Banta diet ???

Is anyone actually following the Banta diet? I was reading my book '101 Lowcarb Tips' and it discussed it briefly. I wanted to ask how to figure grams of protein used to find the amount of fat to eat? I know the ratio is 4 grams of fat per 1 gram of the total grams of protein and carbs, but from there I am lost. Any helpers?

If you Google Banta Recipes, there is a post "Banta November 11" by Pami that will give you all the info you could ever want about Banta. There were a bunch of us trying this out a few years ago, but the recipes are just too delicious and easy to overdo for most of us.

The formula to calculate Banta diet meal or food the Wilder´s formula:
(fat x 90% + protein x 46%) : (fat x 10% + protein x 54% + carbohydrate x 100%).

If you are on Banta diet, it should be not less than 1:2 in the beginning and 1:1,5 for the rest time on diet. Or, roughly, carb and protein grams combined should be at lease 1.5times less tha fat grams

The ketogenic ratio of 1:4 is for epilepsy treatment in clinics. For the rest of us it's 1:1,5 if all goes well and 1:2 if you hit the plateau.
