Protein drink
whey protein
23 to 25 grams of protein per 6 oz serving (30 gram serving)
should NOT be sweetened with added carbohydrate
should NOT contain artificial sweeteners (aspartame, fructose, sucrose, evaporated can juice, sucralose, maltodextrin, sugar, corn syrup, corn sweeteners, barley malt, molasses, agave, or brown sugar)

I need to go purchase my protein drink. I wish they sold Jay Robb at the health food store. It is too late to order it online for this time. What brand did you all purchase?

Wow! Thanks so much for the info Hoops! I actually have some Jay Robb pina colada whey protein that I bought a couple months ago, but I never really got around to using it. Do you have a vitamin shoppe near you? That's where I found mine.

When it says 23 to 25 grams of protein per 6 oz serving, does that mean that we just mix the whey protein with 6 oz of water to make the protein shake?

Treasured~ Yes. Mix it with 6 oz of water. He says in the plan that we are to drink an 8 to 12 oz glass of water an hour after each protein drink and meal, so at 9AM, 11AM, 1PM, 3PM, 5PM, and 7PM. I am going to call around to stores to see if they carry Jay Robbs' protein mix. Thanks! How is the pina colada?

So, when is everyone starting? Saturday or Sunday? I am excited about getting going, so I may start on Saturday instead, too. It will be Saturday or Sunday though for sure.

The pina colada is ok. I've used it in yogurt a few times, but never tried it as a shake. I prefer the tropical dreamsicle (tastes kinda like an orange creamsicle), but vitmain shoppe didn't have that one in the large size that I wanted. They will special order the Jay Robb protein powder for you as well, as long as it's in stock at their warehouse. I know it's too late for you to order for this time, but just thought I'd let you know for future reference in case they don't have the one you want in the store. They also carry the individual packets(that's how I tried the dreamsicle), but it seems like which flavors and sizes they have available varies by store/location.

I got my protein powder! I bought Isopure instead at the GNC store. I bought a 3 pound container for $68.99 that contains 42 servings. I got a 20% discount, because card holders received 20% off all purchases the first week of every month and 15% the rest of the month. I looked online, and there are even better deals on the Isopure, but I am not going to wait to start the 3 day fruit flush to save a couple bucks!

You all ready to start? Anyone else want to do it with us????

That sounds like a good deal! I paid $30 for a 24 oz container of the Jay Robb. It's much cheaper at vitamin shoppe than on his site. Does yours have a flavor? I think I'm going to start Sunday. But I may wake up in the morning and decide to start tomorrow, just depends on my mood. I don't use a scale, so I won't be weighing myself. I'm just going to see if I feel better at the end of the 3 days. I have a lot of weight to lose, so I'm hoping this will be a good start for me.

Day 1
Alright, I weighed and measured, and those numbers are disgusting and will surely keep me on track for the 3 day fruit flush.

My 8AM drink was about a 7 on a scale of 10. I may throw a little crushed ice in there for the next one.

I don't have any chicken breasts or tenderloins in the freezer like I thought I did, so I may end up eating fish instead. I would prefer the chicken on my salad but at this point I don't plan on a grocery trip for only that.

Not sure if the girls are still going dancing tonight or not. If so, I am sticking to plan. I can be designated driver if anyone wants to drink.

Treasured~ So, did you feel like starting today? If you don't weigh, perhaps you'd rather measure? I find the losses on the scale or tape measure encouraging, but the initial measurements can be quite discouraging.

Kingston~ Did you decide to also start today?

Moretta~ See you on Sunday!

How frequent can one do the Fruit Flush
I didn't read the decisively, although he does have in his book about doing the fruit flush once a week for 12 weeks. He says most people lose 3 to 9 pounds on the initial flush, and then about 2 pounds for each flush afterwards. If you like this plan, perhaps the fruit diet would work great... I outlined it a little below.

Exercise during the Fruit Flush
He says it is best not to do much exercise during this detox. If you choose to exercise, walking is the best choice or something else that is low impact and low intensity.

Fruit Diet- All-You-Can-Eat
Jay Robb states that this other diet of his can be followed by anyone age 1 to 101 for a lifetime. You can train as hard as you want...the more fruit, the more exercise you can engage in. This is the ideal plan for body builders. Muscle recovery time is much shorter on this plan. You may see increases of 20 to 30% in lifting due to the abundance of energy. You should notice you breathe easier due to the lymph system working less, and your breath should be sweet due to all the fruit. Weight loss is up to 14 pounds or more in the first two weeks and then about 2 pounds per week thereafter. It is basically an all-you-can-eat fruit diet all day, except dinner. For dinner, one eats a large RAW vegetable salad with nuts, full fat dressing, and either lean protein and/or a protein drink. Once a week is the free meal in which anything may be eating during the span of 1 hour on Saturday evening.

So, what do you all think about this Fruit Diet I outlined above? It seems so similar to the Fruit Flush, except the nuts, dressing, even more fruit, and ability to exercise with intensity and frequency. Perhaps I will switch over to this after I do this 3-day fruit flush. I like the idea of a 1-hour free meal in case I have a party or plans with a friend.

