Tink, I was low carbing before I started this. TOM should be here next week, so I'm wondering if me PMSing could be an issue. hmmm

Welcome to all the newbies.

Just stopping by to congratulate all the loosers.

I'm still on the fruit diet and I will probably move on to a LC plan on Monday.

I didn't have much of a loss on the fruit flush because I'm very close to goal. I believe I lost a pound and that was it. I was sort of discouraged, but was a good flush to the body.

Good luck to everyone on it, I'm sure lots of you will see great results from it.

Nisha - in his ebook, Jay Robb says not to stay on the flush for more than 3 days - but instead if you wish, to repeat it once a week for 12 weeks for continued benefits and weight loss.

It seems the main difference with the Fruit Diet (14 day) is that you can eat as much fruit as you'd like every 2-3 hours and then a similar salad meal for dinner with lean protein. I haven't read that e-book however - just gathered that info from folks here. So to me it's pretty much the same (minus the shake day of course). I've already had a bunch of watermelon early this morning and on track to have some more fruit soon - feeling fine - although I'm wondering if the fruit is messing with my blood sugars as I am a bit spacier and not as energetic. We'll see how the day goes!

Just wanted to say congrats and ask what you all were doing prior. Denise - would you let me know how the next few days to a week play out for you and whether it all stays off?

Have a great day all -
Tink
I will....are you going to go right into the 14 day fruit diet? I'm sort of eating South Beach today but wonder if I should try that?

Denise -
Yes I'm going into the Fruit diet but definitely not for 14 days as I know I'll eat other things on the 4th - but not sure I'm completely committed yet - I'm on my 3rd "fruit meal" of the day so far and I'm just sort of done with it. The fruit is yummy but I'm craving some chewable protein - maybe a good salad with real dressing and chicken I have waiting for dinner will take care of that tonight. Otherwise I may wind up freezing some of this fruit so not to waste it and might head back to my CAD plan or considering the other Jay Robb Fat Burning diet.

I've been sitting in the 150's for far too long (154 today) - working on shaking it down to the 140's to give me a little extra motivation - but I do love CAD (Carbohydrate Addicts Diet) so will always go back home there and feel thankful to be able to say that I have a satisfying way of eating that I know I can sustain that keeps me maintained and /or losing slowly.

Actually Hoops, I think it worked great. I've got perspective back and am back in the right frame of mind for successful dieting. It was the mental jump start I needed.

I'm with you Tink. Maybe I can do a 1 day fruit flush every week for 12 weeks but I really don't think I can do another 3 day flush.

Tiff~ It may be only 3 days, but I love creamy dressings and definitely need an alternative in place!

Sluggish feeling and hunger.... I have no advice on either. When I did the flush, I felt so full that I couldn't eat all the fruit on the plan. Servings seemed so large. I think it has to do with the high water content in the fruit filling me up so quickly. I felt like I was constantly eating all day long!

Wishing you all success... I can't read everyone's posts today. I am super busy and heading to a concert tonight with my sis. Have a wonderful day.

Hi, I may have missed the name of the plan, but I want to give this a try. After day 3, what do you do next?
Thanks.

Oh my goodness, this HAS been rough! lol I love fruit and I don't have a problem eating it, but I miss my meat. I'll be glad for tomorrow to be here and I can have real food again. Steak and eggs for breakfast, yummmm Low Carbing never looked so good! lol I just finished my last fruit serving for the day and I'm looking forward to my salad, I'm SO hungry!! I almost caved today and got a grilled chicken sandwich from Burger King, but I didn't. WHEW It was hard! lol I was down 1.1lbs this morning, so I'm down a total of 2.6lbs. I'll be sure t update tomorrow morning!

Tink, the Fat Burning Plan Made Easy is fun and easier to do. Maybe too easy! I have to get focused, dang it!

Okay, so on the 2nd and 3rd days, the salad, what's the difference in having meat with the salad and the protein shake? Anyone know?? I'm dying to add some chicken to my salad tonight, I just don't understand the big difference.

Hi,
I'm thinking about trying the repetition diet. I need something very structured and this diet doesn't give you many choices for the day and I like that. How long is it safe to do this diet? Any idea?? thanks in advance for any help you might provide. I can't seem to find much about it online.

Hi JoyBoy -
Jay Rob says not to do the Fruit Flush for more than 3 days - but he does have a 14 Day Fruit Diet that is almost identical and fairly repetitive as far as fruit & salad every day -although you can choose what fruit & type of salad veg. You can find his ebooks at jayrobb.com for $5 each - but to be honest, if you read this entire thread, almost all of the diet rules are here - the rest of the book is info about fruit and your health.

If you're looking for Stillman's repetition diets check out this thread that Hoops typed out on this forum awhile back Dr. Stillman's Repetition Diets

Hope that helps -

Tiff -
I checked the book and he doesn't say anything about why a shake and not lean protein - I'm assuming from past reading that it has to do with digestion, but can't say that for sure.

Hope you made it through the rest of today just fine and that you'll be happy with your results tomorrow. What are you going to move into? I did a Fruit Diet Day yesterday but was wanting something a bit more than fruit today so I went back to my main plan of CAD and had my main meal at lunch time like I usually do - I had a one-minute muffin, a protein shake with some strawberries blended in, a salad with chicken and blue cheese dressing, pineapple & rasperries. I'll have some protein and veg soon and we'll see how it feels tomorrow - I'm not sure that I can do the Fruit Diet everyday! But I may do the Fruit Flush again in a week or so or after the 4th.- We'll see how the scale is doing.

Of course! It's great to see you here. I'm on my last day, just finished my salad, and sadly, I added just a FEW pieces of chicken to it! Hopefully that won't be too big of a deal come tomorrow when time to step on the scale! Good luck!

Cool, thanks for checking. So maybe the extra chicken won't be a big deal afterwards. Before doing the fruit flush, I was doing low carb. I started with induction on June 5, and I continued on it up until I started the fruit flush. I'll be going back to it starting tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to it too. Before the flush I was having mad cravings for carbs, but now that the flush is over, I'm just ready to get back to induction, all I can think about is steak, chicken, and eggs!!

Thanks so much for finding that!! I knew I typed it all up a while back, but I didn't know where it was. Someone was just asking about it in the Stillman's thread!

JoyBoy~ If you decide on Stillman's, we have a super friendly group if you want to hang out with us. You can safely follow his RD's for 2 weeks, I believe. His book doesn't give a time limit, but he does talk about some people doing them for 1 week and having such success that they do it another week.

Good luck, Handbells! So I lost a total of 3.5lbs with the flush. I went directly back to my low carbing this morning, so I guess we'll see what happens. Thanks for this thread, I feel all refreshed and ready to go back on track!

I have a quick question...

This is day one. So far I'm doing well with my shakes although I'm looking forward to dinner when I can chew something!

My question is this: if I get hungry sometime after dinner is it okay to have a shake?

TIA!

Jenn~ No shake after dinner. He also said not to change the order in which we eat the food. So, stick with the shakes all day, and then have the huge salad for dinner.

Jenn, I was afraid I would have the same problem, but surprisingly, the salad filled me up and I was full until bedtime.
