Lara at 2 pounds a week you are going to be getting to goal quickly!

I am just updating my meals for accountability:
Lunch CM: One slice of White Castle Pie (still have 3 or 4 slices left) makes grab and go easy! I had it with a tiny blob of mayo with dill pickle diced in it.
I also had a mug of Rooibos tea since I am feeling so bloated with TOM coming.
It's by The Republic of Tea called Get Clean - it helps to stimulate the liver to sweep away toxins - when it's TOM time I try to drink around 2 mugs a day for a week. It seems to help. I hate BLOAT!

Hello everyone,

I can't believe how busy this thread is!

I completed WATP this morning at my folks house and tomorrow is Bowflex.

My menu for yesterday included:

CM: 2 cups of black coffee

CM: Tuna w/mayo

RM: Caesar salad and tuna melt on wheat bread w/mayo & cheese

I need to start packing my green beans with me so I won't have to go without my veggies when I am visiting my folks house. I will get this traveling thing right at some point!

I took my chromium and drank plenty of water.

Welcome to those of you that have just joined us!

Hope you have a good time, Patty!

I got out for a bike ride today finally! And I got some pool time!

Food has been on plan but I'm a little short on water today. Still working on it.

Our trip for DS's wedding is in 2 weeks and I'm starting to get really excited! And a little crazy trying to get lists made for food, clothes, exercise while we're gone.

WOE: CAD....had TT/BL 3/24/08 start Simeons 11/ 08
Start Date: 12/18/05...restart cad one meal a day. 3/07
Hi girls!! I'm late getting in, but I just had to get some blackberry picking in before tomorrow, my co-worker will be on vacation for 11 days, so I have to work all of it. I hope I'll get to post at work, I'm going to try it, I think what happened was that I click on someone's link that they posted and it brought all kinds of bugs into the computer system at work....it wasn't anyone here, I was on the main board when I did that, so I'm just not going to open nothing and see how it works. I've been reading and posting at work for a few years, so I just can't beleive that all of a sudden it's causing problems.

I picked my berries and used Jack La Lane's juicer, I got about a gallon of juice. I am freezing the jucie in ice cube trays, then I'll use them for my shakes! Yum, Yum!! My little log crawler blackberries are frozen whole and I'll use those for shakes and cobblers and things. Bill made a big pot of chicken soup, so thats my lunch for tomorrow. I'll freeze some of that too.

My shake for today was raspberry/strawberry, and 3 pieces of bbq chicken, popcorn, small amount of drink/braggs.
I'm only drinking enough juice for my vinager. I stayed the same today on the scale, thats to be expected after losing good for the first two days. I'll just have to be patient and keep doing what I'm doing, my rate of weight loss is 5-8 pounds a month, mostly five, my goal was to lose 10 a month, and so I think I was pretty close.

Oraki, I'm glad hun!
I think you look alot smaller...esp. in your hips!! You have lost quite a bit from your starting weight! I'm so glad you found what works!

Fjeld!!! This is a great plan and the cad family is a bunch of great girls and guys!!! Any questions you have or anything, the girls are great to respond! I hope you love cad as much as we do!! Good luck hun and just ignore the scale while you switch over from low carb, it'll go up sometimes, but then it'll come back down once your body gets used to it. It's the extra carbs that holds the water weight. Just weigh everyday and then average it for the week. I'll take two weeks to be able to average, I hated that part when I first started.... But it's worth it!!

I hope to see everyone in the morning!!

Hello all. I have been lurking for over awhile now and have decided to try this WOE again. I was eating this way earlier in the year and last summer and was really losing weight. However, I let life get in my way. Stress, work, etc...and food became my crutch once again. So I am ready to really buckle down and just do it!
I have come to realize I can't do it alone and would love to join in on posting.I have been really lowcarbing it this week and have dropped about 3lbs trying to get me body release the excessive carb cravings.

