Hello everyone, I've made it so far. I'm so use to eating low carb and not minding how much fat I eat, but I know I can break that habit. I'll try to post my menu later.

Excellent Salad recommendation, had it for lunch today, super filling:

Rockin’ & Choppin’ Taco Salad
(from the Hungry Girl Cookbook)

PER SERVING (1 salad): 286 calories, 3.5g fat, 920mg sodium, 42g carbs, 12g fiber, 7g sugars, 24g protein

5 points
Makes 1 serving

Ingredients
3 cups chopped romaine lettuce
2/3 cup low-fat veggie chili
¼ cup chopped tomatoes
¼ shredded fat-free sour cream
1 tablespoon chopped or sliced black olives
6 baked tortilla chips, crushed
½ teaspoon taco seasoning mix, dry

Directions
Prepare chili as directed on package, set aside.
Place lettuce in large bowl, top with tomatoes, add chili & cheese
Mix sour cream w/taco seasoning, put on top of salad, along with olives and crushed tortilla chips

I mixed it all up together...quite tastey!

Note: I couldn’t find baked tortilla chips, so I used a 100 calorie pack of Doritos.

Well, since Reg and Pammy had the Hungry Girl cookbook and said how good it was - I became very interested in it. Then, a girl at my WW meeting had the book as well. She was passing it around to a few of her friends. I thought, ok now - I just have to get this book! Well, I had to go to the groc store that's right next store to the WW center and I looked in the mini book section that they have. I thought, if they actually have the book here in their very tiny book section (I'm talking about a 20-30 book selection and that's it) then I just have to buy it! I couldn't believe that the store had the Hungry Girl cookbook!!!! I bought it last night and was flippin through it and can't believe how awesome it is!

Wanted to let everyone know I tried the Margarita recipe on p.244 - because I had lime juice already and had a couple cans of diet squirt (which I used for the diet lemon lime soda that it calls for). I also made them virgin margaritas because my kids would be sharing this with me and they would get a kick out of being able to drink a slushie/slurpee type drink. When I was done all blending it together and tasted the original recipe - it tasted GREAT! I love strawberry margaritas, so I added a few frozen strawberries to it as well. All I can say is I LOVE IT and my kids LOVE IT too!!!!

The Hungry Girl Cookbook is a cookbook that you will get plenty of use out of !! It's not a cookbook that you'll make one or two things from and then collect dust.

I got mine at COSTCO for under $11

You gotta try the Onion Rings

Dont forget to check out Hungry-Girl for pictures of every recipe and POINTS count

I made the Turkey Burgers (see my LCF Blog for recipe) and they turned out very good. I bought myself a great grilling pan last month and what a difference it makes. Easy for me to get a grilled result w/o waiting for DH to come home

I put the burger on an Arnolds Sandwich Thin roll with lettuce. Some raw veggies on the side. Very yummy.

I cut the recipe in half pretty much (I had 2.5# of ground turkey breast) and made 8 burgers anyway. If you plan on making this recipe check out the difference in "Lean Ground Turkey" and "Ground Turkey Breast". I use the breast.

Well, time for nap#2 (shhhh....dont tell), and work at 10.

I'll see you all on Friday.......after sleep. Have a great night !! Good luck to our Friday Weighers !!

Does the cookbook have pictures in them? I really got a thing about cookbooks with pictures.

I like that grill pan!!! I have a panini grill and sometime it's a hassle to pull that out. I'm going to have to look for one of these pans!!!

So was the turkey burger the best you've ever had?? I think I saw something on TV where Oprah said it was the best she'd ever had. I can't imagine putting apple in a burger though. Maybe I'll get brave one day and try it.

I had the same issue when I first started following WW. I still remember some of the things that I've learned with low carb but I've expanded what I eat and I'm much happier. I did learn some good things from low carb though. One is that I do much better during the day if I start off with some type of protein for breakfast. Protein is my friend. So you don't have to forget everything you've learned. I love the freedom of not having to eat low carb!!! The summer is here and it's great to be able to enjoy ALL the different fruits that are availabe now.

If you have any questions feel free to ask!

I've never ordered one at a restaurant. It was a nice burger......tasty. I'm not a fan of celery, but I followed the recipe and enjoyed it. It wasnt like eating White Chocoate Covered Pretzels tho.

I would make them again for sure !!

I like Trader Joe's Southwestern Turkey Burgers and Chili Lime Chicken Burgers, but they are frozen.