Looks like it is just me today, or maybe one of you started but haven't had a chance to post yet.

I can't believe how fast every hour is going by, since we drink every hour on Day 1. I've been taking a bottle of Dasani and pouring 6 ounces for my protein drink, and then an hour later drinking the remaining 10.9 ounces. It works well. I am not hungry in the least.

I am heading out either dancing or to the movies with some girl friends later tonight. I already told one of them no drinks out dancing or no popcorn at the movies for me.

Time for another drink................

Day 1- done
I followed the plan drinking the protein drink and water every other hour. I had a huge vegetable salad at 6PM with shrimp. I was so tempted to eat a handful of pretzels or pop a 100 calorie bag of popcorn, but I resisted both. A combination of water retention and everything I cnsumed yesterday had me at the bathroom urinating all day!

Day 2 -5.4 pounds
Yes, I really lost that much weight and feel sensational! I need to head off and have my first serving of fruit. It looks like a fruity day and another large salad for dinner.

Anyone else starting? I am looking forward to read about your results and how you feel.

Luvs~ This is the perfect time of year to switch over to eating more vegetables and especially fruit with so many yummy fruits in season! You could always follow your own version of The Fruit Diet, which is fruit all day long along with a vegetable/fruit salad and protein choice for dinner. I will be following that plan following this 3-day flush. It also allows one free meal each week! Also, most restaurants offer fruit choices if you go out with friends or vacation.

Short of a fast (water only), fruit is your next best choice. It is so easily digested by the body. I hope you feel better soon! Avoid any dairy and the hard to digest animal protein. It will zap the energy your body needs to get rid of whatever is upsetting it.

Okay, I didn't eat all my fruit today. It was SO much! I read in his fruit diet that people get use to eating that much fruit in time. So, I didn't follow today's plan as closely, because I simply was too full on the fruit. I will see if I can eat more tomorrow.

Treasured~ I have felt so full both days. If you finish today, at least start it tomorrow and you may also find the fruit is so much food! And, if it doesn't suit you, then it doesn't. Just the amount of weight loss may inspire you to continue! By the way, I wasn't excited about those protein drinks either.

Interesting plan-I saw an article on this just today when I was checking out at the grocery store. I will read more on it and than see if it could possibly be something which would be good for me to do. Thanks for all the information Hoops and congrats on how wonderfully you are doing and feeling!!!

Hoops how are you feeling? how is your losses?
Are you drinking water? I read if you eat alot of fruit you don't even need to drink water cause of all the fruit juice..
how are your emotions? do you feel better on the fast? are you having regular bowl movements?
do you think doing the fast with maybe enemas would be good? just to flush everything out of ya? i know tmi lol

I don't mind the questions.

I am feeling fantastic! Of course my son baking cookies, cheese sticks, and the like is a little tempting, but I am at break point and so ready to lose the weight so it is easier fighting off the temptations.

I am drinking water because the plan says 8 to 12 ounces every other hour. I, ummm, peed like a racehorse! Sorry, maybe bad expression. That is probably why I feel so full, because of the water AND the high water content foods.

Bowel movements seem more frequent actually, although I didn't think about it until you asked. Personally, I stay away from enemas. If you want to do one, then go for it. I prefer the body to do its thing naturally, although a lot of people feel otherwise. If you do one, let me know how it goes for you.

In regard to emotions... well, I've done many short and long fasts (water only), so this seems like a pigout! I think he calls this a fast, because all that fiber in the fruit and vegetables (not to mention nutrition) really works. Also, not consuming all that salt and processed foods helps tons.

Lynn~ Any info you need, just ask. One of us will have the information for you. The hardest thing for me was finding the protein drink, but I ended up buying Isopure. I think this is a great jump start, although he says it can be followed once each week, so I may shoot for that or follow his fruit diet. If you decide to do it, please post on here. I would love to read how you're feeling, the weight loss you exerience, and whatever else.

Congrats. Hoops on the 5.4 loss, thats just awesome.

I have not started yet. I will do the 3 day fruit flush and then go on the 14 day fruit diet.

I did the flush for 2 days about 3 weeks ago and didn't see much of a loss, so I gave up, which was the wrong avenue to go. I was scared that the fruit was going to make me gain or something, so when on the 2nd day I ddin't see much of a loss I caved in and went back to my low carbing WOE.

I loved it though. The drinks plus the fruit was so delish. I felt in paradise for the 2 days, but was so unsure about it, so I stopped.

What kinds of fruits are you eating? I stuck to the ones that Jay Robb lists in his book alot of berries and a few apples. I did not eat any melons, peaches, mangos, etc.

The salads I ate 6 cups of eat with 1/2 an avocado. I did salad greens, like spinach, tomatoes cucumbers. How about you?

I'm leaving on July 8 to Punta Cana so I will probably start at the end of this week. I have some whipping cream and some low carb meals that I would love to finish off before I go away.

Keep up the good work Hoops, you are such an inspiration to us here.
