"PATP" Challenge
It's all about drinking water. Just water. I never count my coffee, tea, flavored water in my water intake for the day. So. Today's challenge for the "Water Challenged" is to drink 6 cups of water (WW guideline) If you are already a drinker, how much to do drink on average? Try to added another 1-2 cups. At the end of each day, list your daily water intake and I will keep track. If you post your daily totals in red, it will be easier for me to pick out Good luck !! |

Yep.
If that's too much, you can ease yourself into it by drinking four 8oz cups I have a nice Jeff Gordon beer glass that holds 16oz, that I keep on the kitchen counter. After I finish the glass I mark it down on a post it that I have on my kitchen cabinet. . |

Anyone have any water-drinking tips?
I do ![]() I drink water when I sit down to meals (yep, sit, dont stand at the counter). I try to drink 16 ounces at each meal in my favorite glass. I cant forget to drink my water if I get into the habit of doing this. 3 meals, 6 glasses of water. I've also stopped buying 2 liter bottles of diet soda (unless there's a gathering, party etc). I only buy cans. Easier to keep track of how much diet pepsi I'm drinking. I'm down to about 1-2 cans a day (In the past, I've consumed a 2L bottle on some days) |

Morning ladies not much time to post. Im in on the water challenge though. Ill start with 64oz a day! My only thing that I do that helps me is make sure I have all my water in before I allow myself the "treat" of a Diet soda.
I made a 3 layer carrot cake for a birthday today I wont eat any but Ill taste a bite to make sure it turned out, Ive never made one of these from scratch before. So how many points would you count for one bite of this? ![]() |

ladies!!! If ya'll like carrot cake check this out:YUM! Amy's Carrot Cake w/Cream Cheese Frosting (Fat Free) Cake Batter: 1 1/2 Tbsp egg beaters 1 1/2 Tbsp FF milk 1 1/2 Tbsp no-sugar-added applesauce (sweetened w/Splenda) 1/4 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp coconut extract 3 Tbsp enriched all-purpose flour 1 Tbsp soy flour 1/4 tsp baking soda 3 Tbsp Splenda 1/4 tsp cinnamon 2 Tbsp crushed pineapple 1 Tbsp raisins (or 10 grams if weighed) 1/4 cup grated or finely-chopped carrots Frosting: 1 1/2 oz softened FF cream cheese (microwave for 15 sec) 1/2 Tbsp FF Promise butter spread (or butter spray if you don't have the other) 2-3 Tbsp Splenda (I like mine really sweet, so I used and counted stats for 3) 1/2 tsp vanilla Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Beat together egg beaters, milk, applesauce, vanilla, and coconut extract. Add in both flours, baking soda, Splenda, and cinnamon and blend again. Grate or chop enough carrots to fill 1/4 cup (I used ready-to-eat mini carrots and my hand-chopper and made this task go very fast). Stir together the carrots, pineapple, and raisins, then gently stir into cake batter. Pour into a small SPRAYED single-serve baking dish (I used my smallest one for this recipe, 500 mL and about 5" diameter. If you doubled the recipe you could probably make this in a loaf pan if you don't have a single-serve dish). Bake for approx 30 min or until golden and knife comes out clean. For frosting: cream together all ingredients until creamy and refrigerate until needed. Let cake cool a bit before frosting. Carrot cake is best served chilled, but pretty awesome the other way too. LOL. ENTIRE RECIPE: Approx 270 cal, 0 fat, and 15.5 g protein (264 cals per recipe if only using 2 Tbsp Splenda in frosting). Counts as your entire breakfast (entree, dairy/protein, and fruit). Wonder how that works? The flours, carrots, and Splenda basically count as your entree. The dairy/protein is made up of the egg beaters and milk in the cake batter, and all the FF cream cheese for the frosting. The fruit serving is a combination of the applesauce, pineapple, and raisins. HALF RECIPE: Approx 135 cal, 0 fat, and 7.75 g protein (132 cal if only 2 Tbsp Splenda in frosting). Counts as just your breakfast entree, or a dessert. You'd better have someone to share this with though for a dessert, as I promise that you won't want to stop at just half. ![]() |

I fill up a gallon container of water and drink out of it, my goal is to drink the whole thing, lately i havent been trying that hard. if i bump up my exercise, i will get some help there. my biggest drawback is that the ice maker is turned off right now, and i keep fogetting to buy ice at the store. no ice, makes it really hard for me, i love ice water. but i keep it cold in the fridge and hopefully that will help.
i have been eating horribly, so i really am starting over, but i weigh in Wednesday ![]() |

sorry I haven't been posting- I've been real busy with 2 kids and trying to figure things out to have better weight loss.
Over July 4th - I gained 7 lbs! Yikes! Well, it was because there were a few days I wasn't home and didn't drink all my water, didn't exercise and ate on plan for the most part - but I have to do all 3 things perfectly to have a nice loss at my weigh in. It was ok though, I was VERY good on sat, sun, mon and tues. and lost 5.5 out of the 7 lbs. I gained. I know a lot was water weight due to not drinking enough and eating salty foods at other people's homes/restaurant. Last week's meeting - my leader kept saying how important it is to eat enough! He really recommends eating all your daily points and your activity points as well. He says when we don't eat enough, your weight loss will stall. So, I have been trying this and it's been working! It's a very hard concept for me to understand - how eating more food and enough food helps you to lose weight. He has some members in other meetings that eat small meals every few hours and since they started doing this along with eating all their points - they have had better weight loss! Since last Weds. night - Here is everything I'm doing everyday (some are things I had already been doing everyday) 1)Walk 30 minutes a day 2)I'm eating breakfast again 3)I try to drink at least a gallon of water a day, sometimes a little more 4) I have been eating all my daily points and my activity points too 5) Have been eating small meals every few hours (about 5-6 meals a day) 6) I always have a little protein at each meal and snack. It might be egg whites or chicken breast, or a protein shake, or cottage cheese, or nuts or better n' peanut butter 7) I try to eat as many fresh foods as possible and I'm doing a ton more cooking and baking at home. I try to eat lots of fruits and veggies. I try hard to stay away from frozen dinners and any foods with a ton of sodium in them. 8) I'm trying to eat a big breakfast and use 1/4 of my points at breakfast. So, I'm trying out a big breakfast, medium lunch and light dinner. I have a BAD BAD habit of being a night time eater and eating heavy dinners and sweets right before bed and that's a big no no! The light eating at night is really helping ![]() it does take a lot of time to make up my daily menus, exercise, drink all my water, eat every few hours - but I'm getting used to it. I try to have quick snacks like - a fiber one bar with T. of bnpb on it (yum), or a little bit of ff vanilla yogurt with fresh strawberries and blueberries, but it's worth it! It better be, ![]() See, I'm so used to taking care of everyone else (especially my 1 and 3 year old - that I'm not used to taking so much time for me by writing everything down, cooking so much and eating so much, lol! I also am in for the PATP challenge Reg. What a great idea!!!!!
