Happy Saturday morning all!
My backyard is finished and alll the painting is almost done. They just need to finish the hallway and the kitchen and some trim work. New carpet will be installed early next week. The cost for Pergo was almost twice as much...and they'd already ordered the carpet that I'd selected. But I'm fine with it, it was my original choice, anyway, and if I stay here for a long time, I can always do Pergo in the future. Mark and I wound up going out last night. I wasn't sure that I was going to be free but when he called and I was, he drove over here and got me. We went for a late night walk at the park. It was so beautiful and romantic, the temperatures was perfect and the sky was filled with stars. His son is in a baseball tournament tonight, but I might see him after that. His interest levels are very high, and it's quite flattering. He's tall, with blondish-reddish hair, pretty athletic, and he's got the nicest blue eyes.I was up late, so I'm going to make some coffee and will be back to post. Today I am going to go shopping for small things like curtains and lamps. It will be fun. ![]() P.S. My scale hasn't changed, but Callanetics and walking is changing my body shape. I wore a size 6 skirt out last night and had to keep pulling it up. When I changed for bed, I was almost able to pull the skirt off without unbuttoning it. I am in a 4 in some things, but this skirt has never been loose, especially not straight from the dryer. Have a fabulous Saturday, all! Last edited by LowCarbRachel : 06-28-2008 at 10:17 AM. |

I wanted to ask is you've tried T-Tapp Rachel? I've heard good things about both the Callanetics and T-Tapp. Looking for something I can do in addition to walking, swimming, that won't take 'equipment' other than me.
![]() I hope you'll be sharing pictures of your finished jewel of a home!! Good luck w/ Mark. Last night sounds romantic. ![]() |

![]() Happy Sunday IFers, Taking a little break from cleaning and rearranging furniture. Hubby had to go to the store to get something for me, so thought I'd take a break and come to see what's happening. My weight has stabilized, but am wearing yet another pair of shorts that didn't quite fit. Funny though, my measurements haven't changed. But, my really good news is that hubby has lost 5 lbs. since he's started. We started him about 3 weeks ago, but he truly had a difficult time getting started, so, this week, starting in earnest, even with cheating once, he's down 5 lbs. I can't tell you how happy that makes me, as I've been telling him about low carb since he was first diagnosed with Type 2. I stopped 'telling' him and just left hints, e mailed articles, and of course by my example, HE decided that he was going to at least 'try' it. Now, he has the tools, and the motivation from the lost lbs. to keep it going. I'm so proud of him!!! ![]() Gotta get back to my cleaning! Will check in a bit later......... Ciao~~

Hi everyone,
I had an awesome time last night with my handsome husband!!! We went out for dinner, sat outside and were entertained by a three man band singing Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, etc. the weather was perfect also. For the rest of the summer our Saturday nights are booked with graduation parties, and birthday parties. Our kids are graduating high school, and many of us are turning 50 over the next year. So there will be many more parties throughout the year. So I knew he and I should take this opportunity to reconnect and have a date night. We have a great marriage and I feel so blessed for it! So even though I cheated a little bit last night, I'm back on track today by staying in my window and working out!!! There's a pair of size 8 shorts I'm hoping to fit back into by Saturday!!! That's my motivation! Hope everyone has a great Sunday. God bless you and love to all! Theresa |

Good morning!
Hope you are all having a happy Sunday morning! Melissa, I haven't tried T Tapp but it looks like it's based on a similiar philosophy as Callanetics. I like all those kinds of workouts and used to do another one called Lotte Berk. It was a very romantic date, and we're going out this afternoon. Theresa, I love it when I hear good things about people's significant others. I keep seeing that there ARE good men and good relationships out there and it brings me hope that I can be blessed with a good guy, too. Sounds like a very romantic evening. I am pulling for you and those size 8 shorts. You can do it!!Gracie, with my weight not budging, I'm finding contentment in looser clothes and a slightly different body shape. I am happy for your husband and his preliminary results. YAY! Happy Sunday, all around, see you all later! Rachel |

