L.A. Weight Loss
Has anyone done this program? I went in there yesterday for a consultation with my husband and son and we really like the program. It doesn't cost any more than Weight Watchers...the only thing is you pay the $$$ up front.
I am convinced and am joining this Friday. I get two years of support and will go in three times a week. My body doesn't respond well to Atkins or South Beach and I need to make this a lifestyle change. This time I know I will not gain back the weight...I did that once and learned my lesson.

Hi moonstruck -
I did it four years ago and lost a little weight but was always VERY hungry. Everyone probably has difference experiences with it but I will tell you mine. I just want to say that everyone is an individual and even though I didn't like the program maybe you will. ![]() About three months into it I got pregnant with my first son so obviously had to stop. I tried to resume it after I was done breast feeding but to tell you the truth I was never impressed with the program. It made it REALLY hard to go three times a week with a baby and a new schedule. I was just busy busy busy. You have specific foods you eat during the day and you are to keep a journal to show them every week. I still have my information and will tell you what you eat for example if you would like. Let me know and I'll run upstairs and get that for you. The problem is that I was usually meeting someone very young and not knowledgeable to review my journal. They wear a white coat to make it feel as though it's more clinic like but the main thing they are there to do is SELL YOU THEIR PRODUCT! I was sold on the thought of 3 days a week of GOOD SUPPORT etc. If you are losing slower they will try to convince you to buy their weight loss PILLS and supplements. Also, they ask a series of questions to you each time you go and one of them is WHEN WAS YOUR LAST BOWEL MOVEMENT? THAT was really annoying! I was half tempted to pause for a minute as if I was "going" and then say ummm, just now THANK YOU VERY MUCH! ![]() I wasn't impressed with it and maybe they have changed their program after they were sued for mis-leading so many If you search for them online you can read what others think of the program. If you do decide to go, don't let them bully you into buying their products (HOWEVER, when I was there in order to have the guarantee that I would lose weight or you get X amount of money back in the end) that required buying PRODUCT PRODUCT PRODUCT! Remember, the consultants are making commission off of how much they sell. I was their BEST FRIEND as long as I was filling up my bags with their bars and drinks but once I said NO MORE PRODUCT other than the actual food I would buy in the stores the HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY very excited consultations quit. I'll stick to keeping my money in my pocket and buying food in the store and when I have my bowel movements is my business! ![]() Oh and if you are going to join - when they say the "total" that it will cost upfront - don't sound enthused which I am sure you won't because it will be expensive- one of my co-workers years ago went in there and they were told how much it would cost and she said no ! They called her back with a MUCH lower price if she would join. I think they know they make most of their money from products! They just need to get you in there to buy them! Also, you can check out ripoffreport.com and search for them and you will see they have a lot of complaints. I had to check the terms of service for LCF before posting that link but I think it was alright to do so since it's information and not selling anything. They have LOTS of feedback from people that you can read. Last edited by mikeysmommy33 : 08-05-2008 at 11:29 AM. Reason: Adding information |

Thank you for the feedback. My husband, son and I went and they told us it was $549 for two years of support, which costs less than Weight Watchers, but paying that kind of money up front has me a little skeptical. I did go on ripoffreport and and read a lot of negative replies about this program - come to think of it, I haven't met anyone who has had a good experience with it and the last woman I talked to who did it, was at a Weight Watchers meeting. I think I will go back to Weight Watchers, a tried and true program.
Again, thank you for the reply. ![]() Last edited by moonstruck : 08-06-2008 at 09:52 AM. |
