Rapid Fat Loss - Lyle McDonald
This is a book put out by Body Recompisition called "Rapid Fat Loss, a Scientific Approach to Crash Dieting" by Lyle McDonald.
I wanted to jump start my weight loss program and have heard really good things about Lyle (this is a modified PMSF diet). Has anyone tried this, was it successful and I'd love to know what your daily menu was like or if you came up with anything creative and tasty. I still need to read through it all and come up with a game plan, but wanted to see if anyone else here has any experience with it. Thanks! |

Hey Harlow, check out the PSMF thread. There are a lot of folks on there that use RFL. I haven't made it all the way through the book yet, but I'm already incorporating some of his ideas.

Yep...we have 2 psmf threads here in this "other diets" section, where most of us are doing Lyle's diet, or a modified version of it.
I personally chose this diet not necessarily for the "fast" weight loss claims, but because my leptin levels had fallen so low after months and months of low fat, low carb dieting -- with no cheats, that the hungry monster decided it didn't want me to get any thinner. So in that regard, yes, the Rapid Fat Loss Diet has been a success for me. I'm now below my set point. I've only done 1-1/2 diet rounds so far, but the body RE-composition has been amazing. While I haven't lost all that much on the scale, about 5 pounds of fat the past few weeks, it has made a NOTICEABLE difference in my appearance. My jeans are baggy, my extra large tee shirts now hang on me, where both were skin tight when I first started this diet. So just keep that in mind when you read everyone's stats on those psmf threads, that body recomposition is what we're after. Fat loss, not necessarily weight loss. Cuz they aren't the same thing. If you read through those 2 threads, you will find lots of food ideas, as each time we discover something new, or even our everyday stuff, (there are folks there who post their menus almost daily,) we post it in those threads. We are planning on starting a new thread each month, and you are certainly welcome to join us. |
