Yikes, yesterday was a tough day - we were running around until after 9pm, unexpectedly, and I did not plan for being out and about without food!!! I did OK, but I'm sure I took in too many calories when all was said and done. I didn't get on the scales this morning!

CM: 2 scrambled eggs, 3 sl. bologna, fried
RM: chicken fajitas (chicken, peppers, onions), refried beans, guacamole, sour cream, tortilla chips and salsa (not as many as I USUALLY eat)
CM: Red Robin Cobb Salad (HUGE salad w/ lettuce, tomato, bleu cheese, grilled chicken, black olives, egg, bacon) with ranch dressing and I DID have a glass of white wine (my bad)!

E: general frenetic life stuff
W: ~80 oz.

Today promises to be just as insane and I desperately need to go grocery shopping!! Hope you all have a fantastic Friday!!

Hi all!
I'm back from 2 weeks of travelling. Stayed on plan. Haven't weighed but am back in some clothes that didn't fit a month ago

On the soy issue: I never ate much if any soy until I went on Medifast. Soy is the 2d ingredient in all of their foods. I thought maybe it was a coincidence that I started to have migraines and near fainting episodes the same time I started on the diet, but as it turns out, all my symptoms were a reaction to soy. I don't know about the overall health research on it, but I do know that I feel a lot better now that I've cut it completely out of my diet.

I hope everyone is doing well!!
Rebecca

Okay guys, I'm officially bummed. I'm up one pound and now I'm afraid to eat anything.

Yesterday I had:
CM: unsweetened lipton tea, black coffee and 2 eggs with ham

RM: two grilled chicken breasts 3 corn tortillas beans, iceberg lettuce and salsa from Pollo Feliz. They charbroil the chicken with spices.

What the heck? Is it my TOM? Is it salt OMG I'm not happy about this!

This morning, so far I've had 2 fried eggs and water. I have no idea what I'm going to eat for dinner.

fly by hello :)

Accountability:
CM: Coffee iced with sugar free Vanilla Syrup/2 oz. milk
Eggs scrambled in butter with side of turkey bacon!

Rebecca - welcome back! Congrats on fitting into smaller clothes!
joshsmom2002- It's hard when unexpected things happen. Your Cobb salad sounds wonderful! Your white wine must have been nice too! I can't have any wine right now because of my Nortriptyline medication for chronic pain. Some days though I really wish I could have a glass - Hubby and I buy Columbia Winery Cellarmaster's Riesling. It's so yummy! It has hints of honey, pear and apricot
dreamy1- Hope you find the CALP book at the library! I have my CAD book but somehow lost my CALP book during the remodel. I am not sure if it's in a box somewhere or in a cabinet upstairs I want to find it though because I didn't get to read everything and I really enjoyed the recipes at the back.
TearBear WATER AEROBICS!!! That's a GREAT workout!
EmandM- We had so much fun at the party last night! Baby wasn't quite sure what to do with the cake he was given but he figured it out WHAT A MESS!
I can't wait for him to do his "smasher" cake on Saturday. The piece of cake from the big cake was good but a good old little personalized SMASHER cake just for him on Saturday is going to be a riot! I am probably going to make his personalize smasher today - it's going to be in the 90's today so it's going to be another interesting day of trying to frost!
Hoppinn Your RM sounds so wonderful! I LOVE asparagus!
LaraSuzz-
Your burger recipe looks REALLY tasty!
glamazon- You are doing awesome! You should be very proud of yourself! Also, I love the information that you post about healthy things to avoid the bad things. I have mixed thoughts about soy as well. My sister uses a lot of soy stuff because dairy doesn't agree with her but I've always wondered if it's good or not. Too many reports about yes it's good or no it's bad!
oraki- Love the picture that you posted of that food! Recipe PLEASE
Hello to everyone else! Have a great CAD/CALP day!

Monica

LARA! Reality Check! Up one pound is NO BIG DEAL. Your body weight fluctuates every single day and depends on so many circumstances-- water retention being a biggee. You had restaurant food last night-- Mexican! Of course it's loaded with SALT!

One pound is nothing. Take a tablespoon of Braggs and drink lots and lots of water. And for heaven's sake, eat! You are on a plan and you need to stick to it for it to work. Never you mind that one pound, it will probably be gone tomorrow.

