12 lbs to date. I started Cycle 3 yesterday, but had a bit of a cheat day today as it is Mother's Day and I had to have my traditional Mother's Day Blizzard from DQ. I get that once a year, so I don't feel too bad for cheating today. But if anyone else wants one, let me tell you that the small blizzard is 675 calories. That is more than 12 my daily intake. Oh well, I'll eat small the rest of the day and drink lots of water and see what tomorrow brings.
