Hi Ljb
Yes Kefier is thicke. It takes a little bit to get used to it.
Maybe down the line I will try the ones that has little more sugar and fruit added..
But I do like it now. and most likely will stay taking it.
So are you doing weight watchers/ If so how is it doing for you?
I do like so far 17 day diet .

Day 2:

going strong! I even changed my stats -- I think this will be my plan for now. I'm already starting too feel a lot less "bloated" -- not sure if it's because my monthly is ending on Thursday OR this plan but I was 170.2 on Monday and today I'm 167.6 My new official weigh-in will be Tuesdays - the day I started the plan.

I'll take it and I think I'll resort back to being a daily weigher.

Just cause you can have onions and ff sour cream does not mean you can have a bag of sourcream and onion chips.

Good for you on the loss!

Good Morning Losers!!

This is day 17 for me. As of this morning unless tomorrows weigh in is different I lost 6.2 lbs. Glad I stuck with it. Must check out all my options for next round and do some grocery shopping. I know steak and shrimp will be on that list. My wedding anniversary is tomorrow...........32 years. Dh's has had some stomach bug so I'll wait to see when he feels better and make a steak dinner with some shrimp. YUM!! Since tomorrow is an odd day I'll probably do another accelerate day and do even days activate. Thats my plan.

Hows everyone doing??

Good Morning Ladies --- HAPPY WEDNESDAY ----Day #8 went well for me. I'm really liking this diet. Much better that Atkins, I never did agree with all that fat. I just don't believe it's good for you. I had back surgery last June, so my exercise is limited. Didn't get to walk yesterday due to rain. Hope everyone is doing well and have a great day.

Sweetpea,

I'm surprised I never really liked fruit too much and I am enjoying it. It must have been a good year for citrus. The oranges and grapefruit are really sweet. I do have to watch I don't eat too much or I get ulcers in my mouth. I did get tired of the meat choices for cycle 1. I will be happy to incorporate some beef, pork and seafood in the menu. It would be nice to have a potato with the steak but I would have to have it for lunch since it has to be before 2pm.

I would like to try the power cookie but there are so many variations on it to make it more moist. Also you need to buy a lot of ingredients and if I don't like it. What a waste. I haven't tried anymore recipes other than the cauliflower soup you posted. I do enjoy the fruit smoothies and mock chocolate pudding I made into a shake.

I wish the rain would stop here. I hate to grocery shop in the rain.

Glad you are liking it.

Its good but next time I might omit the orange zest. Either that or maybe I put too much in. Love the roasted red pepper puree.

I had the power cookie for breakfast this morning along with fruit and yogurt. I was very tasty and moist. Yes, they are expensive to make. If you want my tweaks to the recipe, I will gladly post them. I combined most of the comments from the dr's site into the original recipe and then added a few of my own. The batch made 18 large cookies. I only kept 1 out and put the rest in the freezer. If you can only have 1 cookie every other day, then you need a batch of 9!!

Do you like blueberries or strawberries??? They are just coming into season.

I was wondering where you were today. Yes, please post the tweaks. I do like oatmeal cookies. It might be something easy to grab with yogurt for breakfast.

I went thru my low carb cookbooks and picked out those that fit this plan. I was surprised at how many I could use as they were written and many that I could change. Also, food network has a lot of good recipes as well as cooking light.

Its been crazy busy here and it started the first thing when I got in at 7:45!! Taking lunch now and trying to catch up on my life! I think if you go back to my journal posting for Sunday, I gave an overview of what I did, but I will post the specifics later tonight if I have time. The cookie by itself does not make a meal. I ate it on the bus and thought...now what can I eat, so I went back to the book and saw that I could add yogurt and a fruit. I see that the cookie counts for one serving of starch.

Time to go and work on my journal and read some more of my book while all kids are sleeping. jinx.

I don't think i could make the power cookie. in the freezer out of site but i'd think about it and go find it.

DUH...I have the book with me....

Notice that the cookie is the first under the recipe section!!! Really.....????

These are only the ingredients that I changed; all others listed in recipe are the same amounts.

1/3 cup of unsweetened applesauce CHANGED to 2 individual containers of unsweetened applesauce...I think each one is 1/3 cup

2 TBL almond past CHANGED to 2 TBL almond butter

1 TBL flaxseed oil CHANGED to omitted comletely

1 large egg CHANGED to 1/4 cup egg substitute

1/4 Tea black pepper CHANGED to omitted completely

1/2 cup vanilla whey powder CHANGED to 1 cup of vanilla whey powder

2 cups oats CHANGED to 1 1/2 cup steel cut oats

1 cup dried cherries CHANGED to 1 cup dried cranberries

1/2 cup sliced almond CHANGED to omitted completely

I used 2 cookie sheets--9 on each sheet. I mixed all the wet ingredients in one bowl and all the dry ingredients in a separate bowl, and then combined the wet into the dry, using a "fold" method just until all the ingredients were mixed. I only had country style steel cut oats and since they were quite coarse, I gave them a whiz in the Bullet in a few batches to make a finer "flour" type consistency. I used butter flavored Pam for the cooking spray. Each cookie was about 1 1/2 large TBL of mixture. I cooked at 350 but for only 10 minutes. The tops were springy to the touch and the bottoms were lightly browned. I left them on the sheet for a few minutes and then moved them to a wire rack to cool. They made the kitchen smell wonderful.

Thoughts??? Suggestions???
