Eggfast Results

Please don't flame me about this! I am posting to those who might be interested--if it's not your thing, I respect that. I understand that undertaking an eggfast is not for everyone, but I had good results, and I wanted to share:

Friday menu:
B--3 eggs scrambled in 1 T. butter
L--2 boiled eggs made into egg salad w/1 T. of mayo
D--" " "
Snack--1 plain boiled egg

Had coffee with cream and a/s (2 cups) and plain water

Sat. menu:
B--3 eggs scrambled in 1 T. butter
L--2 boiled eggs made into egg salad w/1 T. of mayo
D--2 boiled eggs made into deviled eggs w/ 1 T. of mayo

Had coffee with cream and a/s (2 cups) and plain water

On Sunday, I just had eggs for breakfast, but here's the menu:
B--2 boiled eggs made into egg salad w/1 T. of mayo
L--4 oz. smoked chicken breast
D--taco meat w/ cheddar cheese 3/4 c. total, abt. 1/4 guacomole, and 1/4 c. tomatoes

Had coffee with cream and a/s(2 cups), plain water, Wyler's in water (I dilute it a lot).

Weight loss?

Sat: down 3 pounds
Sun: down 2 pounds
Mon: down 1 pound

Total: 6 pounds

It was very motivating and cleansing for me; I really learned to listen to my body in terms of real hunger, I didn't think I would last even one day, but I did. Overall, a great experience (which I will repeat), and I now feel more committed than ever to this WOL.

Sugar monkey off my back for 57 days!

Congratulations on your results!!!! One of my great LC friends has also had FANTASTIC results with the eggfast. There must be something to it, IMO!! Thank you for sharing this with everyone. I believe the way to keep the weight loss going is to shake things up a bit and this just may be the way for many people!! Woohoo!

That is wonderful!! I think eggs are one of the best foods we can eat so fasting on them seems likes something good! I may give this a try to break my stall! Is there an egg limit or is it eat until you're full? And mayo and cream and such is ok in moderation?

Is this similar to M&E, just without the M? Why an egg fast? TOTALLY not knocking it/you, and honestly it's the end of the month and I'm POOR lol so I might take a stab at it myself! But I'm curious as to why just eggs instead of meat and eggs? Is there a "plan" you followed for the three days, to get recommendations as far as the mayo and cream? Or did you just make it up?

Mmmm eggs.

I'll bear this in mind for if (or more likely, when!) I stall.

Oh, y'all are so nice, I'm blushing!

Tori: I've looked at a lot of info on eggfasts, and it seems like the average number per day is 6-8. I honestly do not think I could eat more--they were sooo filling!

Dovelette: I was following the progress of Jimmy Moore's eggfast on The Official Website For Jimmy Moore's Livin' La Vida Low-Carb, and nothing was mentioned about meat, so I just assumed you could only do eggs, lol. Dang, I would have been in heaven with some meat! But I really can't complain--the eggs were great. He has links to the science behind it, and I got the butter addition from him. I just picked up the mayo from other menus.

I'm still stunned by the results, I'll be honest with y'all. I've been doing vlc (less than 20 grams), really clean eating, drinking the water, etc. for almost two months, and the weight wasn't moving as fast as I know it could. I had only been in the mod range of ketosis a few times. By the afternoon of the first egg-filled day, I had lots of energy, my mood had brightened, and by nightfall, my ketostix was a verrry dark moderate (almost large). I have thought of doing it every other day (with appropriate vitamin/mineral supplementation, of course) just to see how my body would react. I have noticed on the days that I don't have eggs, I tend to get hungrier than on the days that I do. Eggs like my body, and my body loves eggs!!

Awesome Tori!! An egg buddy! Yea, I will be doing egg salad too. Fried and scrambled dont sit very well with me for some reason. I take a few bites and I am over it. But I love egg salad, and deviled eggs. I also just found a recipe for Tuna Deviled Eggs! Yum! I like that we can eat other protein with he eggs. I will be doing just some variation of eggs 2 times a day and then adding another protein on the third meal.

Lol, how many times did I just use the word eggs in one paragraph??

Like most of us, I could use an eight pound loss. But, eight or nine eggs plus butter is around 1000 calories a day. I wonder if that would satisfy my hunger. I eat two eggs and sausage and mushooms every morning and I love eggs. I'll wait to get a little input before I try. I've been at 1500-1700 and 30-40 carbs for a while.