Yes, there are good men out there and wonderful relationships; your day is coming!! Being content with your body, in my estimation, is crucial. Well, we're done, and I'm breathing a sigh of relief...we sure did accomplish a lot. Re-arranged all the furniture in the living room, vacuumed, dusted, cleaned out drawers and organized, washed all the floors, and now, feel too pooped to pop! House is smelling so fresh and clean and I have my Lamp Berger going.....aah, so soothing!! Now, tomorrow we have to tackle the back end of the house.....well, maybe the next day! ![]() Want to get myself some fresh cold lemon water........bbl! Hello Everyone!
Well, it turned out that my family and I didn't have to spend the night at my Aunt's house because a good portion of my cousins and other aunt couldn't make it. My Aunt is the one with the large camper, so therefore we had no where to sleep - so decided to just drive home (YAY!). I don't know why, I just don't like spending the night anywhere other than my own home. So, because of that my parents, kids and I drove for 8 hours total yesterday. I was so very tired when I got home late last night - but so glad to be home! Ya know, everything worked out alright. I woke up on saturday about 5:30 a.m. to get in 15 minutes of exercise and get a few other things done, get myself ready, get my kids fed and ready and leave by 7:30 a.m. I packed plenty of low carb snacks for myself and we ended up stopping on the way there for lunch. I ended up getting a chicken caesar salad. When we got there a few hours later - the food turned out to be pretty good too. At first, I was worried because I saw tortilla chips, doritos, cheese balls, cupcakes, cake, candy - I told you, a lot of high carb junk! But, when the actual dinner was served - it was fried chicken (I ate chicken and did not eat the breading), they had a taco bar - which I thought was cool. I ate taco meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream and loved it! They also had cheddar cheese cubes and peanuts. I had some of those as well. So, it was a tasty dinner to me and so glad there were several lower carb options there! I also took another 15 minute walk while I was there and drank a lot of water! I did great getting my exercise done and drinking lots of water, but did have a piece of cheesecake which was not sugar free. Well, I hope the fat and protein of the cream cheese will balance out the sugar, lol!!!! So, even though I was pretty good yesterday - at night my feet were a little swollen. Could have been because we were outside all day and I was running around with my kids for most of the day. Anyway, I saw that the scale is up a few pounds this morning. I thoroughly expected that though. So, now it's on to getting those few lbs. off and more! Ok, so today I'm catching up on a few things and will decide for sure what I want to do tomorrow. I was thinking of induction - I just don't know yet. I might just stick with my lower carb eating, water and exercise everyday! I do want to experiment to try to figure out what foods might stall me. I really think it might be yogurt &/or eating too much cheese in one day. I'm going to also pay attention to cream cheese as well. As soon as I find out if any of these stall me, I'll try to stay away from it - or at least really limit my portions of these foods. Rachel - I'm so happy you had a nice time with Mark! That's great too that your skirt fits loosely! I bet your home looks great now, have fun shopping! Sazzie - that's so wonderful that your husband has lost 5 lbs. so far!!! Yay! I know you are so thrilled and I am so happy for you! It's amazing that when the husbands finally listen to their wives they realize the wives were right the whole time, lol! Theresa - That's great you had a wonderful time with your husband! We all need to make sure we plan special time with our significant others because time goes by too fast!

Hi all!
Mark was delayed just a bit (his sister is in town) so we decided to go and see a movie at 6PM. I spent the day shopping for art for my room and picking up some cute black sandals and a new little purse at Ross. Got some great deals! ![]() Flower, so good to have you back The taco bar is a great idea! I am going to try that sometime. Gracie, thank you. I'm just going to relax and enjoy this one! What a fun summer this is turning out to be for me. I'm really lucky.I made some new goals for July. I'm trying to align everything I've learned in a plan that will allow me to continue reshaping my body. Not going to worry so much about the scale at this point. So, I am going to alternate Callanetics and walking each day and go back to a 12-6 window, healthy vegetarian meals during my window, lunch will probably be low carb, dinner will probably be higher carb but still healthy. I'm going to buy some different kinds of teas (iced) and I'll drink those at night when I'm feeling the need to graze. |

Hi all,
Another great date with Mark. We went to see a movie and then went out for dinner. It was hard to say good night, but we both have to be at work in the morning. Now I can't sleep, thinking about how much I like him. I'm going to try in a minute, though.Today's meals: lunch...scrambled eggs and brown rice snack...spoonful of peanut butter dinner...shrimp caesar salad Today was a walking day, got a nice walk in this morning. ![]() |

good morning gals ( & any occasional guy who may come one).It has been an interesting time since I last posted. I got the new position- was told I would have 40 hrs. plus- well they neglected to tell me that part of those hours were considered sleep pay, and at a flat rate, not hourly. So I am not too happy about that- as it figured out to less than half hourly rate.
I am sticking to my w/o/e, but not seeing results as I would like. I do not know why this is- and is frustrating as all get out. My clothes are looser- but the scale is almost up to where it was when I started this! I KNOW I have not strayed off plan THAT much- 3 twizzlers, and a bit of indulgence ONCE at a buffet-... sigh. I guess it could be the stress of starting a new job, and the rest of it.ANYHOW- good Monday morning to all- hope the best for all this week!

