WOE: CAD/CALP
Good Mornig Ladies!

WOW! We are busy on here! I'm glad so many people are following CAD/CALP.

I am up a pound. I only had 1 meal yesterday (a RM) and thought I would lose but I think it was too late in the evening because it sat like a brick. I will do my cm's and rm today.

MikeysMommy33 ~ You loved the key lime squares!LOL! (I used the box too) Sorry about the stresses right now. You did good though! WTG!

Oraki ~ thanks for the nice words on my pounds lost. I also wanted to say that your menu sounds good and gives me good meal ideas.

Patty ~ I really hope your itching issue can be resolved soon. That has to be miserable.

Cindy and Stephanie ~ you both continue to inspire me with the tremendous weight losses. ANd your before and after pics are really motivating. It took me along time to read over the older posts I had missed. Stephanie, congrats on passing your goal! WooHOO! Your my CAD hero!

Teri (Hoppinn) ~ your commitment to exercise is awesome. I was thinking about it yesterday and I went out and took a walk. I have to move more, it feels so good when you just do it.

Hi to all of you on here! I hope you all Have a Great CAD/CALP Day!!!!!!

My menu for yesterday:
(RM)~ a big piece of meatloaf, a small serving of mashed potatoes, lots of brussel sprouts, and 2 pieces of the Strawberry and Cream cookie dessert bar thing that Stephanie had posted a while back. I printed it back then and just got around to making it. It was GOOD! I started my meal with a salad with ham, cheese, tomatoes, cukes, croutons and french dressing.

My dinner included potatoes, tomatoes and cukes from our garden. I thought that was pretty cool. I love growing our own food!

Good morning, all! Thanks for your nice words, ladies!!

Lucille, nice to see you! How have you been? How is your garden doing? Great to have you back!

Monica, I love seeing your pictures, and your meals looks so good! Keep sharing, please!

CKmom, I've used the shiratake noodles before, but only at my RMs. They were a nice substitute for me when I was making my family spaghetti, as I am a former spaghetti/pasta lover!! I haven't had them in a while (they were expensive). Now, when I make spaghetti or a pasta dish, I have a small amount (hard, but....) or I fry thinly sliced cabbage and use that for my "spaghetti."

Lora, definitely read the book, and in fact, take notes. This plan has been a life-saver for me! I have both CAD and CALP, and I refer to them often. In fact, I have a little bag that I keep all of my CAD books, notes, cookbooks, etc. in, right here in my little computer nook.

Patty, I hope you can figure out what's causing your itching. It can make you crazy!

Oraki, thanks for sharing your menus. I'm always interested in learning new recipes.

Shelagh, better days are ahead!

Thank you, Cindy!

OK, gotta run for now....see you all later! Stay on your plans!

Good morning,

Checking in for accountability, since I have no time for anything else.

I completed my Bowflex exercise last night and already completed WATP this morning.

My menu for yesterday included:

CM: 2 cups of black coffee

CM: Pork chop and green beans w/vinaigrette

RM: Chicken Taco Salad w/beans, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese & guacamole in a fried Flour Tortilla Shell

I took my chromium and drank plenty of water.

Girls, I guess after having Chronic Itching for 5 years, I have just learned to tolerate it.
I itched a little after I took my shower this morning, but it has quit. I haven't used the Sanatizer since day before yesterday. It would be wonderful, if that is all it is. I think it takes about 5 days for something to get out of your system, so we will see..

On a happier note I am down another .6lbs this morning so I just like ,2 lbs of being at my siggy weight... and then on the other hand, we will be going to Shreverport Friday, and I will be eating buffet food and we all know what that does to you, but I refuse to worry about every little bite of food that I put in my mouth and not enjoy life. I went through that when I was on Atkins, and I was totally miserable...

Cindy Melanie lost her first baby last week at her work. The baby was borned dead. They said the lady knew a month ago that something was wrong and they checked her out and couldn't find anything wrong. That is so sad, because they probably could have saved the baby, but then if, it had lived, there is no telling what shape the baby would have been in... I know this breaks Melanie's Heart. She is so soft Hearted...

quick questions for Angela and Cindy

Cindy - I found the Braggs! I'm excited. Ok girl, tell me what to do with it! lol

Angela - I bought Tom's of Maine toothpaste. It doesn't say anything on the box about it's suitability for toddlers. So my girls don't spit, which means they will swallow it. These are the ingredients. Can you tell me if you know whether it's ok for them?

Calcium
Water
Glycerin
Sodium bicarbonate
xylitol
carrageenan
peppermint oils
sodium lauryl sulfate
myrrh
propolis

There are a few ing. in there I don't recognize. Thanks in advance.

