Polish Fat Diet? Homo Optimus? The Optimal Diet?
I'm dying to know if anyone here has tried this diet. I read something not long ago about it, and even for me, who was a dyed-in-the-wool ZCer for a few months, it sounds like it might be a bit over the top.
The principle has to do with strict adherence to a fat-protein-carb ratio per day (1 : 2.5 - 3.5 : 0.5)
which tells me you'd have to use Daily Plate or ****** to stay on top of it.

I hadn't heard of it until this thread but after reading the CBS News article (despite the fact that they referenced eating toast with breakfast, which sounds very wrong to me), it sounds very close to what many of us are doing with going VLC/ZC. I'm not sure about chugging a glass of HWC either as was also mentioned in the article, I personally have a feeling that the article's author was taking some liberties but then again, I haven't seen the actual diet plan.
It sounds pretty good to me. I consume tons of fat now (about 75% of my caloric intake comes from fat) and I'm healthy and losing weight fairly consistently. If you do happen to pick up the book, please come back and post about it!

I keep track of my macronutrients each day both by grams and percentages. I started looking at the ratios of fat and carbs to protein to see where I am in relation to Optimal Diet... and I'd have to go much lower in protein and much higher in fat to get to those ratios. A couple days I've been able to get my fat that high, but I had to conciously work at it.
It sure is interesting to think about, though.

Atkins called the polish doctor prior to writing his book. Atkins changed the ratio to have more positive response from USDA, ADA can not eat, etc. I can not eat the foods recommended in that plan (too squeamish). However I truly believe that its much more accurate than what our government has been feeding us for 60 years. Just look at the official food pyramid and judge for yourself.