Hey. I just found this thread and wanted to say hi. I did this died about 7-8 years ago and lost 35 lbs. Wish I had never stopped. It was so easy. Now I am older, put all of the weight back on and am looking for something to do to get rid of it. I think I am going to give this a go again. Just getting online now to try and find the book. I am sure I have it around the house somewhere but not idea where. I have moved 2x since then. LOL. Anhow just wanted to stop in and introduce myself instead of lurking...

Hi all!

Lara, don't fuss over that one pound, you just stay right on track! It's nothing you're doing or not doing -- like Angela said, our daily weights fluctuate, so please don't beat yourself up!! Here are some direct quotes from the Hellers' book regarding weight fluctuations, Carbohydrate Addict's Lifespan Program (or otherwise known here as CALP): "Most menstruating and premenstrual women find their weights rise by 3 to 5 pounds even though their daily intake of food has not changed. The weights of men and postmenopausal women will naturally vary by several pounds as well, so it is essential that you do not react to your daily weights." "Stay focused on your goal of sticking to the Program, and letting the weight take care of itself." "Stay focused. Weigh yourself and make yourself leave all judgments behind." I, too, would really get bent out of shape over going up, when I knew I was following the plan to a tee, but I've also learned over time that my daily weights "see-saw." It can be discouraging, but remember to put it into perspective, as per the Hellers' advice. Stick with it friend -- the scale will move the right way for you!!

Thanks, Oraki! I just wanted to see the scale move under 200, so like you said, everything else is just the icing on the cake!

Monica, happy birthday to your little guy!

Welcome, ahaire! Much success to you!

Hi, Rebecca -- welcome back!

Glad to hear that you had a good day, Teri 2!! Keep with it!

Be back later! See you all!

Ok, you guys are right. I remember that when I first started this WOE that I would fluctuate 3 pounds sometimes. Then, after tweaking it to work better (no msg, clean CM's) the fluctuation leveled out. I will take braggs tonight with my RM, and I wont think about it. I will do what I've been doing. Sometimes I can get myself into a frenzy with my thoughts, lol. Thanks for bringing me back to reality. All your support means a lot to me. Lara

Congrats to all the losers!

Love all the pictures everyone has been posting! I'm taking a quick break from scanning photos for DS. It's been fun looking back at the all the family pictures!

Got an update about my brother's new baby - she's over 4 lbs. now and may only be in the hospital another 2 weeks! SIL is doing well, too!

I saw a new low on the scale yesterday but bounced back up a few today. I'm not stressed about it because TOM started today. And it didn't bounce as high as it was a few days ago so I'm hoping that it will go back down quickly!

Nice to see so many people posting here lately! Welcome to all the new faces!

RM: Shrimp salad w/avocado, colby cheese, and ranch

I took my chromium and drank plenty of water.

Avocado seems to be a theme tonight! Before reading Teri's post my RM was:

Whole wheat pita stuffed with avocado, tomato, grilled eggplant with melted cheese and honey mustard. It was amazing.
Followed by a cup of cherries, chocolate-covered almonds and some coffee with cream and sugar. Yum.

Quick post - crazy busy day today - and through the weekend! Food going well - had a yummy carnitas burrito, a peach, couple bites of greek yogurt and dark chocolate for RM - was planning on a light cm at some point tonight but it's so hot, it may not happen. Just had an iced coffee though with cream -yummm!

Anyone know what happened to Mel aka Glendora? haven't heard from her in a couple of weeks and I miss her!

You ladies have me thinking about avocado now!
I am going to have to pick some up from the grocery store when I go shopping this weekend! They are so tasty!
I was thinking how lovely Lara's cheeseburger would be (with all the beef recall would probably use ground turkey) - but her recipe, bunless with avocado sounds superb! OR if I feel like having my carbs with toasted sourdough bread!
Alright, off to bed I go- I have severe GERD too much sugar free lemonade this evening

This is a quick drive by post. I just wanted to tell everyone have a great CAD weekend! I'm working today so I'll post more once I get home. The scale went back down to 224.5 but it bounced back up yesterday. I know it's due to that red velvet cake but hey it's RED VELVET CAKE!! My favorite is carrot cake but red velvet is a close second!! This time around on CAD I've decided I'm not going to sweat the fluctuations. It just drives me crazy and then I try to get super strict with my rm and that doesn't work for me. Some days are more balanced than others but overall I'm losing and that's what really matters. I did use up all my ww extra points though with the cake. It was worth it though!!!

Have a great weekend and I'll BBL!!
