We are having crazy t-storms here in NY. Our lights went out a couple hours ago, and it looks like "Round 2" is moving in.

Going to shut my computer down for a bit.......will try to come back later.

Anyone gonna be around to play ?

Shelby and Flower......what do you have for us?

Thanks for the new thread! If you all don't mind, I thought it would be good, and helpful to talk about some of our low point foods. I know on the dwlz site, my fave section is 'food that keep us OP' i always look there for tips. So maybe do bk this week, lunch next, and so on? that will give people that dont check in every day to catch up.

So, my question for this week is, what do you like to have for breakfast? What is a low point breakfast that helps keep you on plan?

My favorite breakfast is the WW amaretto cheesecake yogurt (1 point) and a piece of fruit, and black coffee
I also like to make smoothies with skim milk, a banana, a tbsp of better n peanut butter and an envelope of s/f carnation chocolate instant breakfast powder. This is my favorite on my workout days. It's higher in points but worth it to me because it contains alot of protein and keeps me going

Ok, here's what I've been making for breakfast lately - it's very easy, tasty and filling. I came up with this because I was looking for a quick way to make eggs.

Microwave Omelet

1 egg
sauteed veggies
2 T. shredded cheddar cheese or WW 1 point cheddar cheese
little bit of skim milk, or half n half mixed w/ water
salt & pepper & other preferred seasonings
tiny bit of olive oil

First, cut up whatever veggies you like. I like tomatoes, green peppers and onions so that's what I use. Then take a little olive oil and the veggies and put them in a microwavable bowl and cook it for a few minutes until veggies are nice and soft - just like you sauteed them in a pan. Then, take egg and milk and seasoning - I like to add salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and mix that up and cook in microwave for 2-3 minutes - until it's completely cooked as a cute little omelet. I then top with 1 piece of the WW cheddar cheese or 2 T. of shredded cheddar cheese and cook for another 30 seconds or until cheese is melted.

It's very flavorful and fast and I really like it! The way I make it, the omelet is 4 points. I add a piece of fruit with the omelet and I'm full and satisfied for a 5-6 point breakfast, depending on what fruit I choose.

I pretty much have oatmeal every day for breakfast. I use the plain kind in the individual pouch and add cinnamin, raisins, spenda, and one tsp of olive oil. You cannot taste the oil and it gets in one of my oils. I add hot water to this mix and let it absorb the water then I add a bit of FF half and half. I actually like it and I find it lasts me thru to lunch time. I count it as 3 pts!

If you view your eating plan as so rigid and uncompromising that you cannot have some of your favorites - then how can you possibly expect to succeed in maintaining your weight loss (let alone getting to goal)?

Wow, there are some great ideas in here, thank you so much! My favorite is

lite english muffins (1)
WW american cheese(1)
1/4 c eggbeaters (the one w/peppers in it) cooked (1)
slice of canadian bacon (2)
Egg McMuffin, it fills me up.

Generally, i have coffee first, and dont eat until like 9 or 10...but I dont know if that is working, well, obviously it isnt!

Kimmer, I am restarting today too. Sent my husband back to work, and so i only have to worry about me and the kids this week, and I hope that will be easier.

I already did my 30 minute walk this morning, pushing my 3yr old in the stroller. Having some coffee.

B: Oatmeal pack (3) 1C mixed fruit (1)
L 1/2C white rice, (3) Leftover beans and sausage (6)
S ??
D big salad (1) oil and vinegar dressing (3) cheese (1) Croutons (1)
either hot dog on a bun (both lite), or a baked potato.

hot...apparently we're gonna hit 105....I'm baking over here..

it was hectic good...a good friend had her bridal shower in New Paltz so I went up there left the city around 930 to get up there and it was awesome!!!!

Then coming from church yesterday I took the train home and there was a power outage that affected the train system so we were just sitting on the train...blah

but Friday I bought my plane ticket to see my grandma in St. Lucia who is really sick (I'm asking God for a miracle because he's still a God of miracles)
they won't tell us whats really going on..my grandma probably told them not to tell us...but my cousin thinks she has cancer and the hospital sent her home to die....because they could do nothing for her...

But God is still good! I still have my faith! So I'll be gone for a little bit

Hiya folks! We finally got all of our stuff moved in to the new place and cleared out the old one. We got our internet at the new place hooked up last night, too, so that's nice. There is still a ton of unpacking to do, though. *sigh*

I stepped on my scale a little reluctantly Saturday night and got a pleasant surprise that carried over to my Sunday morning weigh in ... I was down 8.2 pounds! I had been up something like 4 pounds the week before, but that's still a solid loss. Of course, then, yesterday was my brother's birthday, and we all went out to Montgomery Inn (a local favorite barbecue place that is DELICIOUS!) and I was worried, but I ordered a salad with FF honey mustard dressing, skipped the bread, stared at the appetizers that everyone else was indulging in, and got grilled chicken with a baked sweet potato, and only used 1/4 of the cinnamon sugar butter that came with it. I even had the server bring me a box when she brought the food out, and I just carved off half a chicken breast and put the rest away. I left feeling satisfied, not stuffed, and knowing I had made good choices.

I don't really enjoy breakfast much, to be honest ... but, I really like the Curves cereal ... it's flakes and it's rather tasty with a packet of splenda and skim milk. A 3/4 cup serving with 1/2 cup of milk is just shy of 3 points, but I usually don't use as much milk as that. Another favorite is light yogurt with fruit and/or low fat granola. I also like to make breakfast burritos any time of the day, with scrambled egg beaters, ff cheese, peppers and onions cooked in a little olive oil to get that healthy fat in, all wrapped in a 1 pt tortilla. I have one of those for lunch now and again, and it's pretty filling.

Okay, I have spent too long here already ... gotta get back to work. I will try to check in later!