I am divorced, no children, late 30's and have made up my mind that by my next birthday-March, I will be considerably less in weight. For most importantly health but I want to look and feel good too. I have been rereading the book for motivation. I know many of you only eat one meal per day, will that slow down the metabolisim? Also, I love the shake idea as meal replacements, what kind would someone recommend? Also, Cindy, I read that you are using Braggs everday. I have used it in salad dressings, but what does it do when you drink it?

Thanks!
Gayle

Hi Guys

Ever since I started this job ,which is casual thank GOD!! I have been whishy washy with my eating. I have NEVER overate, just ate all the wrong things .Counting calories, even with CAD, did not work for me. It seems that if I can have , carbs I will and soon They creep into my everyday life..Yesturday I had a chicken sandwich , Tim Hortons, too salty.... I had a fruit yogert, too sweet!! My tastes have changed so much.

When I eat carbs I do not like carbs but I crave carbs... Make sence??

Every place I read about food that will kill you, carbs win!! They are the killers!!

I read this thread and feel so close to you all. I have tried other threads and although the people are nice , they are not you guys.. So here I am

Shelagh, don't be wishy-washy! Have you learned NOTHING from my wishy-washy journey? Do not make the mistakes I did. I could be thin right now if I wasn't so damn wishy-washy for the past 4 years!! The plan is simple, do not make it complicated. Three excellent filling meals that you enjoy eating... two half protein, half veg; one that is 1/3 protein, 1/3 veg and 1/3 carb. This really controls your cravings for carbs, and you are able to handle the carbs in your RM with no extra cravings. It's all about the insulin.

Also, not all carbs are created equal. The carbs in a sweet potato or an apple are not the same as the carbs in a twinkie or a bag of chips. Those processed foods also contain chemicals that mess you up and monkey with your natural ability to be satisfied. Unless your yogurt contained nothing but whole milk and fruit, your chips contained nothing but potatoes, good oil and salt, your bread nothing but flour, water, yeast and salt, your chicken nothing but chicken: you are eating a processed food designed to keep you hungry and craving. Examine what you are choosing to eat, you may be sabotaging yourself without even realizing it.

So, don't be wishy washy. CAD works. Plan ahead. Plan your day down to the exact time you will eat and exactly what you will eat. Just concentrate on today and get that insulin under control. Choose real complex carbohydtrates for your RM for a few days and see how you feel-- fruit, real yogurt, sweet potato, regular potato-- REAL food, with actual nutrition that your body is wanting and needing, not cookies or birthday cake or ice cream. Save those for later when you are in complete control and have a tight handle on your WOE.

You are going to do great! Just concentrate only on the day at hand. You deserve to be successful, but it takes constant vigilance at first to get you to the "happy place" where it seems easy and the weight is falling off. Planning ahead will make your new job less stressful also, you know what you have to do and when, so it's like a load off your mind.

You can do it, all your cheerleaders are here wishing you the best... But, most importantly, you have to WANT to. Seriously, you gotta want it bad and stay focused on getting thin and healthy.

Maybe, but I also did go kind of crazy at reward meal. Ate way too much.
I have to remind myself that this one meal is not the only time I can have good stuff. I have to spread it out over several instead of trying to scarf it all down at once. Weight same today as yesterday so at least have not added more.

Oraki... you looked good before you started trying to lose and I think you look thinner now. I love zoos. Glad you had a good time.
When I first started CAD again I had to remind myself of the same thing. The first time I tried CAD it was REALLY bad. I know you're doing great!

Thanks!

I ate my RM this morning one cup of milk with ice and espresso and pinch of Splenda, two slices of bread 75 calories for each piece with 1 slice of roast beef on one, and one slice of lean thin ham on the other with shredded cheese melted on top - I then put them under the broiler and when they were done I sprinkled the one with roast beef with garlic powder! Mighty tasty! So I will have CM's the rest of the day.

