But I am cutting back on my carbs in RM, because I am lacking energy/enthusiasm. This is definitely each individuals journey......wouldn't it be nice if everyone could find that easy answer right off?????

Hi girls!!

Karen, yes it would be nice, it took me a year before I found the right mix for me. Ya gotta just try things and see what works!

Oraki....yea!!! Good for you!! I know you'll do just fine today, have fun at the movies!

Phylissa, I'm not sure , but I think so. I'll let the other girls tell you. I don't do cm's, so I'm not a good one to ask.

Judy...I didn't know you was 68?! That was funny though.... Getting preggers!!

O.k., today is grilled cheese/tomato sandwich, baked potato soup(), sheet cake, drink/braggs.

I may try what the currant rage is....dunking your grilled cheese into chocolate pudding....sounds yuky to me, but they all do it and swear by it, so I may try that today...

I have one more day left....oh, I need a day off bad!! Can't wait.

Thats it....I'm still feeling crappy, but it's not too bad.

Have a good day girls!!

I don't know, if this Atkins thing is going to work. I am feeling very deprived today... Maybe that is a sign that I am burning FAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I sure hope so. Have a great day...

So should I be eating to 2 salads ( 4 cups of salad) before my reward meal. Can someone please clarify? Thanks. Have a good weekend if I don't get back before then.
Phylissa
I read through several chapters to try to find where it says "every RM should have a salad before it." I cannot find that. Of course I have a 1993 copy of the book and it may have been changed. The closest I can find is on page 121 of my book, under the heading The Reward Meal in the The Diet chapter... it says select foods from each of the 4 basic groups,
include...dairy ..., meat..., fruits, vegetables (as well as a salad) and breads...

I thought what was meant was an option of either vegetables or salad or both. And, I interpret Plan C to be more about the "when". Eat 2 cups salad before you eat anything else.

Someone with more experience probably should be answering this, but this is my 2 cents worth anyhow.

I tried the cream cheese pancakes for breakfast, made half a recipe since I was going biking and didn't want too much in the tummy. Delicious!!! I spread them with a dab of sf jam and rolled them and topped with sour cream. I'll definitely be making these again!

On my way downstairs to get my workout now....

Patty - please forgive my ignorance, but I am clueless to the hurricane season. Is it like this every year? Are they always as bad or as potentially scary as they have been this year? If so, how do you deal with it each year until November? I am a wreck in a thunderstorm, I can't imagine what you are going through! Be safe!

Hi Ladies,
Went to Remlinger Farms today and had fun even though I'm still sick as a dog
My head hurts so bad and my sinus on the left side that I want to cry
We went on the Steam train 5 times! Hubby couldn't get enough of it!

So, speaking of DOG - Not sure if this dog is going to work out or not
Our Boy Pom Rosco DOES NOT think this dog belongs here! He is very hyper and the other dog didn't know how to respond to it so he was nipping and doing that scary deep growling - I actually came running into the house and let hubby handle it because I didn't want the stress because I'm so sick.
I told my husband HE needs to be the one to do this because I can't being sick trying to do this. We are going to take them to a neutral place tomorrow (probably park) and have both on leashes and no off leash until we feel safer about it.
It's a cute dog and very sweet AWAY from other animals so far.
He's half dachshund. I'll take a picture of him tomorrow probably.
His name is Pepper and they always called him Pepe (pronounced Pep-pay) not PEE PEE He was SERIOUSLY abused in his previous home. It's so sad that he was going to be put to sleep. If it doesn't work out he will go back to hubby's brother.
The OTHER issue is he does the DEEP scary growl towards Lola our kitty. She was a hissing monster and he was a growling machine. We kept Pepper on his leash during the meeting because I was so scared Lola would be missing her head otherwise. He was wagging his tail so not sure if that means "Hi, I don't know what a cat is and your INTERESTING" or "Hi, your a cat and I want to eat you for dinner!"
Our kids LOVE this dog already and our 3 1/2 year old has spent TONS of time today playing with him. Not sure how this is going to turn out.

Glad you guys liked the pancakes!
Patty be safe!

I'm going to go and let my head explode now

Took one picture of Pepper in his crate for bedtime.
I will take more when he comes out tomorrow for potty and play.
I do hope he works out! I'm trying not to get attached just in case he doesn't.

