I'm doing alright. I had a great weight loss of 4 lbs. last week at my Weds. night meeting - but then had a tasty dinner that night and I guess it was loaded with salt and put me up a few lbs. Then, after that I got a bit discouraged and ate a few things I shouldn't have and didn't watch my salt intake either. So, I was pretty good on sunday, really good on monday and tuesday. In fact, on monday and tuesday I only ate 1 meal - a RM type of dinner and made sure I ate it pretty early and didn't eat anything else all evening. That's a miracle for me. Anyway, I also kept my sodium low and drank a lot of water. I was so mad that I gained 7 lbs. of water weight - from just eating a bit of fast food. Anyway, after sunday I lost 1 of those lbs. Then tues when I weighed myself, I had lost 4-5 more of those lbs. Now, as of yesterday - I only had to lose about 2 more lbs. of water weight to get to my same weight I was at last week's meeting. From what the scale says this morning, I know I should at least be back to the same weight as last week with maybe a bit more. Not a lot more - maybe only 1/2 lb.- 1 lb. more, but I have to be so very thankful I was able to get off 7 lbs. in the last few days, even if it was mostly water weight ![]()

Stephanie I am glad that you are doing better. I had poison ivy so bad one time that I had it for 6 mo. before I got rid of it. It got into my blood stream.
How do you make your chicken salad? Do you mean salad with chicken in it, or make it up like tuna? I would love some ideas... |

Girls, I am on a cleaning spree again today. Just got through Windexing my corner shower downstairs. I love that shower. It has the gold trim and frosted glass, with clear inserts of patterns. It shines like brand new money.

About a cup or 4-5 ounces cubed frozen chicken (actually turkey, but it comes out the same) 1/2 stalk celery onion sugar-free pickle relish mayonaise I put the turkey in the food processor and grind it up and put in a bowl. Then put the celery and onion in the food processor and mince those...add to the turkey. Drain the liquid from the pickle relish and add in with the other ingredients. Mix with as much mayo as you like. This makes a salad that is like a spread. I make sandwiches with bread for my dh. For myself I make sandwiches on low-carb flatbread or fill celery with it. ![]()

Good Morning Everyone!
I'm up to 153.5 again which was disappointing this morning - not sure why except for normal fluctuations, and I do know that I'm ovulating and I vaguely remember it going up a bit last month as well. Has anyone else noticed that at ovulation as well as tom? I just have to remember that I have had nothing out of the ordinary in my meals so I will just keep the faith. Congrats Patty! I'm so excited for you - you lost in a week what took me a month! yay - let's just hold hands and keep the faith together that the little fluctuations all work out in the end - we know this plan works! ![]() Stephanie - I was so sorry to read what happened yesterday - take it easy today and feel better! ![]() Have a great day everyone - I'm super busy here at work trying to get ready for my vacation - but I'll catch you again later! -Tink

You ladies were posting about chicken salad while I was writing - I learned a great trick which was news to me a little while ago from a friend. I buy skinless chicken breasts, put them in a baking dish, drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper and cover with foil. I bake in a 350 oven (I use my toaster oven) for 45-60 mins and they come out so beautiful and tender and juicy. When cool I shred some by hand for on top of my green salads and the rest I put into the food processor and get to a small chunk texture and then use with mayo and whatever other flavorings I'm in the mood for to make a substitute for tuna salad since I'm trying to cut back on eating tuna.
I'm sure most of you seasoned cooks already do something like this, but it was a revelation to me how easy it was so I like sharing it for those who are not as handy in the kitchen. I season my chicken salad with chipotle powder sometimes, red onion & some dijon mustard others - and sometimes just good old salt & pepper is perfect. Enjoy - ![]() |

This sounds really good...I'll have to try it! I used to put either whole chickens or several chicken pieces in the crockpot, season with salt and pepper and then leave in for eight hours or so. It becomes so tender, it will just fall apart. I don't do it this way anymore because of dh being a turkey hunter. We roast the turkey and cut it up right away when he gets home from hunting. |

