I am down 1. Rachel, that shortcake sounds divine!! Recipe?
![]() I agree, I will not do the fruit for breakfast and lunch on Wed/Sun - just because fruit leaves me feeling hungry and it is optional, not necessary. I did the "free' Saturday night meal which left me feeling horrid! Good to know I can do it on a special occassion but will not do it every week. I love this way of eating, and I, too, hope I can lose vs just maintaining while eating this way, because it sure is enjoyable! Moretta, the portions are simple. Eat all you desire of veggies at lunch and dinner, and all you desire protein for lunch, 'light' protein amount at dinner. Dinner should be mostly (good) carbs. Pretty easy!

I like the idea of the fruit on Wednesday's and Sunday's. Summer is finally here and there is plenty of fresh seasonal fruit available for me to choose.

I'm not doing the fruit because my nutritionist set my plan to be:
breakfast: protein shake lunch: low carb dinner: high carb (but healthy ones, no junk!) So, I am not following the Jay Robb plan exactly, but I'm close enough that I would like to be able to post here with this group. ![]() |

I'm glad I found this group! I was going to start today, but since I was out of town over the weekend I need to run to the grocery store still. Tomorrow will be day one for me! I am looking forward to carbs being okay to eat! I am wondering how much weight lose can be expected. I know that he says 20 pounds in 30 days, but I wonder how much can be lost per week. I will be going on vacation again next Wednesday, so I really hope that I can stick to it thru that! Are any of you exercising as well?

I am doing an hour of Callanetics every day.
I'm at my "stuck" weight, so I'm hoping this will shake things up. I don't really believe that I can lose 20 pounds in 30 days with a high carb meal once a day, but if I could lose 4-8 pounds in 30 days, I would be very happy. |

Shalene, for the shortcake, I just used Hodgson's (?) whole grain baking mix. It's kind of like bisquick? I used xylitol instead of sugar or splenda. It was really yummy with sliced strawberries and a little bit of real whipped cream. These high carb dinners are so good and filling...I thought they'd turn me into an eating machine, but I'm actually full after a couple servings of whole grains and a little bit of fat and veggies. Got to love it!

Tori - thanks for the info! Sounds wonderful!
Rachel - you are doing his plan actually! The fruit is totally optional, so you are doing it just fine! I am down 2.5 today! Eating CARBS! I am amazed.Yesterday I ate: B- protein shake L- 2 cheeseburgers no bun D- chicken casserole - chicken, peas, crm of ckicken soup, topped with whole grain stuffing Today: B- 4 oz cottage cheese - (woke up late) L- chicken breast, green beans D- leftover chicken florentine casserole (chiken, spinach, diced tomato, whole grain noodles, cheese) I have not exercized in about 3 weeks now but am jumping back on the wagon. I am a mom of 5, ages 13 - 19, 4 girls, 1 boy, work FT, my husband has had 2 heart attacks....my life is busy, but I need ME time at the gym. It helps me stay sane and sleep better! BTW, after the first heart attack on a lowfat diet, my husband had a 2nd one and changed cardiologists, and was put on a lowCARB diet, now his bloodwork is PERFECT - and he has a family history of genetically high cholesterol and triglycerides. Lowcarb does work, he is living proof! |

A question for you ladies. Being on this plan do you feel satiated all of the time or most of the time?

Moretta, we love having you! The more, the merrier!
I DO feel satisfied/not hungry. And strangely enough, I do not have the bloated/sick/disgusting feeling after my high carb meal like I typically would have on Atkins if I 'cheated'. I think good carbs are the key. I am sleeping better and have more energy. If I can feel this way AND continue to lose, I'll be a very happy lady! |

Hi all!
I am still the same. My body likes this way of eating. I am very satisifed with the foods, though. I do struggle with emotional eating at night--but it's a battle that I am determined to fight and win (and it's always a struggle, no matter what foods I am eating!) It's happy to see preliminary results from you guys!Today's menu: breakfast: protein shake, doctored up lunch: salad with shrimp and feta dinner: ?? I have a date tonight!! Happy Tuesday everyone, will check back in later tonight!! Rachel |

I haven't been to the gym yet though. I'll find out tomorrow. I planned to go today but I ended up stuck in a meeting at work. ![]() My menu changed a bit from what I planned on this morning: Breakfast: Yougurt with 2 tbs of vanilla whey protein and 1 tbs powder fiber Lunch: Salad with turkey, 1/2 avacado, 1/4 c pineuts and 2 tbs full fat dressing Dinner: 1 cup whole grain thin pasta with meat sauce (ground beef, green peppers and stewed tomatoes) and sliced cucumber. I admit it, I'm nervous about getting on the scale tomorrow morning. I haven't had pasta in over a year! |

I finished 2 days of a "modified" Jay Robb Fat Burning Plan and have already lost a pound! I did cave in and have caffeine, but then again based on countless research via magazines and the plethora of resources available on the internet, caffeine is a friend not foe if taken in moderation.

I can't believe it! I am down another 2.5 today! 5 pounds in 2 days! And I am a slow loser. Hypothyroid and on hormone therapy. I am shocked!
![]() Not that I expect those results to continue throughout - I would be happy with a 2 lb per week loss. But my pants are practically falling off and I feel great! Whodathunkit? Sue - your menus look great! I han't had pasta in...well, I don't remember the last time! Rachel - I am glad you feel good, too! Have fun on your date. Lora - I have to admit I am having caffeine, too. I know he says try to limit it as well as artificial sweetners but I am not there yet. Not even close. Today: B- protein shake L- big salad with chicken breast and ranch D- 'beefaroni' made with whole grain noodles, hamburger, tomato sauce and cheese, slice of wholegrain bread |

I like this plan because it is a combination of low-carb, high-carb, moderate-carb.
I add more fat/protein enriched snacks in-between to help my workouts and feed my muscles. |

Happy Hump Day:
Shalene: Congrats you are doing amazing. I guess you found the plan that is working for you and your body. So happy for you. ![]() ![]() LowCarbRachel Happy to hear you had loads of fun on your date. Sounds like you are also doing great on this plan. I'm sure your body will soon be losing again. I'm in the same boat as you. My body is losing so slow since I only have approx. 5-7 lbs to loose. I was doing so well and boom my body has choosen to slow down now. This to shall pass.SuePro Can't wait to hear your results. I'm sure you will see some good positive results. LoraJR72 Congrats on your loss. ![]() I'm getting so motivated to start this plan soon, the only thing that worries me is the high carb days with grains included into it. I can tolerate grains etc., but my head is wrapped around low carb and hard to snap out of that mode. Talk to everyone later. ![]() |

Hi All -
I'm not on this plan yet, but on Day 2 of the Fruit Flush- considering going right into this or the 14 Day Fruit first and then into this one (I stocked up on LOTS of fruit that will have to be eaten!) Congrats on all the losses! Moretta -and others with grain/healthy carb fears - I was frightened also when switching off of Atkins induction after 10 weeks with no loss. After a few days with healthy grains and fruit added back in, the scales started moving down. So don't let it hang you up, it could be the change your body needs to get those last few off. Thanks for letting me watch how you're doing - -Tink

Hi all, I'd like to join . My name is Rae.
I've been doing Jay Robb high/low carb . then kinda got side tracked. I am back full force. I love it. So much more freedom and choices. I use Dreamfields Pasta. It is a low carb pasta and its not brown whole grain kind . It looks , and taste like regular pasta. I find it at Food Lion, Bi-Lo, Kroger. I've found even on high carb days that if my higest carb food is at lunch I show a better loss. I love this program. Rae |
