Well, it's official. I gave my 2 weeks notice today. I've been a wreck all week. Severe stomach issued, insomnia...crazy what stress will do to a body.

My boss took it like an adult. He congratulated me, high-fived me, and we ended with a hug (all that was missing was a rip roaring round of kumbaya).

He said he wasn't surprised...had known that I was unhappy for a long time, but didn't know what to do to make it better. My last day selling insurance (hate selling insurance) will be July 9th, I'm taking the 10th & 11th as vacation days (last vacation time I'll see until early 2008 as I can't use any of my time on the new job until after 6 months of employment.

I'm weighing in tomorrow at noon because we have a social function to attend at the club tomorrow night and, well, quite frankly, I'm going to get my drink on and celebrate my new job!

New job will be as a relocation consultant for a moving and storage company. More opportunities, more benefits, more money. 'nuff said.

Congrats to all our losers and maintainers this week. I think maintaining deserves a round of applause because, well, hey, it's not a gain, right?

Okay I've been slacking the last two days in the exercise dept...no excuse..I'm just tired and don't feel like it. Sigh....I'll do better.

There's an Asian market in the shopping center where my ww center is so I'm going to see if they have those shirtaki noodles for me to try. Maybe I'll like them... I'm also going to Walmart to get my HG cookbook!!!!

Reg - So sorry to hear you stayed the same this week. But, because it was TOM - you should have a great loss next week!
Isnt it amazing that all your ducks have to be in a row and if you slack on an element you dont do well. It's more than just eating on plan, its the exercise, water, etc. I'm glad you saw a loss this week.

I slacked a bit on keeping track of my foods last week....and you're right, it could be TOM, but that didnt seem to effect me in the past. I have to keep reminding myself where I am.......I'm in Onederland......not a place I've spent a lot of time in over the past 20 years.

When I was on Atkins I saw 193˝ on the scale for about 12 hours before it crept up to 194. I am soooooooooo close to that now. I remember being 189# when I first met DH. I can't wait to be in the 180's

Hope your exercise went well.

Death by Chocolate Cupcakes

Ingredients:
2 cups moist-style chocolate cake mix (half of an 18.25-oz. box)
Two 25-calorie packets diet hot cocoa mix
1/2 cup fat-free liquid egg substitute (like Egg Beaters Original)
2 tbsp. semi-sweet mini chocolate chips
1 tsp. Splenda No Calorie Sweetener (granulated)
1/8 tsp. salt

Directions:
Place chocolate chips and the contents of both cocoa packets in a tall glass. Add 12 ounces of boiling water, and stir until chips and cocoa mix have dissolved. Place glass in the freezer to chill for 25 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Once cocoa has chilled, give it a stir, and mix with all other ingredients in a mixing bowl. Whip batter with a whisk or fork for 2 minutes. Spray a 12-cup muffin pan with nonstick spray, or line it with baking cups. Evenly spoon batter (which will be thin, but don't worry, your cupcakes will puff up!) into the pan. Place pan in the oven, and bake for 15 minutes. Cupcakes will look shiny when done. Death By Chocolate Cupcakes (dh is taking them to work tomorrow for a potluck). A decent sized cupcake, 2 points (around a 100 cals for anyone counting). FABULOUS.

DH has scarfed 3 or 4 down already...and he took some over to the neighbors. there will be 12 left for him to take tomorrow.

I may even take a couple to my office...chocolate may help soften the blow that I'm quitting -- tomorrow is d-day...the day I give my boss notice. I only hope he takes it and doesn't tell me to to pack my stuff and leave
Those look pretty freaking delicious!! How did they go over when DH took them to work today?

Woohoo!!!! We are all rockstars!!! It doesn't matter how fast or slow we lose..we're all taking steps to live a healthier life...that's what really matters!! Sometimes I think I need to take more drastic steps to try and get the scale to go down quicker but ultimately I know that won't work for me. I'm slow but I'll get there eventually. Remember we're all trying to live our life, be happy...and lose a few pounds along the way. GO ROCKSTARS!!!

