Am still chilling out but would love to have a visit from the Woosh fairy.
Barbara, good for you getting out there for your walk. Yep, we're all hoping for that woosh fairy to pay us a long visit.
There's a thread that I got a few laughs from describing how we can expect that elusive fairy to visit us.

I'm happy to say I lost another 2.2 lbs. this week at my meeting. I was very happy!

I have been just focusing on getting in my water, exercise and eating on plan (lower cals and lower carb) and it is working great.

I can't believe all the things I ate this past week and lost weight from it. I love eating lower carb/higher protein because it really keeps me satisfied and really helps with cravings.

Barb - thanks for asking ! My meeting went well and I really am enjoying my combination of WW core plan & Zone. It seems like my body really likes 4-6 small lower carb meals a day. I stay satisfied and full and don't want more when I'm done. Carbs, as you know cause horrible cravings and you just keep wanting more and more.

Rachel - That was a beautiful dream you had! Congratulations on getting the financing completed! That's so nice that you'll be able to get new carpet, new furniture and paint, when you're done it will be like a brand new home! How nice!

Sazzie - thanks for info on chopper. I'll have to check it out next time I go to Walgreens or Target. I would love a fast, easy way of chopping, lol!

Melissa - good for you for swimming all those hours! That's a great way of thinking, that this is now your lifestyle and not a diet. It's so much easier sticking with a lifestyle and just making little changes when needed.

Had my coffee this morning. Opened my window w/ grilled cheeseburger, polish sausage, pickles, and deviled eggs. Yummy and filling.

Today's Motivation

You've got to think about 'big things' while you're doing small things, so that all the small things go in the right direction. ~ Alvin Toffler
Do you ever think about your “big picture” goal? Are your small daily tasks helping you get there? It is important to know what you want to accomplish and to periodically check to make sure that your daily actions are helping you reach success. Goal setting is an important part of being a great leader. You must learn how to set a long-term goal and break it down into medium and short-term goals. Once you start breaking things down into manageable daily actions, your big goal becomes easier to achieve.

Hope all is well in the land of IF. Been a little crazy here today, so I haven't had time to post or do personals. Sorry about that. We leave tomorrow for a family reunion for the weekend, then DD leaves Sunday afternoon when we get back for band camp. Will be lonely around the house next week with DH working out of town and DD gone to camp. It will leave me at home by myself with just the crazy dog.

Well, I finally found the cable to the camera. Here's a pic of my beautiful family the night of DD's 8th grade graduation. Was feeling pretty good until I saw myself in this pic next to my size 3 baby girl!

Hello to all my IF buddies !

Just poppin in real quick....sure wish I had more time. But, I did get some good news today.....it looks like this project will be wrapping up by August 1st, so I am really looking forward to that date, so I will have time to do some fun things again. !

I wanted to report I am down 1 more pound according to the scales this morning.....this puts me at 131, but I am going to wait until Sunday to change my stats, just to make sure this pound stays off ! These very last few are coming off as slow as molasses ! (Southern saying !)

Rachel: Your dream sounded so wonderful.....can't wait to see what comes to fruition....

Barb: Hey there.....hope your household catastrophies are about over and you are recovering from all that stuff......when it rains, it pours, but you still seem to maintain a great attitude.....looks like you are continuing to inch your weight down also......good for you......I will meet you at the end of this road !

Missalissa: You look wonderful in your pics....hope your DH and DD are proud of you....I am sure they are VERY proud !

Well, I wish I had more time for personals, but I do have to run for now.

Take Care all and stay strong !

Hi friends!

Today I had my first "you've lost weight" compliment. Which was nice!

I have to tell you all...here's what it's been like at my job this week. (Which is part of the reason I gained those 15 pounds this winter/spring...too much partaking of party food.)

Last Friday: birthday cake
Wednesday: pizza
Thursday: birthday cake
This Friday: donuts, muffins, and bagels

The funny thing is, the more they bring it in, the easier it is for me to say no thanks. I am not even tempted to eat it.

