I walk over 20 miles a week plus do stretching 3-4x a week so I have an appetite. I'm eating 1400-1500 calories a day which isn't that much considering how active I am. Yes my stomach is getting flatter every day and I am losing inches.

Okay guys, I am down 25 pounds and 8 inches since starting this WOE on January 7. I am not following the plan exactly but obviously it's working. I'm finding I am forcing myself to eat more often and that - for me at least- is the hardest part of this WOE. My hub is down 35 pounds and is glucose levels have gone down to near normal levels!!! Needless to say, our doctor, who is diabetic is now starting this plan. What a great endorsement. Keep with it, I know we can all do it!!! My kids are even starting to look at labels now at the grocery store before they even ask if they can have something !!!

How frequently are you eating? I'm also adding something under 5 carbs in as a snack here and there.

Question

I'm new to this board, but I have a quick question before I spend money on the book. Do you have to eat all of the food? Do you have to get in 6 servings of carbs at 5-20 grams each? Thanks for any help.

Kharliesmom,

You don't have to eat all 15/6. Those are your maximum numbers. Lots of great recipes in the book.

Jorge says that you should strive to get the 6 carb servings in per day, but 15 sugar grams is the maximum amount you should have. Falling below on the sugar grams is fine, but not on the carb servings.

That can be found on his website under FAQs:

Still eating this way but not following 100% due to a wheat intolerance. How is everyone doing? I am down a few lbs. but need to use my carbs more wisely.

I did a modified Atkins and lost quicker & more. However, this is easier to stay on, IMHO, and eat-out on.

wndrwmn67..I am doing the 6 week diet BFC program. And the Ultimate plan does not have 6 carb servings in it. I think only one of the 3 menu choices has the full six and that is the indulgent plan.
I know it is contrary to what the faq says, but that is what he is handing out.

Don't forget - the current 6-Week plan Jorge is promoting is targetted at women over 40. We have special diet challenges, donchaknow.

Gibster....when I check the quote message in reply box at nothing happens so I can't do what you did...bummer. Anyway, AH HA so that is why we get less. People were mentioning that he has a lot of contradictions, so then it get confusing as to what you are really supposed to be doing. For me anyway. May I ask where in the Chicago area you are from?

Kaimi....your avatar is so pretty. My husband is doing the diet with me and peeps were one of his favorite pure sugar indulgences along with marshmallows...Hopefully, we will make it past peep season without him committing sugaracide. lol

CosmicGirl..I just ordered psyllium husks in powder form. I need a good dose and I don't think the capsule have very many grams of fiber in them but, I am hoping I can get it down.

mkhuber, i kinda like peeps but dh hates them and i buy as a joke. i told him yesterday they were all sold out here and he said - can't be, people must be buying them as a joke like u do.
i found this avatar last night. it is sooo pretty. i love the colors.
best of luck and tell dh too pass those peeps and save a few dollars.
I checked labels on some of my favorite foods and omg, the sugar content. it's a lot.
cosmic, i used to buy it only in powder in the states. never seen them in capsule. i will look tho, usually what the back of the bottle would say.

I have a question. Arent sugars/carbs the same thing? Why cant you count your carbs from fruits? Would the plan work if you ate fruits and counted them towards your carb allowance?

Thanks.

Sweep, I have been on his six week menu plan and we have had fruit thrown in once in a while. Only 15 sugar grams a day are allowed and most fruit is high in sugar, so you are not just counting carbs you are counting sugar. A lot of fruit would use up most or all of your daily sugar amount.

Just jumping in. I have been attempting to do this plan off and on for the past couple of weeks.

I fall off about 1 day a week. I don't follow the menus, but am watching the carbs and the sugars and the 1st week I lost 9 lbs. I didn't really keep track of the inches, though I should.

I just found and purchased the Uncle Sam's cereal and tried that this morning with the Almond unsweetened milk. My problem, I love carbs apparently and am stumbling along.

Any ideas of how to get yourself reigned in and follow the plans when you don't have a lot of money up front to purchase all of the menu items to do a weeks' menu?

Thanks in advance.

My 1st post here, I am just jumping in fully aren't I.

He has a book you can purchase that has lots of info and recipes, etc. The Belly Fat Cure - you can purchase at Borders, Sam's Club, Costco, etc.

I am on my 2nd week - I do notice a change and a 4 pound weight loss.

Good luck!

Sorry, I'm late. I'm trying to find my copy in word documents. I know I printed it out - I hope it's the same thing you're looking for. Is it the women over 40 plan? If so, I DO have that. I just have to find it.

Also, look what I found in case anyone is interested. wahoo, glad i didn't have to chop my book up..
