Low Glycemic Load Diet by Dr. Rob Thompson

Anyone out there eating the Low Glycemic Load Diet ? I'm getting ready to start it. I tried the New Dr. Atkins plan and really struggled with it. If anyone out there is doing this plan, I'd love to hear from you.
Blessings.

There was a group of us here last year that tried this plan. Not too many were able to stay on it as the guidelines are rather loose and it seemed we needed a more structured plan. Good luck with it though!

Hey! Thanks for responding. You're doing "higher carb Atkins". Does that mean you're near maintenance or you're just doing more carbs and not so restrictive? Do you ever eat low-carb tortillas since you don't probably do any bread at all?

I understand Dr. Thompson's Gylcemic Load Diet to be similar to Atkins. You basically eliminate bread, flour, potatoes and rice and anything that's ever 13 carbs and over in a serving. Eat lots of low glycemic load veggies and fruit and adequate protein. When you say it's too loosely structured, can you share any specific pitfalls or problems you ran into? I'm desperate to lose weight and nothing else has worked for me. I only lasted 10 days on Atkins this time....I could hardly face food at all it got so repetitive and just seemed gross to me after about a week. I like the fact that on the GLD you can have a low-carb tortilla when everyone else in your family is having bread or bun for a sandwich. I'm totally up for any suggestions or advice. I've GOT to do something. Thanks. Blessings.