I am having the best shake ever for dinner. I just threw it together in my food processor. It's got frozen blueberries, heavy cream, eggs (thanks for the idea, Barb!), stevia, cream cheese, Jay Robb vanilla protein powder and coconut oil. It's so yummy! I like stuff like this for "dinner" in the summertime, and since it's just me this summer, I am going to take advantage and just eat like this for now. High fat, whole foods. Can't get better than that.

Carolina, yeah, one pound from GOAL! That's AWESOME!

Missa, you *DO* look good, and your whole family is beautiful.

Barb, your mall walking outfit sounds cute. I love new workout clothes. They make me feel happier about working out!

Gracie, thank you for your words about my dream...I hadn't thought about it that way! Fascinating!

Flower, YEAH, work that scale! Congrats on your pounds down. Looks like you've hit on the right combination for you.

Melissa, your menu sounds yummy! Hope your little one starts feeling better soon.

Got to go and pick up a bit before the document processor arrives! Then I'll do my Callanetics and will report back a bit later.

Rachel

I have my lunch packed for today--cauliflower casserole (cauliflower, cheese, eggs, butter, etc., all baked) and plain full fat yogurt with blueberries. Tonight will be my grocery shopping night, I am making a list of staples!

Have a wonderful day!

CarolinaSweetie Glad to hear that your scale is down again, WTG! Thankfully you know that your project is in the final stages.

Missalissa Have a great time at the reunion & a safe trip.

Melissa Hope your DS is feeling better today.

Rachel The shake sounds yummy. You are doing great ignoring all the carbage at work. So glad that you finally got the refi docs signed & are on your way to redecorating

Tonight I'm going out for drinks & dinner with a friend. Hope to keep to some nice LC dishes.
Scale still around the same numbers but I'm hanging in there. The library had both of George Stella's books & most of the recipes are very tempting. It's nice to have many delicious recipes to choose from.

TGIF!
Went shopping last night - got some lovely LC items. I can now make salad, coleslaw, cucumber salad, and try some recipes w/ cauliflower.
Weight 308.8 this morning. Finding it so hard to remind myself that I'll be starting soon and that's probably why I'm not losing anything. It's only the last two days that I've started to experience the cold feelings. I've been peeing so much the last 2 days as well. So, something is kicking in. I had a sunburn that finally healed, so maybe that was holding me back. I've had my allergies, sunburns, colds, etc all make my blood sugars go up. My doc told me that while my insulin was elevated I wouldn't be able to lose weight.
I'm hoping that stops now. lol. I'm also going to make tuna salad, chicken salad and eat those in lettuce cups. I'm going to try to stay away from some of the saltier stuff I've been eating a lot of. In my cooking I use sea salt which doesn't bother me, but most foods don't use that, so the minerals are out of kilter.
I'm aiming for under 300 by the time AF has cleared out.. probably by the end of the month..
Barbara - have all the repairs been made? Condo back to ship-shape? Congrats on maintaining through all that. HUGS!
Congrats Rachel on signing the papers! I know how that feels.
DH just signed some papers today accepting a job offer with EA Games. Very exciting.
Have a great IF day everyone!!

Melissa The hot water heater has been replaced & I have an estimate on the replacement of the air conditioning unit. Hope they can start the work this Sunday or Monday & then I need to get the floor boards that were damaged replaced. Can't wait until everything is fixed up. Thanks for the hugs, it means a lot.

Happy Friday, all

Today am dragging a bit cause I wasn't feeling up to par yesterday, and it has dragged my mood down a bit. I abhor feeling this way, but it only lasts a bit.

Weight is the same, and still have to take my measurements....been putting it off, because I don't want any disappointments at this late stage of the game.

On a good note, I got my exercise in for the day, and I'm taking the therapist words very seriously, so it's not just for vanity sake any more......good health is primary and if I can look good on top of it all, then let her rip!!

Barbara, I wanted to wait until I exercised and showered, then will be on my way to the store then to the seamstress to pick up my clothes.

Of course, I'll post it here, but I will admit, I'm a bit unnerved....maybe that's why I haven't picked them up sooner.

