For those on "Eat fat get thin"

I'm real curios how this differs from Atkins. I saw a post from someone that said she lost better on this plan then on Atkins. I read the sticky at the top of this page and it said this:
"Basically this plan is similar to Atkins except for the fact it's not an
all you can eat protein plan. First you figure out your lean body weight..
then divide it by 2.2 (to get kilograms), then multiply it by 1 or 1.5 to get the correct amount of grams of protein that you should take in..Too much will
act like carbs.

The percentages are what Barry is interested in..plus eating animal fats, plus
coconut and olive oil.

10-15 percent carbs/ 20-25 percent protein/60-70 percent fat..and eat according to your appetite..Some days you might be hungrier than other days."
Sounds like something straight out of the Atkins book. Still unclear how this differs from Atkins. Can someone clearify?
Thanks :-)

One main difference is no induction phase. You just eat in a way that you can for the rest of your life. Another big difference is Barry Groves' stand on so. It is a big no-no in his book, but Dr. A didn't seem to have a problem with it.

Another thing Barry really talks about that Dr. A. didn't "focus" on is getting enough protein without overdosing on it. Some peeps on Atkins think it's an all you can eat meat diet, but LC is about getting the fat to use for energy..not necessarily tons of protein.

Barry's plan doesn't say, like Zilla said, that you have to eat very few carbs to start..He wants you to find your "number"..whether it's 30-40-60 and still be on the cusp of ketosis.

Barry has an excellent book entitled Natural Health and Weight Loss that is very readable and deals with studies as well as different diseases that LC really helps.
