Hi girls, I've had a very busy week with Mom moving to the nursing home from the rehab facility. She'll be at the nursing home for about 6 weeks until the halo comes off and about 2 weeks with the cervical collar, and then back at the rehab facility after that to learn how to rebalance for about 5 days or so.

I gained 1.2 last week and I don't know what to expect this week. I haven't kept track of points and that's dangerous for me, but I'm going on Tuesday to weigh in so that I don't quit going and regain the 20 that I lost AND thus, quit going altogether.

See you all soon. I don't know how often I can post but I try to read everyone's posts every few days. Everyone have a good Monday.

I finally lost the 1.5 gain from last week. WI is on Thursday so lets see if I can drop some more. I have much work to do today. I have my food planned out so lets see how it goes. I am staying on water and no diet soda. I now water is what helps me shed pounds, I just need to drink more. This week my goal will be 80oz. Its a start.
Okay then Im off.

.....you should be smiling in your avatar !! You've done great with Atkins and SB !!

Many of us have done those plans and we are very happy on WW. I could never follow Atkins for the rest of my life, and SB was rough for me. Finally, WW is something I can see myself following FOREVER !!

Welcome !!

WOE: Weight Watchers
Start Date: Today is the DAY!!!!!
I had to wait of course at the Doc's office. I am 15 pounds LIGHTER than I was last year at this time!!!! My Blood Pressure is normal!!!

The Doc and I had a long talk about weight. I just came out and told her, that as determined as I am I don't see myself staying on program and just losing ONE STINKING POUND A WEEK. And she just looked at me and said,

That's is exactly how I want you to do it!. WHAT!!!!

She told me that if I didn't I would wind up and just gain it all back like I have done 50 Billion times in the past. We also talked about the dreaded E word "Exercise". She told me instead of looking at all the clothes that I have, that really hasn't worked in the past now has it?? To pretend I'm in training for something.

Then she asked me a question, What is it that I absolutely LOVE to do, but I can't now because of my weight and exercise?"

I had to think.....then a lightbulb went off. AH HA!!! I'm moving to Texas and I won't be able to ride the horses at the farm!!! Yes you can ride overweight You may say. BUT.....you can't really. I don't have the strength in my arms to hold the reins if I'm riding the "trouble maker" and I sure can't stretch my foot up to the Stirrup to climb on. I would limp for days after. Before I could ride for hours before I actually felt it.

So now I'm in "training!" A whole lot of leg and arm exercises and tightening the "core" muscles.

So I learned a lot today! How are all of you ladies today??? I'm in the process of going through the paperwork that was left on my desk this morning.

My Menu:

WW Chocolate Muffin= 3 points

Lean Cuisine Parmesean crusted fish with vegis = 6

SnackSpecial K Snack Bites = 2

Dinner= Shrimp I think with fresh green beans

WENDY!!!! I have your before and after picture in my journal!

Kudos to you for still going to your meeting tomorrow. Once you're back on track that gain will come off in no time.

I started off with Atkins and lost a lot of weight with it but ultimately I couldn't stick with it. I tried SB for a while too but I have issues with deprivation and I always felt deprived with those programs. With Weight Watchers I don't. I love WW. Even when the scale isn't cooperating.

I think a pound each week is a great goal! I think the slower you lose it the more chance you have to keeping it off. How's the Lean Cuisine?? I saw a commercial for the new ones this morning. Good luck with your training.

WW Mock Breakfast Danish

Ingredients
2 slices bread
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1/4 ts vanilla
1/4 ts cinnamon
1/4 ts sugar or sweetner or to taste

Directions
Toast the bread.
Mix the cottage cheese, vanilla, cinnamon and sweetner (play around with cinnamon and sweetner to your particular taste).
Spread mixture onto the toast.
Put under broiler for 2 to 3 minutes (watch to make sure doesn't burn) till cottage cheese mixture gets a bit bubbly.
Remove, put on plates and enjoy

I found this while checking on the ww website and it sounds interesting. I would never think to do this!! Apparently it's a super old ww recipe from the 70s. I tried it this morning and it was pretty tasty. It was filling too!!! I added some baking apples on top of mine and it was really delicious. I use double fiber bread so it's a fairly low point breakfast.

Has anyone tried or heard of this??? I just thought I would pass this along to my ww buddies. I'm trying to shake up my eating and this is definitely different for me.

approx 50.....but as you know, it also depends on the fiber and fat. You should get yourself one of those point calculators from your center. I paid $10 for mine.