With less than 2 weeks left on my maternity leave I realized that I won't be able to fit any of my clothes. So even though I need to do something more extreme I am nursing and need to keep that in mind. PLus I did lose weight on this way of life. Back! I remember you from my older CAD days. I'm back to the program too combining it with WW and I'm loving it!! Congrats on your bundle of joy. You're off to a great start!! I don't have to wish you good luck...you've done it once so you'll do it again! Now don't go getting hot and sexy and end up pregnant again!! Just joking.

Dunking your grilled cheese in chocolate pudding??? I don't know about that one Cindy. Did you try it?? How did it taste? I don't think I could try that. I like grilled cheese and I like chocolate pudding but I don't know if I would like them together.

I hope you feel better soon and enjoy your day off once it gets here. I hope today goes by super fast for you.

Oh I hope you feel better soon. I sure hope the dog works out for you because he's a cutie. Your other dogs are cuties too!! That's so funny you gave them a birthday party! Maybe if he's growling but wagging his tail he's just wanting to play? I know Shaq does that sometimes when he wants to play. If Shaq is truly growling (like when someone knocks on the door) his tail isn't wagging. His tail is normally upright and he's what me and my DH calls "alert mode". It may take a little time to get everyone adjusted to each other. I sure hope it works out. The local SPCA here rescued over 100 dogs from a bad situation and it included dachshunds. Me and DH has discussed adopting one but I really don't know how Shaq would react to another dog. He may love it....but then he may hate it. If he's been abused that could have something to do with the way he acts too. I sure hope it works out...he deserves to have a happy home.

I don't think I've posted a pic of Shaq so here he is!!

The last one if from when he was a puppy.

Have a great day everyone!! I'm proud to report I only had 1 rm yesterday!!! I had my rm at my nephew's party and the cake and ice cream wasn't served until after the movie was over so it was way after my rm. I decided to skip the ice cream and I wrapped my cake up to eat today. Once I got home I was pretty tired so I fell asleep until almost midnight! I guess I was pooped. By the time I woke up I was HUNGRY!! Of course my husband reminded me that I had cake that I could eat but I said no I'm not going to eat that and I had some shrimp instead. I'm so proud of myself! I remember previous attempts with CAD and I had this situation I would have just eaten 2 rms but now it's not that big of a deal. The same food will be there the next day during the next rm...unless my husband eats the cake but I told him not to touch my cake!!! He ate his and he knew there would be some ISSUES if he ate my cake! More and more that I follow this program the easier it's getting for me. Even the diet soda thing doesn't bother me as much...well sometimes but hey we all have our days!

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend and have a great CAD/CALP day!!!!

Best laid plans can be waylaid by loved ones. We were going to an auction last evening, so daughter and I ate about 4:00. DH came home, and I suggested he eat too. But instead he took a 20 minute nap. So I ate my RM at 4.
Had lettuce and chicken ready for after auction, usually 10:00 or so........
So husband decides to invite a friend to visit and eat at Burger King last night. Grrrrrrrrr

I hadn't eaten enough to carry me clear over until morning, so I had a burger and water.
The scale didn't go up this morning, but I had it all planned out............oh, well.

This morning I took one of those pancakes, filled it with ground beef, topped it with a little SF syrup, and it was terrific!!!!! Hopefully those salads will work into today.

I thought when we moved from Baton Rouge to here that we wouldn't have to worry about hurricanes anymore. Boy did I get fooled. We have been through two hurricanes, and yes they are very scary... We had a tornado with Rita and it ripped two big trees right out of the ground. We have to live with the treat of hurricanes every year...

Girls, I was so bad last night. I ate everything I could get my hands on. I was just too stressed with everything that is going on right now, and frankly I didn't care, what I ate, but today I am getting back to eating right and we are having a steak dinner at our neighbor's tonight, so that will be fun and a change for us, and maybe I can get my act together...

Hello everyone,

DH and I put off Bowflex until today so yesterday was my day off of exercise.

My menu for yesterday included:

CM: 2 cups of coffee

CM: Pork chop and green beans w/vinaigrette

RM: Salad w/ranch, homemade pizza w/pepperoni & canadian bacon, and cucumber slices

I took my chromium and drank plenty of water.