Good Monday morning everyone! Hope all is well in the land of IF.
We had a great time at DD's birthday party. A wicked little thunderstorm decided to arrive and we had to cut the swim party short, but a great time was had by all. This was her party theme. The beach ball cake was made by a friend of mine. ![]() ![]() My scale has been doing some wicked scale bounces lately. Doesn't normally do that with IF, so I have no choice but to believe it's the BCP. CRAP! It's really started to jack with my head! I am now forming a plan of attack. I will probably just go back on Induction until I can get everything to level off. Will let you know what I decide. This is going to be a crazy week. This weekend camp at church starts and there's lots to be done between now and then. For a couple of days I am going to stick to my window and watch what I eat a little closer and see if it will straighten itself out. Hope everyone has a blessed day!

Greetings to Paloma, Missalissa, MelissaF., Carol Ann, CarolinaSweetie, 50by50, Elaine & everyone else reading this thread I had a busy weekend - picked out Pergo flooring to replace the damaged flooring & finally ordered a new HDTV 37". It will probably take till the middle or end of July to get my Condo back into shape but I'm just going to chill about it. I had too much Carbsmart Ice Cream yesterday afternoon & spent many hours in the bathroom. I was thinking with all the distress that I would have seen the scale go down, no such luck. It's o.k. because I won't be buying or eating this anytime in the future, LOL! I'm off to have my hair highlighted & take care of some business calls. Have a wonderful Monday everyone. Will BBL to check in with everyone ![]()

I'm here. Still sick, but feeling like I'm finally making some progress in getting this gone. Even w/ no exercise from Thursday on, I'm still losing. Down in the 297's today - can't remember what the .# was, though. lol Need my coffee. I
'm finding it hard not to fall back into previous patterns of 'what if' with weight loss goals and time-frames. It's even harder this time because I feel I've found my trifecta, that it's all working together - I won't be cheating on myself ever again, the LC/IF WOE is working so well, and the exercise helps give it that extra boost.... So - IF I can lose 10 per month I can get to under 200 by next May for my 11th anniversary and my 34th birthday. I will be working on myself in the next few weeks to try to take it as it comes rather than try to force it. My anniversary will come, I'll be another year older, and I could be 20 down from here or 100. Falling down, failing myself, cheating is definitely not going to get me to goal at all. So - I will do what I know will get me there, and take the #'s as they change. (I'll try) lol Have a great IF Monday y'all! Can't believe tomorrow starts a new July thread! Time is flying!!

My weight has been playing mind games with me as well, and it's 'pitful' as my aunt used to say! I lost in the beginning of the week, then it upped back to my siggy weight. I'll probably see this number for about 2-3 days before it decides to go down a few tenths......whippee doo.....(sarcastic tone) I must be in the spring cleaning mode a little late, cause this morning, I cleaned out another drawer and re-organized it, and got my freezer cleaned and ready for a shipment of meat from the Wellness Center. Well, I have a schedule this morning, so want to finish up before I don't! ![]() |

Wow, really? I know I can do it - the sticking to it w/o deviation will be the key. Back when I hit my highest weight of 330 because of a high-carb diet and medication that had me from 284 to 330 in 1.5 months (O..M..G!!) my doc suggested I consider WLS. At first I was tempted because I was so crushed to see 330! Then my natural stubborn-@ss tendencies kicked in and I decided to give myself 6 months to do it on my own. I did a no-sugar plan like Somersizing (just kept telling myself protein, fat, and veggies) and I ate like I'd had the WLS - 1 cup portions at 3 meals per day, no snacks, etc. I lost 60+ pounds in just a few months. But, then I started having gallbladder attacks again (I remember my 1st attack when I was 9 years old) and ended up having surgery, moved a month later, got pregnant, moved twice more, bought a house, and to say I got off track after the surgery would be an understatement. I feel like I'm finally back on track and it's only taken 3.5 years. lol
10 pounds per month at once seems doable and too much. Maybe because I've never stuck to anything for more than a few months at a time. Instead of backsliding like I've done so often, keeping my foot on the gas til I get to goal... It's just slightly scary that it might work this time. I've been over 200 since High School. There aren't enough emoticons to describe the emotions racing through me right now....... Last edited by BrandNewMe2004 : 06-30-2008 at 09:26 AM. |

I feel great. I have tons of energy. I'd be tempted to say that I wouldn't change a thing if I stopped losing after today, but I wouldn't.. I'd find ways to tweak w/in LC and IF. Maybe go to KISS, or try egg creams, or a different kind of exercise, or switch to drinking all water, maybe <gasp!> drop my morning coffee.. I know I've got a lot of wiggle room right now. I'm sure I could be losing even faster if I did KISS... but I've dropped just shy of 20 pounds in a little over a month. I consider that pretty rapid. I think it's safe to leave some of those finer-tuning tweaks for when things slow down... ![]() I will be getting my journal out today and doing some writing about getting to goal. I'd like to work through the emotions now so I don't sabotage myself on the way there. |