I'm glad you guys like the pictures! Man, those poppers were HOT HOT HOT last night! My mouth was on FIRE for quite a while after I ate those. I keep my digital camera next to my laptop and that way I can take pictures of my meals quickly and post them to my private blog and always have it close to snap pictures of my kids during the day. I have SOOOO many pictures of my kids! I want to capture as many moments as I can.

Oraki - You are so pretty! I can tell a difference! You look so happy! Your nephew is adorable! Thanks for sharing the pictures. I'm jealous! I want to go to the zoo soon too! I think it's so cool too that you were able to move with more ease there and not feel as winded and not feel like you had to sit down much. THAT is a major non-scale victory and that is SO AWESOME!

vpsutton - You'll get the hang of portions and not feeling deprivation (the diet mind set at your RM) just hang in there you are doing great!

fjeld-

Cindy - I am so happy for you getting your bike back! That is fantastic!

Patty - Doing a happy dance for you and your weight loss!

Hello to everyone I didn't mention personally. Have a great day everyone!

The weight is coming off at a rate of about 2 lbs per week which I'm happy with, but I have a feeling that I can loose faster if I try it out. Plus I've got a 4 day weekend coming up so that's the perfect test scenario. Since I'm at work from 930am until 6pm, I don't think I could wait until 7 for my RM, thats so late. I'd really rather have dinner at night. I'm hoping it will change my mind and maybe I can start doing one RM lunch like you Cindy. Either that or maybe I could do a complentary snack instead. My mini goal is to loose at least 10 lbs a month so that I can be down to 200 lbs by Xmas. And, for the first time in my life, I have no doubt I will get there!

Monica- all I can say is yum!

Patty Ann- I heard the storm is headed in your direction, but I think you will be just fine- hang in there!

Alright it's back to work for me,
have a great CAD day,

Lara
A long weekend is a perfect time to try out the one meal a day. Good luck to you! I definitely know you'll make your goal!

Had 2 egg omelet for breakfast, and planning LC supper, to minimize damage. Maybe with CAD it won't have adverse effect (other than MSG effects)

It rained today, so it was nice to kind of take a little time to go Sam's Club and odds and ends............

Sounds like everyone is doing well. Keep it up, ladies!!!!

Good morning girls....I'm sneaking in here real quick...

I am up 1 pound, for no reason, it's just that you go up and down on any plan, I'm stil doing good on plan, it's gottten sooo much easier now, I have a small twinge of cravings at night, but it's because I have been eating my RM too late in the day....the last two days have been around 2-3 pm and thats too late. I am working for the next 10 days, so I'll be eating at my normal times...11:30
I have homemade chicken noodle soup, tortilla cheesy thing, shake(lemon), carmel corn, drink/braggs.

Hi Gayle!!! I remember ya!! I drink my Braggs in any drink...like....tea's, smoothie fruit drinks, almost anything that is sweet, cause the binegar will sour it or I call it...spice it up!!! I love the taste of the Braggs now and it helps with digestion and a host of other things....it's just plain good for you, thats what the Braggs book says anyway! It's good to have you back hun!! I hope you can find a way to make cad work for you, there's all kinds of ways to use cad to your advantage. It took me a whole year of trying this and that...all in the cad rules, and finally found what works for me.
I think we'll always have to be on the look out for carb creep and bigger portions for the rest of our lives, cause even with cad, I found myself messing up just a tiny bit, but that lead to bigger and more frequent mess ups! I am now in the process of relosing about 12 pounds, that found their way back on during vacation.... Good luck hun!! Remember, you did it once and you'll do it again...

Shelagh....thats alright, you've noticed it and now you can adjust your plan to fit your new working life. Sometimes it takes awhile to figure it out, but you will. I got wishy washy while on vacation, and gain 12 pounds, but now I'm fixing it, it's all a learning process.

I'll be back later....have a good cad day everyone!!

This thread is hopping!!! It's so great to see so many people loving CAD.

Bike and pool time sounds fun!

Cindy do you like your juicer? My husband saw the informercial a few months ago and he would love to have one.

Keep up the good work. You're doing great!
