I have tried to lose weight many times before, but the accountability of stepping on the scale every Thursday is helping tremendously. I used to be able to talk myself into cheating, but not anymore. Accountability is the key to my success this time!!!

This really brought home the fact that I can't expect to overdo it on the weekends and still continue to lose weight each week. Maybe sometimes but not all the time. At the beginning of the week I was up about 3 pounds. Now if the scale hadn't been up I would have definitely shown a loss this week. I was a little worried about this weekend because my brother and nephews showed up. They're staying with us for the weekend and I know they love to order different stuff. After seeing that gain this week it doesn't matter what they order. I have my plan for the weekend and I'm going to stick with it.

The meeting was pretty good. She compared ww to a road trip and sometimes there will be bumps in the road or detours. You have to learn from those bumps and detours and get yourself back on track!! It was a good meeting and I left feeling better than I did when I first sat down.

Okay goal for next week...to see a new freaking number!!!! This yo-yo roller coaster ride is over and I"m getting off!!!!

I have some chicken defrosting that I plan on cooking on my indoor grill and I'm also going to cook some ground turkey to make a taco salad. Plus I have some fruit so I'm ready for the weekend!!
I am so proud of you for recommitting. I am so inspired by you Oraki. You really tell it like it is.

I hope you are all having a great weekend!!!!!!

Tuesday we did not think he would live. 2 surgeries later, slowly improving.
Tuesday my niece was driving with another niece and nephew and a car slowed for road construction and she must have been going to fast and hit the back of a car then a semi did not see that they had slowed and hit them from behind. My nephew died instantly and niece did few hours later. Third niece would be a blessing if God would take her.

I am so down also because I am eating junk from vending machine and my smaller clothes are to small. I am very certain that I have hit the 150's becuse I weight many times at the hospital. It seems to be my past time.I am home to get laundry done, fat girl pants and then back to hospital. I hope to return home late tomorrow evening if my brother continues to improve.

Miss you all. You are like friends to me.

Thanks Everyone for the warm welcome!

Has anyone else been using the Western 1 pt bagels? (110 cal, 0 fat, 7 fiber)

I really like them in the morning with a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese. It's 2 points, then you can add a protein or some fruit and you have a well rounded breakfast.

Oh... I also picked up Hungry Girls book at Sam's today. (Thanks, Reg for the head's up!) I am looking forward to cooking some recipes out of it and using many of the helpful hints! It's amazing all the things she can do with a can of pumpkin!!!

Have a great evening...Karla

Hey everyone!!!

I had a pretty busy day today. I attended a funeral for my uncle and I still have my brother and nephews staying with me. I'm so proud of myself, I went to the chinese restaurant to get everyone some food and I didn't order anything for myself! That felt really good. I didn't feel like the food had control of me instead I had control of the food!!! I won't lie I did eat a french fry and one piece of sesame chicken.

I'll post my food in a little bit. I didn't have any lunch since I wasn't here. I was hot anyway. I wasn't dressed in time to ride with my brother so I had to drive my car. Ugh...I won't complain though. At least I have something to drive. Hopefully we'll have our other car fixed very soon.

I decided to wear a dress that I've only worn maybe once a long time ago. I felt kinda unsure in it but it was the only thing that I had that I felt was appropriate for a funeral. After I put it on I thought I looked kinda cute!! I had my nephew take a picture. Maybe I'll post it later...

Well I need to just sit and relax for a bit.

BBL

Okay I'm getting her cookbook this week. I'll have to go by Walmart and hopefully they will have it. I haven't tried those bagels. My previous ww leader talked about using laughing cow cheese to make a faux alfredo sauce.

Welcome again!!!!

Congrats on the loss!! Hopefully all the activity will compensate for your eating. Even if you do show a gain I know you'll have it off in no time!!

Vi The turkey burgers are the Jennie O brand so I'm not for sure how many ounces the turkey burger was. It was one turkey burger and it's a pretty good sized burger. You should be able to find them in the freezer section of the grocery store. HTH

Happy Sunday, Rockstars!

Do wonders never cease? I found the Tofu noodles AND Baked Scoops at my grocery store today. I was in shock. I bought the angel hair and will tread lightly with my science experiement this week...not sure which recipe I will use them in, so many good ones in the HG cookbook.

Recipes on tap for this week from the book are:
Sweetie Fry Bananas w/Cream Cheese Frosting (tonight for desert...)
Sloppy Janes & Onion Rings(dinner on Monday)
Cobby Chop Salad (lunch on M, T, W)
Rockin' & Choppin Taco Salad (lunch on R & F)
Death by Chocolate cupcakes (DH's work is having a pot luck, he signed up for desert)

Not much else new...it was of course, a very social weekend w/lots of beer. I think after this week, I am considering changing my meeting day to Wednesday so I stop living large all weekend long. The only prob is, the Wednesday meeting is in the evening....
