I cooked most of my food for the Dukan diet ahead of time so it would be readily available all week long to help me thru the first phase. I put chicken tenders on cookie sheets and brushed with fat free, sugar free, carb free BBQ sauce, sprinkled with lots of herbs and spices and baked in the oven. On the stove I pan cooked with fat free spray some round steak pieces with seasonings, and in another pan emptied a big bag of large deveined shelled shrimp and seasoned them well. Everything went into the freezer already cooked and ready. I boiled some eggs and put in the frig. Then I ate some fat free turkey bacon. I am ready! Lets do this! I will report my weightloss here every week.

I've been reading a great deal about the diet lately and I'm interesting in giving it a try. Can someone please tell me what a sample day's menu looks like? Dee

Had a couple all protein days last week just to get motivated, but officially starting today after Easter buffet yesterday. I am noticing even after a day like yesterdays buffet, I wake up feeling pretty rotten, but 8 hours later after being on all protein that feeling goes away. I am going to stay on this first phase 7-10 days, got food cooked up and shopped for fat free dairy. Thanks for the recipes, I think I can do this.
In my opinion, if you take creamed cottage cheese, either 2 or 4 % put into a sieve and wash with warm water to wash off the "creamed" part, you have no fat cottage cheese, tastes the way it used to on the farm when my mom made her own.
What is a Quark?

Quark is fromage frais or cottage cheese made without rennet. You can find it at Whole Foods. Kind of expensive in my opinion. What I did was drain all the water from the non-fat cottage cheese. Made it a bit dry but was still tasty.

Hi I started the Dukan diet last Friday. As of today I have lost 4 lbs. That is a lb a day. I have never lost like this before. I don't care if it is water, because it must have been extra water that my body did not need. I feel great on this diet.

Can you tell me what you ate, starting with breakfast? I don't have the book and I am trying to see if I can follow this program.

I kind of messed up in the beginning. I treated the plan more like Stillman's than Dukan. Read the beginning of the thread for details.

for breakfast I have eggbeaters and some low fat turkey sausage
snack yogurt with oat bran
lunch left over meat from dinner the night before or tuna etc
dinner meat and more meat LOL steak, chicken what ever I feel like that day. Nothing is fried. It is either cooked on the grill or in the oven.
If I want a late night snack I have some kippers.
I'm full all the time. I love rice and potatoes and junk food. I'm finding that with out the carbs I feel full most of the day.
The only problem I have so far is going poo. I will figure something out.

2 more days on Attack. Down 5 lbs. Next week I get to add veggies. Can't wait. Veggies sound so good. Need to read the book and make a list of veggies. How is everyone else doing?

day 2 of attack for me

I am struggling a bit. while i was used to low carb/atkins i always had even a little salad or veggies which is what i seem to be missing. gained some weight even low carbing which doctor attributes to thyroid, diabetes, and hormones. back on track and meds adjusted and hope to see results with this plan.
i filled out the questions on the dukan site and the suggestion was 5 days of attack but almost 4 months of the second phase until i reach my goal...40 lb.
well, willing to give it a try. i did have a zero fat yogurt with the oat bran which was actually nice.

I really messed up yesterday. DH brought home a pizza. I couldn't stop myself. Eat 3 pieces of that greasy mess. Last night I felt awful. Today nothing but protein.

I have stayed on attack for 8 days, so far, plan on 2 more. have lost 5#, maybe a little more. Have been strict with plan except for a couple tablespoons of vegs and a small salad with my chicken one day when eating out. Most days I feel so good and not hungry.
made some yo cheese of plain yogurt, with sweetener (stevia) it was pretty good. Looking forward to the vegs in a couple days. Going to add them one by one, slowly, too.

hello, all! Decided to join you yesterday after seeing Dr. Oz. & reading this thread...got the book from Costco (thanks penguinpower!) ...just completed day 1 of Attack phase. Calculated my "True Weight" (it's kinda high at 167lbs and is supposed to take me 4 days of Attack & 188 days of Cruising to get there!) day 1 wasn't too bad, stayed too busy to worry about how hard it might be, will see what tomorrow brings! Loved my oatbran pancake this a.m. kinda tasty (is anyone eating their pancake w/ sf syrup?)

Hi.
I was just reading your post.
Seems like you all are doing well.
They have the book at Walmart also.
Right now Im doing the 17 day diet.
I love Dr.Oz. But I thought he was not sure on this durkin diet.I did see it on the Veiw couple weeks ago.I should just get book and read it and see.
They reason Im looking at Durkin diet was because freind said she was thinking about getting book and doing it. I told her Im torn on this one,But looks like it is working for you all.
Keep posting and giving tips for those, like me that are not to sure.
Isnt thefirst 10days very high in proteins?{meats ect.
How do u know how long on attack?Or do u do 10days?

kind-it's spelled dukan-name of MD that perfected it. And all in info you would need to start you can find on their website-dudkandiet.
First Protein days are anywhere from 2-8 days, depending on your starting wt and issues. You can get an estimate on that website. Next phase alternate between protein days and protein and veg combined days.

hi kind. today starts day 3 for me. will report Mon. morn how well i did (looking real good so far). that will be the end of my attack. it's not been too hard but I'm looking forward to them veggies!!! I used a "caluculator" to find my True Weight & timeline. As I mentioned, they set my goal @ 167 (a total loss of 60 lbs!!!) I was thinking more like 150ish but that's fine. It averages out about 2 lbs/week so nice, but not any faster than regular lowcarb or even WW & other plans for some people.
u can check it out here:

Oooops! edited to remove the link, not sure if it violates policy as there are products & coaching sold there, but you can google dukan calculator & find it.

Just thought I'd add-am starting 3rd week of this, adding back vegs every other day-adding them slow because I get stalled by some foods that should not happen-so far celery and onions are fine. Finding creative ways to use cottage cheese. And making yocheese.
Just for encouragement, it is really nice not to be hungry all the time (I've always been hungry even after eating). This seems to be a very welcome side effect of this for me.

I had success on Atkins a couple of years ago, but have fallen off the wagon and have been unable to get back on. I am currently 15 lbs back above goal although I believe some of it is bloat/water gain from improper eating.

I think this Dukan Diet is exactly what I need. I have read MANY books, but this seems to be closest to what I know works and what I will be able to stick with/live with.

I've read up through the Attack Phase chapter thus far and will start the Attack today.