Good luck to our Thursday Weighers.

Today I will be packing for our trip. Tonight and Friday I have to work, so it has to get done today. We are staying at a friend's condo so I gotta make sure I personally have food for the plan.......I'll be up in the mountains somewhere where the local supermarket has 6 isles (probably no low point specialty items).

I made and froze a Turkey Ench Pie so that one meal is covered every day. I'll bring a container of egg beaters, box of 2pt oatmeal, fruit and snacks.

After staying the same (gotta remind myself that it was TOM) this week at WI, I'd really like to lose a pound on vacation. Doable? Not sure.

My next trip is in August for a weekend with a girlfriend to PA to see a SASCAR race. THAT is going to be difficult I think.......all that tailgating, beer drinking and crap.

The kids have a ˝ day today, so I prob will be going down to the beach later.

Have a great day !!
That sounds like a great plan to me!!! Sounds like you'll have a nice trip. Have fun...can I come??? I need a vacation.

Good luck...okay I'm probably late with the good luck but good luck anyway!!! Hey there's nothing wrong with maintaining. It's not a gain so that's success in my book! This weight loss thang is hard!!!! Keep up the good work!!

I looked back at my week and saw that there were a few days I wasn't home and had company -I didn't get to exercise. I also didn't drink all my water for a few days either. I also went to Old Country Buffet on Weds. night after the meeting. I did real well with eating on plan - but I must be sensitive to all the salt & msg in the foods there. The scale did go up a pound after the buffet.

The great thing is, I know what I did wrong and will correct it this week! Geez, it seems like if I am PERFECT for the week - getting 30 minutes of exercise a day, drinking A LOT of water, staying on plan, eat when I'm hungry stop when comfortable and don't get overstuffed - then I'll have like a 3 lbs loss that week. I hate the fact that I have to do things perfectly everyday to have a good loss, but that's the way it is!!!

so, here's me takin off for now - to go drink all my water and exercise!!! It feels like a part time job getting all your exercise, drinking your water, preparing and cooking your meals, shopping for groceries and writing everything down - but it is certainly worth it when you have great losses every week isn't it?
Congrats on the loss. Losing weight sure is a lot of hard work. This time around I'm trying to be more relaxed about it though. My weight loss is much slower than everyone elses but it works for me. Stick with your plan and I know you'll see even more of a loss next week!!

I found on another board where someone was asking for new ways to eat veggies, and i ran out and got the stuff to try it, and yum.

I took fresh green beans, fresh mushrooms, and garlic powder and put it in a ziploc steamer bag in the microwave, for 2.5 minutes, and it was sooo yummy. the mushrooms were amazing, so delicious. They also suggested putting in fresh vegetables (like carrots and cauli) with a wedge of laughing cow cheese for 1 pt, im trying that next!

someone posted in the last few weeks how they make peach cobbler, or a fruit cobbler in the microwave, with some fruit and a packet of instant oatmeal, i cant find it! can you tell me how you did that?

Flower: You sure said a mouthful of truth in that statement. It is like a part time job. I had to babysit on Wednesday morning so my son and dil could attend a funeral. I had to make sure they understood that I was not willing to keep her all day. I had things to do in the afternoon. (treadmilling) I did not tell them what it was but I knew I needed to be firm or it would have been all day. So I need to look at my weight loss program as a job and an appointment. Not even my grandchild comes before it.

Sounds great! I bought the ziplock steamer bags a couple months ago, put them in the cupboard and quickly forgot about them! I'll have to give this a go this weekend!

Seriously Pam, i gave my friend (who is doing ww with me) 2 of the bags last night because i wanted her to try it. I was seriously contemplating having beans and mushrooms for bkfast this morning because i loved it so much. For lunch for sure.
