Good morning, all!
I lost one ounce, ha ha. One is better than none, right? At least the numbers 1 3 and 5 are showing up on my scale, in that order, ha ha. I was thinking about how I was disappointed, and then I thought FOR WHAT?!! I have taken a BIG step towards reaching my goal weight. I made a commitment. I kept it! I took ACTION! I reestablished my window! I am excited about lowcarbing again! I lost over 11 pounds and over 15 inches! I am in a size 4 or size 5. It's time to celebrate!!![]() ![]() ![]() I'm at work, so I have to keep this quick! I'll check in a little bit later!! Have a happy fat burning day, all! Rachel |

You're doing great Rachel!!! Barb - Hi! Just had to say your graphics are so very cute and so fun to look at! I always smile when I see them, they're so cheery! Missalissa - good luck on those protein shakes. Sorry to hear you don't like to drink your protein all that much. Hope you get the results you are looking for!

Thanks for the new site. Been gone a few days having a skin cancer cut off my nose, then a skin graft done. Feeling kind of beat up, but at least it's done.
Basal cell, not the deadly kind. Question, I don't have problem staying within 5 hours for my main meal, but is ok to sometimes have protein shakes outside the window, like first thing in am or last thing at night-I mean, does it defeat the whole purpose??? Some of my meds are supposed to have some food with them. I am glad to be home and back to this way of eating, it's pretty comfortable. |

Dr. Eades said you could have 100 calories out of your window and he still considered it "fasting". I say do whatever you need to as far as taking your meds. Take care! |

Thanks Missalissa-the shake I have is 100 cals, straight protein, so I could have a 1/2 or maybe one with the pills and do just fine. Feels right.

Just got back from the pool. Got lots of movement in. Mall walk this morning, then lots of errands. I'm pooped. Sunburned. Parched. Time to catch up on my fluids.
Turns out I accidentally took my cell phone in the water w/ us and didn't realize it for over an hour. <sigh> Don't do that again... I had coffee, protein shake, burger and 1.5 hot dogs w/ 2 kosher dills, almonds and dark chocolate. Dinner is I don't know yet. I bought some salami and I've got cream cheese and green olives. I may just make a meal of that.. Make an early night of it because I'm tired.. ![]()

Hey everbody !
Just poppin in to say hello to all....you guys are doing great ! I am so proud of all of us, for keep on keeping on ! I will have to make this quick.....I am so tired tonight and I still have another couple of hours of project work to try to get done. Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday ! I am maintaining at my 132 this week, without much variance, so I am very happy about that......maybe I will think about calling goal at 130.....I had set my goal range as 125 to 135, so I could have some wiggle room, but I think "mentally" it is about time for me to proclaim I am at goal.....I think this will help me move into the final and most important stage; maintenance ! So maybe this is something I will get to do within the next couple of weeks ! "GOAL"....gotta love that word.... finally and at last ! That will be a Happy Day ! ![]() ![]() ![]() Well, I am gonna run for now.....I am keeping up with all you guys and reading all the posts everyday, even though I might seem "absent" I am right here, cheering you all on ! Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend ! Hugs to everyone ! ![]()

Happy Thursday night, all!
Well, I've got some pretty amazing news. I have lost 24" total in three weeks. ![]() ![]() I'll take a final weight tomorrow to wrap up this first phase, but I've got to say that 24" makes it worth it, no matter what the scale says in the AM. I will get some new pictures taken this weekend.I am ready for phase 2! I have plain yogurt with peanut butter and heavy cream waiting for me in the fridge. And a flax seed muffin. That will be my lunch. I craved yogurt+peanut butter more than anything in this first phase, so I'm pretty happy to start eating those things in a window again tomorrow. I may treat myself with a little cream in my coffee tomorrow AM, too. Carolina, you are so close to maintenance! It's exciting to see! What will you change/keep the same once you hit your goal weight? Melissa, your day sounds like fun--good for you for keeping those low carb items handy! Elaine, glad you made it through your procedure safely. I think a little bit of a protein shake should be fine. Gracie, sometimes it's good to "think aloud" about our plans. I'm excited about doing a more whole foods approach to low carb this time around. Finally got the Diet Coke out of my system and plan to only play with stevia as a sweetener in my yogurts and protein shakes. This will be the cleanest low carb I have ever done...and it's exciting! Missa, I loved that quote so much that I sent it to two friends! Thanks for always being so supportive! Flower, thank you for all your cheerleading! And WTG on those three pounds down on the scale. That must feel awesome! Barb, I've still got some fat burning to do, too! I'm thinking that a summer of low carb eating in a window and exercising will get me there, one ounce at a time. I'm not in a race to lose my last 8-9 pounds...it's going to be a slow and steady journey. I will celebrate each day that I take the actions to get to my goal, no matter what my scale says. Time for bed!! See you all in the AM!! Rachel |

