Moretta~ One week. I did 3 days of the Repetition Diets and 4 days of QWL w/o cottage cheese.
The Repetition Diets I chose were... fish/tomato, chicken/veggie, and egg. |

Hi Ladies -
I've been hanging out lurking for a week or two - thinking about the fruit flush - needing something to give me a little boost - as you'll see from my signature below, I don't have much net loss to show for several months - and just need a little push to keep up the motivation and make some more progress. I've learned to accept it may be slow, but this is getting a bit discouraging. I know some of it is due to lots of travels recently and going off plan too. I did buy the fruit flush book last week - think I will be starting in the next day or two. Think I will also be checking out the others you have mentioned as well. I know nothing of Stillmans but Hoops you seem to be doing so well! I love CAD and I think it may be my permanent home for maintenance and steady loss - but also open to some things to have some spurts of loss ![]() - Tink

Thanks to you both! I was thinking of jumping in tomorrow but wanted to check in with you whether you recommend that I get myself a bit "cleaner" first as I've been having coffee the past several days (usually don't drink it) and due to being away in Reno, also have been eating anything and everything. Funny thing is, I dropped 2 pounds! Do you think I'm asking for too much of a "detox" effect jumping in? I'd rather not suffer unnecessarily with nasty headache and flu like symptoms that sometimes happen with these sorts of fasts or induction. Let me know what you think...
Looking forward to it! -Tink |

Laura -
I'm also interested in learning about Stillmans - went and read those boards a bit today as well. I didn't find any reference to the Repetition Diets you mention. Can you point me somewhere to read or explain them? I found the QWL explanation. Moretta - How are you liking the 14 day fruit plan? Can't remember now if I found the details on how that works - but I'll poke around. Have a good evening ! |

Tink~ I typed them all up a while back, but I am not sure where they ended up. They are very restrictive in calories and variety. But, they are great for a stall, to jump start a weight loss, or for those who lose very slowly. Dr. Stillman doesn't say how long one can stay on them, but the impression from the book is 14 days. I lasted only 3 days!!!
Anyhow, they only offer one or two foods a day with 410 calories or less eaten per day. You can do a different repetition each day. For an example...Day 1- banana eaten 3 times Day 2- hamburger w/ 1/2 cup lettuce eaten 2 times Day 3- hard-boiled egg eaten 3 times Day 4- fish and tomato eaten 2 times There are lots of combinations and all quantities are limited.

his e-book says 8 ounces, I see here that everyone is doing 6, he says to put 40 ounces of water and 5 scoops of protein powder in a blender and each serving is 8 ounces...

Thanks for both of your messages - I think I'm going to kick it off today - if I have problems with headache due to suddenly no caffeine - I'll make whatever adjustments I need to get through it (I get migraines so try to avoid kicking one off) and then will start fresh again. But hopefully, it won't be an issue. I'll report back! Thanks Moretta for your PM. I LOVE fruit and have great fruit stands out here in wine country! I'll have to make a stop to stock up on the way home today.

I think the confusion is that the version of the ebook that is currently up (the one I just bought last week) uses 8oz of protein drink. The instructions are to mix 40oz of pure water with 5 scoops of protein powder for 5 drinks - protein powder to provide 25 grams of protein - which I'm sure is really the key. For example the protein powder I used this morning not JayRobb - was 25 grams but needed 10ounces of water - I doubt that will be a deal breaker - but if my results aren't great, then I'll try his next time.
The version I have also says we can use 1/2 lemon or lime with the flax or olive oil as dressing. So far so good today! |

The current book also says: 5 drinks 2 hours apart then dinner is 3-6 cups raw vegetable salad and 3-6 ounces of lean chicken, fish, turkey, or beef or scramble 4-8 egg whites in 1 teaspoon olive oil. Top salad with 1-2 tablespoons olive or flax seed oil (or 1/2 avocado) adn the juice of 1/2 lemon or lime. So I guess there is a difference again in that the dinner is not with a shake.

