Baby raccoons can be cute but watch out for big raccoons. They can be destructive. We had some tear our sofflet back on our house to try to get in our house.

Seems like your weight loss is catching up to you now. I think is was in a holding position there for awhile with your exercise. Same thing happened to me back in January, I was exercising everyday but the scale wasn't moving. Then one day it clicked and started moving in the right direction. Happy for your loss.

Good morning everyone!

Ended round 1 with a total loss of 6.6 lbs. Current Weight 152.2. I really would like to get to 140 but I'll be happy to get to 145 for now.

I am going to go with odd days as the old cycle and even days as the new. So today I will be continuing the same and tomorrow I will have some shrimp at lunch and steak at dinner. Kind of a celebration.

I found some dried cherries yesterday at the health food store with no sugar added. Their cranberries had sugar and the one grocery store I was in all the dried fruit had some kind of sugar. I am planning on baking some power cookies today with the tweaks that sweetpea49 did.

That sucks! My DD when she dated her husband from Long Island would take a bus from PA and then a train to Long Island. I know one time she couldn't make it home and had to stay another day cause someone committed suicide on the train tracks.

CONGRATS on your loss and success on C1!! Having some sort of a game plan for each day helps me stay on track.

The dried cranberries I used were Eden brand and were sweetened with apple juice. It takes so much extra time to read all the labels, but so worth it!! I usually shop in Whole Foods and each week, I try to experiment with one new item. Last week it was the cranberries, but I also saw kefir cheese!! Didn't buy it b/c I wanted to do some research on what I can use it for. Also, it was high in fat and serving size was 2 TBL--need to give this some thought....

We don't have a Whole Foods near me. I might check out Wegmans they seem to have alot of health food items or we have a Fresh Market. I think I read on the doctors site that Target had dried cherries in juice the Archer brand. I'm going to try the cherries I have. I wonder if I should plump them up first with some water?

I used to commute by train from CT to NYC. Way more problems with the train than bus. One day someone pushed out the emergency window on the train and jumped out while the train was moving...pity the poor person that was sitting next to him. In the winter it was snapped overhead electric lines and frozen switches, and in the summer it was sagging electric lines and then they would get caught and snap. I am getting tired of all of this...been doing the commute for 17 years from NY, CT and now NJ. After 9/11 and the blackout a few years later, I seriously questioned whether it was all worth it, but stayed the course because the economy and the job market took the nosedive. Now I am closer to retirement age and I think my prospects for another job are slim. Hopefully I will have a job to see me through the next 5 or so years.

What state? I shop in Wegmans too, although I like one location over another--go figure! I will look in Target for the cherries. If they are hard, I would definitely soak them to plump them up. I think this was one of the suggestions on the doctors site. The cranberries were very soft, so I didn't have to do it.

Wahoo, 7 days to go!

I've been eating ground turkey or turkey patties w/ no additives. I thought sliced turkey had a lot of sodium? or i can have pkg. turkey? I'm just looking for some options and "meat" in my salads.

In PA the store is in Allentown. Cherries are soft so I won't bother plumpimg them more.

Most packaged meats are high in sodium. I just bought a package of Hormel all natural carved chicken breast which isn't too bad. I will have it for lunch today and tomorrow although it is supposed to be 3 servings.

Welcome!

You may want to use these couple of days to "ease" into the plan, like drinking the lemon water or green tea, or eating the yogurt. Developing your "game plan" will help too.

Hello My name is Tina I'm on day 15 of cycle 1..Down 8 lbs. I was down 9 but gained one back, and the last two days the scale has been sitting steady, could be TOM.

I use to belong to this site years ago while doing Atkins, I'm happy to see they have the 17 DD here. Wondering why some of you have choose this WOE over Atkins? I've been looking again into the Atkins approach which was what brought me back to this site. I like the idea of LC & More protein, my body just seems to be more satisfied, which the 17 DD made very clear for me.

Yes, babies after midnight but couldn't go back too sleep. It happened at 3am and then I didn't want to get up at 6 am - but had a 7 y/o breathing in my face -- aka morning breath telling me it's time to get up and do her hair. I'm gonna need some extra caffeine today!

Congrats on your loss!!

I never did Atkins because I joined WW. Besides, I don't like too eat all that greasy meat anyways. I don't know @ the time I had gallbladder attacks but it's out, maybe I should give it a try?

Good luck to whatever you decided to do. Do what works for you!

I've done atkins on and off since about 2001. At one time I was down to 135. Then I slacked and life gets in the way with stress and I eat. This past January I did Atkins for 3 months lost around 15 lbs went on a cruise gained 3 lbs and now just finished 1st cycle and lost 6.6. lbs. I find as I got older I have a harder time losing since menopause.

Congrats on your loss!

Hi Tina and welcome to our group!! I am mid-Cycle 2 and lost almost 8#s on Cyle 1. I will weight in on Sunday, which will be D10. I think I am doing great--at least I feel great!!

My husband and I did Atkins back in early 2003 and we each lost a lot of weight--he more quickly than I, and we managed to maintain our weight loss for many years. But, as Starry said, life gets in the way and we both began to stress eat. He gained back about 30# and I almost 50!! When we started back on Atkins in mid-Oct, he lost weight, but I didn't. The old "one golden shot" saying came back to haunt me. So, I went looking for something that would work. I was never happy eating all the greasy meat, as Kaimi also said. I did JUDDD for a few months, which worked initially and then stopped or I stalled/plateaued. I wasn't really happy on under 500 calories on a down day, and I seemed to be fatigued most of the time, even when I was eating more calories on an up day. I saw a few posts about the 17 DD and then did a bit more research and bought the book. I think Dr. M does a better job of explaining the maintenance processs than Dr. A did--it was very difficult to find the CCL level.

Wonderful news!!! What a happy time for your family. Our newest grandson was born last July amidst all of the chaos and cheered us all up too.
