Well, that sucks.......I know how you feel

Is there anything that you can contribute it to? TOM? Salty foods? Cake? Less exercise?

Hang in there my friend

Not sure, I had some sushi on saturday. and had 42 AP(used all but 6, wow!!) and only used 5.5 of my WP's I guess I just messed my system up from the norm...I will have to eat better this week and see what comes out. But thanks!

I just finished watching a tear jerker..."Grace is Gone". Definitely a chick flick, the end is sad.

Oraki: You look awesome!!! Keep up the hard work.

RenoMom: Welcome, I'm also a lurker turned poster! I weigh in on Thursdays too, so we are on the same schedule.

On a positive note: I went to the doctor today for a check up and since I was there last summer I have lost 16 lbs! I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but it is nice to hear it is going in the right direction!

Have a great night...Karla

Thanks again for the welcomes..

Reg I do make my own sauce, similar to that one though. No carrots but onion and garlic and mushrooms. I usually use 1/2 grd turkey and 1/2 grd beef (lean) My family can't tell the difference

Can someone fill me in on the lingo? What are AP's and WP's?

Thanks

Sure.

APs are "Activity Points"....points earned for exercise that can be swapped for food on the day it is earned.

WPA is "Weekly Points Allowance"....the additional 35 points you get a week to use as you wish, in addition to your daily points.

Hungry Girls version of the Bloomin Onion (from today's newsletter)

Quote:
HG's Bloomin' Blossom

Flower Power
This swap for those notorious fried onion appetizers is slightly more complicated than our other recipes -- but it is SO, SO, SOOOO worth it! And if you share this giant thing with 3 pals (instead of 1), each serving'll have just 96 calories, <1g fat and a POINTSŪ value of 1*. Rock on, Bloomin' Blossom!

Ingredients:

For Onion:
1 jumbo sweet onion, not peeled
1 cup Fiber One bran cereal (original), ground to a breadcrumb-like consistency in a blender or food processor
1/2 cup fat-free liquid egg substitute (like Original Egg Beaters)
1/4 tsp. seasoned sa lt (like the one by Lawry's)
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. black pepper

For Sauce:
3 tbsp. fat-free mayonnaise
2 tsp. ketchup
1/8 tsp. seasoned salt
dash chili powder

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine ground cereal with the seasoned salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Mix well and set aside.

Cut the top half-inch of the onion off (from the pointy side, not the flat one). Leaving the root (bottom) intact, carefully peel the outside layer off.

Next, starting from the top, carefully cut the onion down and across the middle, stopping about a half-inch from the root. Repeat to make a criss-cross, cutting the onion down the middle again and stopping a half-inch from the bottom. You should now ha ve 4 sections still attached at the bottom. Cut each of those sections down the middle (from the top), again stopping before you get to the root.

Place the onion, cut side up, in a large bowl, and cover completely with ice water. Allow to sit for 5 - 10 minutes, or until "petals" open up. (You can use your hands to gently help pry them open once they've been soaking for several minutes.) Remove the onion, and dry both the onion and the bowl.

Once both are dry, place the onion back in the bowl, with the petals up. Pour the egg substitute evenly over it, making sure to get in between all the petals (use your hands to separate them). Swirl egg substitute around so the bottom and sides of the onion get coated. Then flip the onion over to drain excess egg substitute. The entire surface of the onion should be covered lightly with egg substitute. Transfer onion to a separate, dry bowl. (You'll likely have about half the egg substitute left in the first bowl.)
Slowly sprinkle ground cereal mixture evenly over the onion, making sure to thoroughly coat each petal -- again, use your hands to separate them -- flipping the onion upside-down once you're almost done coating, so that the entire surface gets coated in crumbs. (If needed, spread a little more egg substitute on any dry spots to get the crumbs to stick.) Spray a baking dish with nonstick spray, and place the onion in it with the petals facing up.

Place dish in the oven and bake for about 40 minutes (until outside is crispy and inside is soft). Meanwhile, combine sauce ingredients. When onion is done, allow it to cool slightly. If you like, carefully cut out the center of the onion (so petals are easy to remove). Serve with sauce and enjoy! MAKES 2 SERVINGS

I think I need the Accountabilty though.

A little about me. I just turned 40 a couple weeks ago. I am the married mother of two. Ryan is 9 and Tiff is 3. Tiff has Special Needs and keeps me very busy. I am a SAHM but I also do bookkeeping out of the house. I currently have 6 accounts and am possibly looking for more. My DH is a Mechanic at a shop here in town and things have been real slow lately.

I started WW a week and a half ago. I lost 6.5 pounds my 1st week. Weigh Ins are on Thursdays. I am doing this with my G friend we don't go to meetings. There is only one out here in this small town we live in (Fallon) ,so far its working for us. This week was off to a rough start, but I am 100% on game today.

So how bout it room for one more?
I just had to say hi and welcome!
I am laughing at the similarities! i am a sahm, that works at home, my kids will be 9 and 4 in December! My husband is a mechanic! although, thank God, he got a new job in January, and he is actually doing something a little different, but he has worked at car dealerships for 17 years before this year! I was just cracking up at how much we have in common!

I am super excited about these soups!

I am STILL sick! i started with this last monday, so this makes Day 8. i went from a cold, to running a fever, to losing my voice, this morning, i woke up with a very heavy chest, feeling like a chest cold. i am still trying to eat good, but i am not exercising at all Last night i had the tuna casserole off the tried and true thread in this forum, and it was pretty good! huge portion for 3 pts, but it was a little bland, it needed something more, but still not bad

I also made the muffins from the HG cookbook, a can of pumpkin w/a devils' food cake mix, 12 muffins, they are huge muffins, for 4 pts. I was going to make 24 muffins, but i thought, i will end up eating 2 or 3 of them, why not make the bigger muffins, and take my time eating them, enjoying them, and only eating one? so i am trying that plan

good luck to tuesday weighers!

I made 24 and they were cheap looking. They are kinda dangerous in my house.....very yummy.

I'd really like to make the "dreamy chocolate peanut butter fudge" today. It may be good to make them today, then bring to my meeting tomorrow if I cant control myself.

My Wii Fit said I was down -1.3 from Wednesday. I've got another 24 hours to work off a little bit more

I took a 3.1ish mile walk........59 minutes