Gotta get the ball rolling now! This mood is not me, and I don't like it.....so there!!

Flower and BrandNewMe WTG with the weight loss, keep up the good work.

Rachel that cauliflower casserole sounds yummy

Gracie better health is the best motivation out there. On days when I'm dragging it really helps me to step away from the scale and focus on the things I'm doing for the health of my body. Lower cholesterol, low blood pressure, prevent diabetes, etc.

Missalissa, your family is gorgeous!

As for me, I was traveling yesterday for work. Opened my window at 12 and closed it at 5. My eating was not so healthy choices, but I kept it within my window so I'm counting it as a win.

This morning I walked for 30 minutes and did weights for 30 minutes. I feel so good when I get my workout in first thing in the morning and then I don't stress about it the rest of the day. Not sure what's going on with my eating today. I have a friend that I'm meeting for lunch when she passes through town - which can be anywhere from 11-2. Supposed to go to dinner and a movie with DBF this evening. So...depending on when my friend meets me for lunch, I may end up with a 7 hour window instead of a 5 hour window. I will definitely try to get a protein shake in sometime just to make sure I'm keeping my protein intake high.

This week has been sort of a combined hit and miss for me. I've exercised 4 days out of the last five, I've stayed within in my window almost every day...but, I have not been keeping track of my calories at all. I haven't been eating low carb for the most part either. Oh well, there's always next week to get it figured out.

I have decided to keep up with my window over the weekend and give myself a definite start/end time for my daily eating. Last week I pretty well took the weekend off and it was a lot harder for me to get back into the fast-5 state of mind afterwards.

Hope everyone has a great Friday the 13th!

Who I am really keeps surprising me ~Nikki Giovanni

Have you ever taken a minute to think about how much you've grown up over the course of your life? If you haven't, take some time today and surprise yourself. Sometimes we may feel like we've made no progress in our lives, but this probably isn't true. Have you grown up from a small child who needed to be held to an adult who can stand on their own? Think about it another way. When you were small and someone asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" How did you answer? Think about what you would say if someone asked you that question today. Are you surprised? Now ask yourself, what's stopping me?

Sazzie - Sorry to hear that you're not feeling like your normal self. I think we all have those days, and are so happy when they're gone. I always feel so much better after exercising - even on days I'm a little blue. I hope your exercise cheers you up too!

Barb - That's great your library had both of his books. I have one of them and just love the recipes! It is so fun and exciting to look at and try new low carb recipes isn't it? Low carb times have certainly changed since the 90's, when it became real popular. There are SO many low carb products out there to use now and so many wonderful low carb recipes to use to make great substitutes for well loved high carb foods, isn't there? I've been having a lot of fun cooking these past few weeks!

Rachel - Your shake did sound real yummy! I make those egg cream/protein shakes quite often and just love them! I use frozen strawberries in mine and it comes out like a strawberry shake, which you would swear is made from ice cream - but it isn't, lol. I've made those shakes for a dessert or meal replacement and it's just great. One friday night I had made some low carb pizza and a strawberry shake and had that. It was so good and so fun - I couldn't believe I was eating pizza and having a "milkshake" and staying on plan at the same time!

that's great news that your paperwork is all finished. I know you are so very happy! Have fun grocery shopping tonight. I'm one of the crazy ones, but I do look forward & enjoy grocery shopping. Especially doing a lower carb lifestyle. It's just so fun to stock up on wonderful foods and new ingredients to experiment with new recipes.

Melissa - That's good that you stocked up on LC goodies. It's great to have all that wondeful food to stay on plan with and to try out new recipes.

Missalissa - You have a great lookin family and I bet you and your dh are so proud of your wonderful daughter!

I meant to mention that I've been living on meat and cheese this week. I need these veggies. lol.
I've been so busy this morning that it's now nearly 1pm and I'm still not done w/ my coffee! I got tired of reheating it, so I just put it over ice! lol. Better in this heat anyway.. I can't add cream when the coffee is cold, but it will 'blend' and stay that way if it's hot first... I love iced coffee....
