to you "Bunch of Losers"
We're all gettting there. We just have some off days and then that's life, isn't it.
Yesterday my dil showed up at dinner time with a huge bucket of chicken and the side dishes. I have my RM at lunch so I ate massive amounts of the chicken with my salad (took the skin off) and lost a pound this morning. You've got to love a program like this.
The scales are finally going down pretty steadily and I'm thinking of putting up a poster in the kitchen that says,
YOU CAN NOT EAT LIKE A "NORMAL" PERSON. CAD IS THE ONLY PROGRAM FOR YOU IF YOU WANT TO SUCCEED! Because like I've said before, once I start eating this way, then the thought comes in that I can just cut portions, try this diet, etc. etc.
So to all just know we will overcome.
Hope the sick get better, the discouraged feel lighter in your worries and burdens, the worn out get rested, the post operative folks heal nicely and all have a great day

COngrats on the 1 pound down. Way to go on the chicken. That was awesome. I don't know that I could have resisted the skin and sides. MMMMM, sides!

Good Morning everyone!
I overslept again so more later today. Scale is wobbling between dropping the .5 it went up yesterday and sticking at 153. But I know all is well so I won't let it get to me. Just keep on keeping on!

Have a great day everyone - I hope that your plans bring you joy today! It's supposed to get into the 90's here today - we're starting a heat wave which I hope does not kill my garden while I'm away! Ugh... looks like rain when I'm in NY too

Okay have to run - Tink

Thanks Lucille, As I said before I ate Massive quanities of the plain chicken Tink, I just read your statement at the bottom. Isn't that something how much one can lose by cutting out the sugar and flour and the processed foods aren't good for any of us! So much of eating is just habit though. Stay cool today at those terribly high temperatures.

It will be seafood tonight. I'm thinking along the lines of steamed or broiled Swordfish, Mahi mahi or Tilapia. Very clean and healthy. That in itself is a reward!

Hi Everyone! I'm feeling really good today! I really think all my working out and eating right is a key to feeling so good after the surgery. I'll be carefully doing some exercise today. And I'm going to do some cooking ahead.

My weight was up a little but I imagine it's from the stress of the surgery and all because I've been eating on plan. So I'll just be patient and wait for it to drop back down.

Not sure what I'll be eating today but I'll decide while I'm cooking.

Have a great day everyone!

MommaPatty - Sounds like you're having a real productive day at home. You already got your laundry going and utility room spotless! Good for you! I too have to clean up - do dishes, clean the kitchen, polish, vacuum - then do my exercise, then run a few errands, then make dinner, then give my 1 and 3 year old a bath tonight. After that, I'll be too pooped to pop - so I'll put the kids to bed and enjoy some reading. I always love to read and find it wonderful and relaxing to do when they go to bed.

Stephanie - thanks again for posting those strawberry bars! I too just know I would LOVE them and it's something I probably could not control myself with! So, next time there's a family party I will make those and bring them with. That way, I can eat 1 or 2 of them and be done. I can't wait to try them though!!! I hope your eye gets better real soon!!!!

Dana - I want to try those strawberry bars so badly, but I'm like you and know I could not just stop at one! So, when I make them for the first time, I will share them with others!

Linda - I'm glad you're feeling good after surgery!

Teri - The taco salad you had for your RM yesterday sounded very good!!! I just had one from a restaurant a few weeks ago. I ate 1/2 of it for a dinner one night and the other 1/2 the next night. I never thought that I can get those shells at the store and make homemade taco salads! I prefer making food at home when I can, because at least I know what ingredients are in it and how much sodium, etc. Thank-you for the taco salad idea!!!! It's one of my favorite foods and I know I could make it pretty healthy if I make it at home.

DrewsMimi - I have been trying to have a nice balanced RM type dinner every night and my I visited my Mom on mother's day and she wanted KFC. Well, I had a piece of chicken and sides. I also was a pound lighter on the scale the next day! I wasn't expecting that because the food is pretty salty. But, I think because we ate early at 3 pm and it was my biggest meal of the day is why I lost weight. Isn't it great that you can eat what you enjoy and lose weight?

Hello to everyone else I may have missed!

flower it sounds like your day, is just about as busy as mine. Really I should say that your day is busier.

We are going to have fried spam sandwiches for supper tonight. I am too tired, and want something easy to fix.

Momma Patty - Well, I guess I'm used to busy days with my kids. But, usually it's just me taking care of them, doing 1 load of laundry and bit of cleaning. When I have to add things to it - like run errands and bath night, that's when it gets a bit tiring. My dh isn't home much at all, otherwise I would have him help. Anyway, it's almost time for me to fold clothes and get going on all my chores. If I have time later, I'll be back.

Hi Everyone -
I'm a little disappointed with my RM today - I screwed up and left my greek yogurt at home which I was really looking forward to and counting on for additional protein. I brought two salmon burger patties as well, but I only wanted one. I had a huge salad with bacon on it as well and avocado and then a mango and an apple and a couple of squares of dark chocolate. Somehow nothing quite hit the spot - oh well, I'll survive. Also having some coffee now to keep me alert this evening since I have to get SO much done to be ready for my trip - it's amazing how there's always a million little last minute things. But I am getting really excited! Thank you to everyone who has been sending good wishes - I'll be keeping in touch while I'm gone - and I just heard from my oldest friend - we've known each other since she was born, so she's more like a sister really - and she said we'll be taking walks in the morning and that she does Yoga once a week so that will be helpful too with anything extra that I eat. I really don't want to undo the work I've done - I'm okay with not losing anymore (although that would be great!) but I really don't want to gain. Then when I get home - onward - 140's here I come!

I'm sorry I haven't been too personal with my messages lately - I hope it doesn't offend - I'm just a busy girl and it helps me to stay motivated to just check in quickly and let you know what's on my mind - it's not that I'm not paying attention or thinking of all of you too!

Have a good afternoon/evening -
-Tink

Hi girls, this is just a check in, I had a very busy day at work and wasn't able to post. I had an all sugar RM, cereal, 4 cups, deserts.....I'll pay for it tonight, I'll be hungry, but I won't blow it, it's too ingrained in me to just ignore it. I don't get that hungry anyway. Tomorrow is potluck, put on by the kitchen and I have to help pass out cookies at 1pm, so I'll grab a couple of cookies for the pot luck, since I won't be able to eat any later. I'll be glad when hospital week is over....too many goodies, today was icecream feed!!

I'm going to go lay down, too tired to respond today, I'll see you all tomorrow!!

Hello,

I am heading out of town again tomorrow so I thought I would take a few minutes to say hi to everyone!

I want to complete my 3 miles of WATP in the morning and won't have enough time to do both.

My menu for today included:

CM: 2 cups of coffee

CM: Pork chop & green beans w/vinaigrette

RM: Salad w/ranch, avocado, bacon bits, colby cheese, & shrimp

I took my chromium and drank my water.

I hope everyone is doing well!

This always happens to me, too, Patty. When I'm really busy, I don't get hungry. Usually that happens when I'm making a meal for guests. On that day, I love to have a clean house and just spend my time cookin'!

Also, entertaining is such a great motivator for me to get my house clean!

After doing induction for two days, I'm down three lbs.