I found coconut oil too. I did a big shop today at the Organic store and it feels good to stock up on unprocessed things.

Mikesmommy - I love looking at your food. You display everything so nicely. I am anaphalactic (sp?) with shellfish, but darn I wanted to eat your shrimp! lol

Shelagh - glad to hear you are feeling better and back on track. Be good to yourself. I agree with Amy, it takes a while to adjust to a new job. I am psyching myself up to head back to teaching in Sept!

CKmom - Check the carb content. I am pretty sure from my recollection, your source of protein should be no more than 2 grams of carbs (sugar should not be in the first 4 ingredients). Check the ingredients and the carb count. If you aren't sure, save it for RM. I have tofu dogs, soy protein sources etc the odd time for my CM and it hasn't stalled me, so you could always try and see.

Last night I went out for dinner and my RM was:

grilled veggie and cheese wrap (sooooo good) and an apple crumble. I was stuffed beyond belief (the portions were huge and I ate every bite) but it was worth it. Forgot to weigh today but I am sure I'm up from that, which is ok cause I was too low yesterday!

Have a great CAD day and stay on plan!

Checking in ... love reading all your posts. (I do read them, really) I get lots of ideas from all of you.

I do have a question, too lazy to google. Difference between CAD and Calp is ??

I love babies. ..thats so sad when someone loses one at any time, let alone at birth.

Vinegar. Braggs. Using it too, two tblsp at midday. I do not know what its doing tho.

Eating on plan. Doing good, and trying not to over eat at my RM. Drinking my water and exercising. Todays workout was 1 1/2 miles of WATP 3 without the weights today, and some callan stretches and sit ups.

Have a great day today everyone.

Sheila - do you put the braggs in anything? When and what do you drink it with?

CAD is the original diet plan which said RM should be not an all-out binge, but you could eat whatever you want (ie. a stack of pancakes). CALP is a much more balanced approach where you divide your plate into thirds. 1/3 is protein, 1/3 is low-carb veg (those you would eat at a cm) and 1/3 is your high carb. If you want more of your RM you have to go back for more of all three. There are a bunch of ladies who do well on CALP (Angela and Teri for example) and there are those who don't balance and they are successful too (myself included).

Hope this helps!

Pam

Sheila CALP is too much trouble for me, so I do CAD. I eat whatever I want in a 1 hr. period and nothing after my RM Meal. I love it, because if, I want seconds on something, then I don't have to go back and eat all the 1/3 portions again to do so...

Hi Pam, the only iffy thing in there is the SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, the foaming agent.) It's very hard to get away from. I avoid it as best I can, but it's near impossible. Everything else is fine enough. Just be sure it's the children's kind CLEARLY labeled "fluoride free." Not all Tom's toothpastes are fluoride-free, so you really need to read the box and the labels carefully.

Angela - thanks so much for the info. I didn't get one that is specifically for kids, so I will have to double check the fluoride-free thing. In the meantime I will use it myself and wait on the kids until I know for sure it's ok for them. Thanks again! I found the virgin coconut oil too so I will be trying that soon too!

Hi Ladies,
Checking in for my accountability this morning.
I have a pinched nerve in my neck/shoulder area and it's been bothering me since about 3 am
Today is going to be around 90 degrees again! I am looking forward to cooler weather that is suppose to arrive later this week.
Here is my breakfast this morning:
CM: Half omelet with chicken sausage (Son ate other half), tiny bit of cottage cheese with pinch of Splenda and generous sprinkle of cinnamon on top (done by son ) He must want to help me regulate my blood sugars
I had a good serving of green and yellow zucchini cooked in olive oil
I'll be back later!

Inspiration!

Hello ladies, how is everyone?

This thread is so busy it took two pages to read! I'm down another pound and I know it's because of this wonderful group of people that share all their expeniences and now I know that I've got my personal CAD ways down pact. Thank you! I'm pretty muuch doing protein in the mid morning and then rm will be light like Subway or something. Partially because of Oraki's menu I thought, hey, I'm not really that hungry at dinner, I'm going to try to cut out dessert and it's working! yay. I can always have something good for dinner tomorrow. Guess what? I CAN DO THIS!!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT WITH ME!! lol. About a month ago I asked the universe to give me a diet that I could do with ease and see the pounds fall off and this was the answer. Don't be afraid to ask for what you want and the universe will take care of the rest. Visualize yourself with the body you want, and it will happen!

I ate more than I planned on today. I did some emotional eating during my rm. I have some anxiety right now and it translated to my food choices. I still have some of my extra 35 left though. I won't be surprised if the scale is up tomorrow. I didn't make the best food choices but at least I stuck to plan.

Have a great evening.
