Happyone81Congrats on your new little bundle of joy! Good for you on the weight loss so far! Sorry your maternity leave is coming to an end. I know I was bummed out when my maternity leave ended with son #1. I was on it for 3 months and had to go back and then lasted 3 months BACK at work and quit. I missed my little one too much!![]() Now I have #2 (he's already one) and currently a SAHM. No more babies for me. All done! Now it's time for me to become a yummy mummy by getting this weight off! ![]() |

Hello everyone,
Welcome back HappyOne and congratulations on your precious little one! Everything is going smoothly with the roof and it looks like they will be done today. I got up early enough to get WATP done before they came, so now it doesn't have to be done again until Monday. Food is still delicious and the feeling of complete control remains. I am so fortunate that I began drinking water as my beverage of choice several years ago since I know how hard it is to get off of something else. I have not been able to drink anything sweet and I am sure that is helping me with my plan. I can't believe how good I feel even though I still have a long way to go before I reach my goal. I am in my "happy place" and feel so content with the foods I eat since I have finally found my way. The last time I tried CALP I was working it as a diet instead of the way I needed to eat to control my insulin levels. The realization of not being able to control myself when eating like others has been a huge help to my way of thinking as well as my WOE. I can't imagine going hungry ever again since know I can always eat a CM. I am happy that a CM satisfies me for several hours until I need to eat again. I have no doubt that I am a carbohydrate addict and eating this way is the only way I can control myself! My menu for yesterday included: CM: 2 cups of black coffee CM: 2 pork chops and green beans w/vinaigrette RM: Salad w/ranch, salmon, asparagus w/mayo, and a Haagen Dazs chocolate ice cream bar I took my chromium and drank plenty of water. |

Good morning! Still sick
![]() I had a fever last night and could not fall asleep until after 1 am because of feeling so crappy. I didn't eat much yesterday. Dinner RM was really boring but good. I took one pita pocket and put cheese on it and broiled it. When done I topped it with two pieces of turkey bacon crumbled and tomato slices and onion slices. So, we MAY be adding to our fur family! ![]() My husband's brother rescued a dog from the humane society that was going to be put to sleep. Such a good dog and he just couldn't handle it being put down. Hubby met it last weekend and played ball with it for quite a long time. It's a boy - don't know what breed it is because hubby couldn't remember he just said he's long like a dachshund and bigger like a basset hound THAT could be ANY number of dogs Medium sized dog. So, hubby had said how much he liked the dog and his brother said he would talk to his wife about letting us adopt him. Today the answer came back that even though his wife was crying about it (she gets very attached to animals like I do) they are going to let him have a trial run at our place this weekend. They have 11 other dogs - all rescues and they live on lots of land and away from the city limit so they can do it! So, LOTS of fun stuff going on this weekend. We are going to pick him up after our family fun day at the farm! This farm is so awesome - it has an amusement park for kids. ![]() Just wish I was over this cold! ![]() |

Lara - Glad you liked the tuna patties! Nice that miss kitty got some tuna too! I am sure she was a happy little camper! Sorry your head hurts again. I vote that you leave work early too!
Hoppinn- Great news that the roof should be done today! Glad you are enjoying your "Happy Place." Cutting carbohydrates sure is the only way to keep that insulin in check. So, this morning I made cream cheese pancakes! SOOOOOOO delicious! I was thinking who needs IHOP when you can have this! I rolled up two with sour cream/Splenda mixed and two with ham and cheddar. So delicious! Needed a change from turkey bacon and eggs! ![]() ![]() |

Hey there girls!!
I'm better today...thanks! Mikesmom...your sick too!!? Hmm, I must have missed that post...take lots of vit.C...like 2-3 grams (2000-3000mg), I have 1000mg soft gel vit c and I take 2 in the morning and two at night when I'm sick...it helps. Say, where is this farm your going too, it sounds like fun, is it your family's or is it a public thing. Let me know, I would love to take the grandkids. We're going to the Pullyalup fair next week-end, me and all my kids. That one takes all day to see everything!! Ohh, a doggie!!! We love our 4 dogs, they are like family, you'll love him!! Good luck with the trial week-end! And let us know what you named him! Hope you feel better soon!! Happyone....your back!! And have a new little one too!! Welcome back, hun!! Your already doing good, lost 4.5 since last week!! So keep up the great work!!!I'm having lagzana, garlic bread, tortill/cheese, drink/braggs. desert of some kind. Don't know yet...maybe kettle corn. Lara, I hope you feel better soon, sounds like my kind of job...where you can go and relax at work...I can actually go lay down and fall asleep for a bit...love it!! Teri, that sure was a nice post you wrote, I'm so glad this plan is working so well for you!! Keep up the great work, your almost in "onederland"!!! Mikesmom...STOP!!!! Your making me hungry!!! Looks good!!Last night I almost had a cm, I made it and everything, but when I took a bite, I didn't like the taste of it and I wasn't really hungry, so I gave it to the dogs. It was just hamburger and eggs mixed together,...blech!! But that stupid mind thing was going on again...just a craving. After a little bit, it was gone and I went back to my "happy place"... Have a good day girls!!

Karen, I bet thats why your having trouble with hunger and cravings...it is the crystal light outside of your RM, you'll see a big difference if you keep it in the meals, try hun, I know it's hard, but it makes it sooo much easier if we can get rid of the cravings!