Whoo-Hoo!!! I'm back in the 40's!!!! I can't believe I even lost at all with an all sugar meal!! Anyway, it feels good to be losing again and I'm slimmer in the lower waist, where I was so swollen! So hopefuly this will keep up and I'll get back into my jeans!
Yesterday I just got 3 pairs of white jeans and 2 pairs of white cropped jeans, all for work. The 8's fit, but snug, so I don't want to make myself swell, so I'll wait on those. I still have 30 pds to lose and I said that after the surgery I would take all the time in the world to lose those, butttt....now I'm wanting to get with it and get them off....now!! So I'll be doing a shake day twice a week, and regular meals the other days. I think this will shake it up enough. I have to start a new med today, anti-flamatory type med. it better not make me gain.... Maybe it'll help with my swelling.....![]() Well it's a potluck today with cookies at 1pm, so I'll go get my cookies early and have it with my meal, the cooks here are good cooks and they are doing the potluck, so there should be lots of good stuff to eat!! Flower...good job on the weight loss, even if it is only water weight, it's still good to get that off!! This is why I stay away from resturants!! I'll go once in awhile and then have to step on the scale just to see and then I don't let it bother me if it goes up. Keep up the great work, hun!!! ![]() Steph, are you feeling bettter? I sure hope you don't have to do the steroids, they are so hard on the body!! Plus puts tons of weight on ya!! So don't worry about the scales if your on those things, your doing such a fantastic job and you don't let things bother you and thats half the battle!! Tink, when I ovulate, I get super hungry sometimes for a week, then when Tom shows up, I'll lose on the second day of tom. Sometimes I forget about Tom and I'll be hungry more than usual, then then it dawns on me, and I'll say...what time of month is it.....oh, ya! Thats why I'm eating so much candy!! ![]() I have to get some work done, then I'll be back....Hi to everybody!!! ![]()

Cindy - what makes up a "shake day"? When I get back from NY I really want to get focused on having this weight come off as easily and quickly as possible - that's why I'm asking. Not that I'm not happy so far, but if I can help it along at all, why not?

Tink, I have a meal replacement shake that I add different things to it, I bought it on HSN, and it's called "secure" I have 3 different flavors, choc, mixed fruit, peanut butter. vannilla. I add strawberries, peanut butter (extra), and I use cream or milk instead of water. I t makes for a very yummy shake, sometimes I make it so big, that I can't drink it all, and since it's my RM I can add anything I want to it.!! It works good!!

Oooooh - just ate too much at an Indian Buffet for lunch. Nothing terrible - just too much food - but I felt really hungry today. We'll see how it does for me
![]() Thanks for the info on the shakes Cindy - sounds interesting. I used to love doing slim fast shakes back in the day. The days when I could cut out lunch for a week and drop 5 pounds and 15 seemed to fall off in no time at all. Sigh... I want to nap - not go home and finish packing! Have a good afternoon everyone - -Tink |

Hi all! Flower, I hate, hate, hate those temporary gains -- they can be discouraging, but I know that we know it's only temporary, and it does come back off! Good for you for getting it off so quickly! My family took me out for dinner at a buffet for Mother's Day, and I ate mostly steak, chicken, and salad (made from salad bar) and I gained 2 pounds overnight. I agree with Cindy -- it's the glutamates used in preparing the food. You're doing really well, Flower, so keep up the great work!
Thank you, ladies, for your well wishes! I'm feeling a lot better today, just very itchy!! I don't know what that incident was about yesterday morning, but I'm glad it passed! Cindy, I am taking steroids, but so far, so good. Keep your fingers crossed that I don't gain from them. ![]() MommaPatty, I put chicken breast in the crockpot and let it cook all day, like Shirl said. Then I combined the cooled chicken breast (they get so tender from cooking in the crockpot), a hard-boiled egg, mayo and maybe a bit of chopped celery in my mini food processor and whirl them together. I like to try to keep my CMs as "clean" as possible. Speaking of food, here's what I've eaten today: Lunch (CM): chicken salad, Supper (RM): leftover meatloaf, some shrimp, a salad with English cucumber and thousand island dressing, a forkful of alfredo linquine, 2 apples, 10 Cheez-its, and a Fiber One bar. I mentioned earlier that I walked for 30 minutes and I got all of my water in too. Tink, that is a golden rule to remember on this plan: keep the faith! Gotta go for now....see you all tomorrow!! Take care of yourselves! ![]()

Hi, I am hoping to join in here. I just read and started CAD and I also just read the Beck diet solution. So here I am, checking in for support. I really did great the 1st 3 days and then today I was starving! I did snack but everything was no carb. Then I went overboard on dessert tonight. The good news is the rest of my RM was totally balanced, which was not how I thought it would go considering how much I struggled during the day. I guess I will keep reading the book over and over again until it sinks in. Anyone else read the Beck book?
I am glad this message board is here. Jen
