I once did Atkins and lost 35 lbs. in 3 months. I was delighted, but felt so deprived all the time. I am now really enjoying WW and as I stated above - I really love it that I can eat fruit again!!! I realized I didn't want to feel deprived anymore and knew that WW would be a bit slower - but I am ok with that because I have the freedom to choose what I eat!
It took me a couple of years because I took "breaks" inbetween the losing part. We moved and I gained some back and then lost all of it again. Now I know that I need to learn Food Choices not leave anything out. I'm so excited this time, I think because I've changed my mind set.
HAPPY DAY BEFORE FRIDAY!!

Doing well, really need a payday to go to the store and buy some food!!!!

My Menu:

1/2 Peanut butter sandwich made with all natural PB, whole wheat nutty bread and the most fabulous homemade strawberry jam that I bought in TEXAS!!!! It was delish!!!!!

= 6 points

Lunch WW chicken enchs and rice = 6 points (according to the box)

Dinner ????? Not sure~~~I've just been eating what the family is eating and counting my points and not eating so much.

It's been so hot and it's also TOM week, I really haven't been hungry when I get home.

Good morning Rockstars!

Congratulations Reg on entering ONEderland!!! I cannot wait to join you there someday. Sorry about your friend. I know that grief has it's own timetable.

Kimmerj: I thot that picture was you too. I was wondering what you was doing here if you looked like that. ha ha ha One thing ww's is preaching now is that it is not a diet! It is a lifestyle. That is important because a diet mentality can set us up to fail.

In our meeting this week we talked about protecting our motivation during the summer. The subject of "cheating" came up and our leader said there is no cheating. If you choose to have something like ice cream or pizza or whatever than you will need to eat less around it that day or the next. Sort of planning your "cheats." But "cheat" is a word we need to change. That is a diet mentality.

Like saying you can never have a certain kind of food again in your life is a set-up too. That is why WW's has such a good history. There isn't much food that you cannot have.

Has anyone ever tried PB2? It's a powdered peanut butter that's only 1 point for 2 T. of it. I use peanut butter all the time, and am always looking for a lower cal/lower fat version of it and I think I found it with the PB2. I would try the better n peanut butter - but it's so expensive and I'm afraid I wouldn't like it. Maybe I will try it someday.

Anyway, I decided to order PB2 and here's the link if anyone is interested:

Bell Plantation - PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter - Home

If anyone has tried it, I'd love to know how it is!!! I've heard good things about it so far!

I have always had a weight problem. I was a WW life time member by the 10th grade! By the time I was in 11th Grade, it wasn't much of a problem because I was taking 8 classes a day, no breakfast, no lunch and dinner was a WW meal or a bar.

So I was living on about 800 calories a day, I didn't notice because I was so busy. (I would notice now! ) Then I got married, then got pregnant and gained and gained and gained. I never lost all the weight from the first child then 9 years later was pregnant again at 200 pounds. After that I fought all the time with the weight, tried every diet that came along and failed at every diet that came along.

THEN: About six years ago, I found and I lost 80 pounds on Atkins, Just Atkins, I guess you would call it the "72 Atkins". I ate alot of meat and vegis, nothing else. No, what I call "extras". All the fake foods that are out there. Anyway I was at goal for all of maybe two weeks,

Then of course I the little voices in my head, you're at goal now you can eat that! And guess what happened??? I had to come to realize that I couldn't have everything that I wanted to eat. And that's my struggle. I HAVE TO TELL MYSELF NO! Which is very hard, because the word NO is one that I don't like to hear.
Wow KimmerJ that is some story doll! Glad you found us.

I'm the same way w/ telling myself NO! however it's been over 5 weeks and I didn't die yet.

What I did this week is drank a lot of water, like a gallon of water everyday. It may sound like a lot - but I have a 24 oz. cup and I just drink from that. I just make sure I drink at least 5-6 cups of water a day, sometimes more depending on how I feel. The water has really made a difference and I'm finding that I don't have much water retention after eating salty foods anymore.

I also had promised myself I would exercise 30 minutes a day and really stick with it. So, everyday I do a 1 mile WATP dvd (15 min) and I ride my exercise bike for 15 min.
Hooray for you flower!!!!!!!!!

I love WATP too Leslie is so motivating and I don't feel like I need a choreographer!

It is that diet mentality that kept me 'cheating' or eating off program/plan. I haven't strayed once in 5 weeks now on WW and I think that will make all the diff!

Thanks Vi! Yes, I totally agree with you that Leslie is so very motivating and her dvds are so easy to follow! I look forward to them everyday! That's why I do the 1 mile walk one and told myself that I CAN DO 15 minutes a day of walking - EVERYDAY and 15 minutes on my ex. bike. So far, I've really been making myself do this and it's been working! I always feel so good after getting my exercise done for the day!

Also wanted to say that I had 2 pieces of pizza hut cheese pizza for dinner last night. I drank about 96 oz. of water yesterday, which is a lot lower than I normally have been drinking - at least 1 gallon, sometimes more. I love water, so I don't mind drinking it. Sometimes I add lemon juice to it to give it a little flavor and sometimes I'll even add a little sweetner like stevia or splenda to make my own lemonade.

Anyway, before I started drinking a lot of water - every time I would eat a few pieces of pizza or chinese food or anything salty - my scale would go up a few lbs. from it. I'm so happy to say that drinking a lot of water is really helping me! I've had homemade pizza and even breakfast sausage - and those both had a lot of salt in them and the scale didn't go up after eating these! I was so happy!

Last night was a real test with the Pizza Hut pizza! And guess what - my scale was only up 1/2 pound this morning, which is great to me!!!! Normally, I gain an easy 2-5 lbs. after eating pizza, isn't that crazy? It may not have even been from the pizza, because I did eat some nuts late last night before bed and I try not to eat right before I go to sleep.

It's something so simple, but I'm so happy that I figured out I need to drink a lot of water and then I don't have to worry about salty foods so much!!! This is great!