Cindy - Thanks for the vitamin C tip! I'll jump on that right away.
We are going to the Puyallup this coming up Monday! The farm we are going to is in Carnation (45 minutes east of Seattle) it's at Remlinger Farm. Remlinger Farm and Family Fun Park, Carnation, Washington It's going to be a blast! They have a STEAM TRAIN! Here's part of the wording from the Harvest page that you will see when you click on the link: Family Fun Park - Our traditional fall them park designed for the 12 and under kids includes our Steam Train (a Remlinger Family Fun Park exclusive) and multiple mechanical rides (Mini Roller Coaster, Model "T" Electric Cars, Flying Pumpkins, Spinning Barrels, Mini Ferris Wheel and Mini Horse Carousel). Let the little ones cruise the Mini Canoe Adventure while the bigger kids race around the track on the Pedal Go-Carts. Kids and grownups will enjoy our 4-H Petting Zoo, see and touch the traditional farm animals that we all love. If you get an opportunity to take the grandkids they will be SOOOO excited! I'll keep you guys posted on the dog I sure hope he works out. It will be interesting to see what our Pom's think about him. THAT will be the main thing and ALSO how he does with kitty.Last edited by mikeysmommy33 : 09-05-2008 at 11:50 AM. |

About how many carbs does everyone eat for their comp meal and their reward
meal? Just trying to get a sense of what would work. Thanks SMW |

The girls will be in to tell you what they do, they are so good about helping us out!! to cad hun, I know you'll just love this plan. Get the book if you can and post any questions you might have. Good luck and glad your here!!![]() Last edited by coxbowen : 09-05-2008 at 12:24 PM. |

It sounds like everyone is doing well. I really love this WOL simply because you are not hungry which is the same as Atkins but the reward meal ( which I don't crave or before I have it) makes you feel like you have room to breathe. I gave my CAD book to a friend, who now can't find it. So I am using my borders coupon to buy another one tonight. I might get one of their other books as well.
Mikeysmom: HOw do you make those pancakes? I am hoping that I will be able to deal with being back at work. I live right next door to my job so if I miss her that much I guess I can run over and see her and my hours aren't too bad 7-3 so we will see how that goes. Coxboxen: If you don't mind, why can't you do the cms? How does that work for you? are you hungry at all? Do you lose weight faster? My husband was basically doing that to lose weight for our wedding. Everyone keep up the good work!

I never stopped IF but I need to find a WOE that works in between IF, so to speak. I've read a bit about CAD and follow this thread, and you all seem so nice so I thought I'd try the CM:s and the RM. But I felt a bit queasy when just eating veggies and meat for a meal. About IF, for me that's skipping breakfast most days and doing a whole day of fasting a week (from late Saturday evening until Monday at around noon ~ 30-36 hours). Well, the fasting every Sunday is my goal anyway If you have a look at the link here to the WAP Autumn/Winter 2008 thread, in the first post I copied and pasted the main principles of WAP. I found them on the two sites that I think are the "main ones" on the web (maybe there are others). http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/ot...er-2008-a.html |

Hi Guys, way up here in canada we got wind this am from Gustof. It was a nice relief from the heat but it didnt last long. I will be so happy for fall.
How wonderful to be getting a new dog! They are such terrific friends. I have 2 that were left at the pound, Now they are my best friends. Did you say you have pomeranians also or did I misread?? My food is going well, I got fed up with fitday and am doing my count on paper , the old fashioned way. I want to lose 10 lbs. by Christmas so I can have between 1600-1800 cal a day... WOW they go fast!!!. I am trying to follow what Angela said about writing it all down first, and that is a good thing!!! Have a good sleep at work, now that is as it should be, lol!! Hope all the colds are better soon, sure can make you feel like crap, eh??

Hi all, just running through... I am back on Atkins full force today after my crew went back home... Maybe this time I can stick to it. It's just too hard eating out while we were in the hurricane and all and I treated my Grand kid's yesterday for lunch.. Anyway, I wanted to let you know that we are doing fine...

Those pancakes look delicious, mikeysmommy! Can you share the recipe? I'd like to give them a try!
Food is going great...rest day for exercise. I had the hair cut and colored so I don't have to worry about that now! If I can stick with it the next few days, I'll be ready to go on time and the house will be clean! I need to make a list of foods to bring for the trip since we won't stop for fast food...too heavy to eat while riding all day in the car. DS has requested egg salad in lc tortillas and I'll also make a few salads, some pudding, stuff like that. We can have snacks/meals at rest areas and get out to walk around a bit, too.

Happy1....I don't do cm's cuase of the cravings and hunger they caused me. I did do them in my first year of cad, but it was an up and down with cravings and hunger and then I fell off the diet altogether for 17 weeks. So when I finally got back on(after gaining everything back) I was determined to stay on the diet and get this weight off...once and for all!! So I did what Dr.Racheal did and that was one meal a day...I loved the way I felt and still feel on it, I will do this during maintance too! It gets really easy after a couple of days. I only drink water, then at my meal I'll either have water or a drink of juice type drinks with the Braggs vinegar.
Patty, I'm glad you did well during the storm. I will have fun with my kids next week-end...not this one. |

Here is the pancake recipe
Here you go for those that asked. It's WONDERFUL!
When I made them this morning I didn't use the Cinnamon. Also, if you don't use the cinnamon or Splenda you can make savory ones - I did ham and cheese and the Splenda was light so it wasn't too sweet - but I imagine no Splenda and using for low carb enchiladas or seafood crepes with crab, shrimp, heavy cream, mozzarella cheese, parmesan and cream cheese and herbs! YUM! Easy to make, and totally induction friendly ... AND THEY ARE GOOD ! 4 oz cream cheese, softened 4 eggs 4 tsp Splenda dash of cinnamon Blend all ingredients in a blender or hand mixer until smooth. Batter will be thin (not much thicker than water). Cook in pan that is sprayed with non-stick spray. When you make them be sure to not disturb them and let them brown on the bottom before flipping. You can peek and see if they are done. These cook VERY fast so keep an eye on them! Last edited by mikeysmommy33 : 09-05-2008 at 05:21 PM. |
