The "true weight" thing was fun to do. I'm not doing his diet, but it said that my true weight is 133, which is very close to where I am. If you haven't done the "true weight" thing, you should do it, just for fun. Thanks for the link, Lora.

No way! It's only 2-7 days of protein and even dairy is allowed then. After that you can have veggies, then add fruit, starch etc. Don't know it till you read the book - people in France have been having "protein Thursdays" for years. Even the restaurants cater to this plan.

Dukan diet

I began the Dukan diet Thursday, 4/21/11, and lost 6# the first 2 days. Water weight. That's ok. All the vegies and fruit was just adding water weight to me. Now I can start on getting rid of the fat. And I feel better than I did eating mounds of salad and bags of fruit. I was even a strict vegetarian for many years a long time ago. Now I have more energy. Vegetables are entered in the second phase of Dukan. I look forward to it, but first things first. The first phase is about taking charge of my body, my appetite, then the other foods come into play. Very good eating plan that is very dooable the rest of my life. I am going to loose 80 more# on this new lifetime eating plan.

Anyone can order the book from the Dukan website but there is plenty of info about how the Dukan diet works (details and all) online elsewhere rather than spend the money on the book.

I haven't seen anyone mention the oat bran. Are you adding this in as well?

Just adding a note that the original poster suggested imitation crab as a good protein source for Phase I, but most imitation crab has sugar added to it.