Those results are awesome, and that doesn't begin to describe how happy I am for you. Good morning! Wow, I am glad I didn't quit at the end. I lost another pound! This morning, the scale reads at 134.9. That's 12.3 pounds in three weeks. I'm pleased!
Gracie, I did measure three places on my belly, so that's tummy, belly button, and waist included in those stats. I had my daughter help me with my measurements to make sure they were fairly accurate. I was down 15" at my 10 pound mark and to find that I'd lost another 9" during what I thought was a very slow lose period...well that's pretty encouraging! Barb, I was not allowed to exercise during the first phase due to the low amount of calories and carbs in the diet. However, I am pretty happy about being able to add exercise back in THIS phase. Yes, the new phase that starts today!! YAY!! Happy Friday AM everyone!! ![]() |

Hi everyone,
Well, I didn't do well on TSF. I didn't like the Protein Shake, and four of them was just gross!!! So, I've been keeping my window at 12 to 6, exercising at night, and wondering what I can do to get this weight off. Total low carb is very hard for me. I have cravings and no willpower! I feel like such a failure in this group!!! You guys are all doing so well. Going towards goal and I've been the same for 6 months! Ugh!!! It's so frustrating! Theresa |

Theresa, you are not a failure in the least. You can do this--you just need to find the right "click." I fought and fought and fought low carb--and then I started doing it, and I started seeing results, and it all fell into place, with no cravings and no hunger. Now I am excited about doing it!
The great thing about an induction period is that you will get that initial "surge" of water weight loss and that can be very motivating. It sounds like you need a craving busting strategy--what have you tried that has worked and not worked? Maybe we can help you find a way to do low carb and get a loss jumpstarted for you. P.S. I was at this weight last summer and saw my goal briefly at Christmas. Now I'm "backtracking" to make up for my emotional eating this winter/spring. I've had great results the last three weeks...but it's kind of like I am making up for a big OOPS. A year later, and I'm refighting for my goal weight. So, don't feel like I've made a ton more progress than *you*...I have just posted ALOT about my recent loss to keep me motivated and on this plan. |

I'm so sorry to hear that you are feeling "down" about yourself. Please listen to Rachel's advice.Have faith that you will be successful at finding a way of eating that will be perfect for you. When I started low carb eating last year, I allowed myself some low carb sweet treats & diet soda with a Tablespoon of heavy cream to get me through the cravings. I also eat 88% or 85% dark chocolate. As I progressed during this past year, I was able to cut down on most of the "treats" and do a cleaner low carb way of eating. I also allowed myself "indulgence" dinners out every 5 or 6 weeks. Lyle McDonald has an e-boook on Flexible dieting. Also George Stella has lots of useful info & his website or books might be of help to you. You may want to check these two suggestions out & see if either one is a good fit for you. We're here for you, so please keep posting & trying. Hugs, Barbara

I have been about same weight for almost 2 years, and in that time, believe me, frustration was something I was feeling on a daily basis. I've since come to the conclusion that I will be eating the way I have, because I know it is the healthiest route to go....if I lose....wonderful!! Basically, you could say that I'm maintaining. I would love to be 15 lbs. lighter, and a few %s down in body fat, but I need to be careful about my caloric intake because of my age, so I won't compromise my good health. Have you done a complete Induction???

Theresa, Will add to the above encouragement, after years and years of dealing with my food addiction, I am STILL fine tuning what works. I know lowcarb works. I know I stall a lot. I THINK that the IF added to that is going to be something that will help me a lot, right now I am toying with using small protein shakes when I have to have a little something on the outside edge of my window, and trying to figure out when and how long the window will be, sometime between noon and six.
The good news is that I seem to be back to signature weight in spite of being gone and restaurant eating while I was having the surgery. Tried to stay close to the window then, too, and I think that is what saved me from gaining. Was a relief to get home and being able to control my food a little better. Good luck to all of us. |

Thanks so much Rachel and Barb for your encouraging words!!! I feel great on low carb so why do I fight it?? I think because no one I know personally as in my group of friends or famiy low carbs! And I see them eating carbs and staying thin, and wonder why I can't!
And then I do always have a few drinks on the weekends. Can that be worked into low carb? You have no idea how much this helps to read your replies and vent here. I guess I should try induction again and be clean and strong? Theresa |