Well, I got through day one. I must say today is going so much better. Yesterday was awful. I had to make a few tweaks to stick it out. There were several times when I wanted to give up. I find protein powder mixed with water makes me
so I used a mix of half milk and half water. I also split my salad up and had some for lunch and the rest for dinner. I think I ate too much meat with dinner but I was hungry so I really didn't care![]() . I also drank about 3 cups of tea. That's not allowed either but it kept me out of the fridge and away from the snack machine. I am actually surprised that the fruit is doing a fairly good job of keeping me satisfied today. This morning, I put on the skirt that I had on yesterday to see if it felt different. No real difference so if I lost anything it probably wasn't more than a pound or two.

Denise~
So, you mixed 40 oz, but now have more than 40 due to the powder. You need to divide it into 5 servings. I would just divide the total oz of drink you mixed by 5 servings. I doubt it will make a difference if you drink 10 oz and then 7 oz. I know you're wanting to do it from the book, but even if each serving is slightly off from the next, your total with be exactly what was outlined for the day. How are you doing? |

Ugh - I'm due for another shake - #3- can't believe it's time already - it feels like way too much - I suppose since I've come from CAD which is 2 smaller meals of protein/veg and then 1 balanced meal that allows carbs - this feels like a lot. I'm also a little headachey now - so drinking lots of water.

Laura -
Been reading some of your older posts (& I did find the repetition diets thanks!) and you've got me curious about Stillman different plans now. Can I ask if you experience rapid gain when you go off of it for whatever reason? -Tink |

Tink~ I also found the first day of the fruit flush to be quite a lot! It seemed like every time I looked at the clock it was time for another water or another protein shake. Yes, there is a gain after following Stillman's QWL or Stillman's Repetitions if one doesn't slowly add back veggies and watches caloric intake.

Hey! I was thinking of doing this, but I'm currently doing low carb. Did anyone go straight off low carb to the fruit flush?? If so, how did it work for them? Before and after the flush??? Thanks!!

I did! I have been stalled for almost 1 year. I did the Fruit Flush and lost 5 pounds. I did have a headache the first day. I went back to low carb for a couple of days and gained 2 pounds back. I'm now trying Jay Robb's Fat Burning Made Easy. There's another thread for it. I just finished day 2.

Okay - Day 1 is done... with some minor adjusting - I could not get the 5th shake down - I was so bloated! I got home and made my salad and chicken and actually couldn't eat all of that either. And then I discovered that TOM has made an early appearance - so perhaps that's why I was so bloaty all day. We'll see if this alters my results one way or the other.
I stocked up - actually went WAY overboard on fruit at Costco tonight so I think I will be going right into the 14 Day Fruit Diet - although I'm pretty sure I'll only be doing a week of it since on the 4th I'll be having a big picnic day. But I have a LOT of fruit to eat so that will be a good way to do it ![]() More tomorrow - thanks for all of the support today! - Tink |

This is day 3 for me and I am really struggling to get this fruit down. I never thought I would say this but I honestly don't think I can eat another bite of fruit and I'm only on the first meal for the day. I'm sick of fruit and I
fruit! Hopefully, I can make it through the day .Tinker, that's one of the reasons why I decided to try the Fruit Flush. I had so much fruit in house! ![]() Last edited by aunatural : 06-25-2008 at 06:54 AM. |

Happy Hump Day everyone!
aunatural Hang in there. It does get better. Try to mix up your variety of fruits every 2 hours. I have been doing the 14 day fruit diet for 7 days now, and I think I'm ready to move on Jay Robb's fat burning diet. I'm missing my meats and fats. Before I was missing my fruits on the low carb. I guess we can't win. This to shall pass. Tinkerloo You will enjoy the fruit diet. Its so easy and the fruit is so delish. Quote:

Moretta - At least on the Fat Burning Diet you can have meats, fats, carbs and fruit. I am looking forward to starting it after my psmf on July 7th. I think that it will be easy to stick with, and the ladies on the FBDME Thread are losing like crazy!
