I love that I can eat carbs on this, and I am really struggling to "hold out" for my body to stabilize and for the scale to start going back down.

I know there's no real answer...I need to suck it up, but these 10 lbs + the tight clothes just make me feel like a diet failure. Even though I would have killed to be at this weight 2 years ago. Now that I've seen and felt the lower number, my perspective is lousy.

Thanks for listening to my vent
I can sympathize with you. I started CAD on 7/13. I was spoiled, because when I started Atkins 1 1/2 years ago, the weight just melted off. And it isn't melting for me on CAD.

I am trying to practice patience, which supposedly should have more of, since I have lived thru 3 kids............ and give CAD a chance to work.
Hang in there, and hope the weight turns around.

Hi Guys, hope all is well today.

Angela-- so good to see you. counting calories with cad is a real good idea. I think we can probably have more because of the science( insulin) I will try for 1800 also. Thanks for the idea.

Cindy.. You look beautiful, what an inspiration.

Pam ..Thanks for the encouragement, enjoy your trip

Teri.... I really enjoy your blog. I am putting the scale away.

Kate ..you look very pretty

I had a bunless hamburger for CM
RM>.. yogert, milk, ice cream( milkshake)... hotdog and bun, salad

Hi guys! Just wanted to drop in really fast before I leave work for the day and tell you that I'm down 3 lbs after going to one cm instead of two!!!

Yesterday, I had egg salad with mayo, chopped celery and chopped dill pickel and for dinner I had a cheeseburger french fries and a coke plus two florentine cookies!!!

Thank you for the advice! Everyone have a good weekend!

Oh, no. I am so far behind!

Cindy, you look AWESOME. Wow!

Hi, Terri! (waving)

LOL @ Pamela...the old Brownie Cure...now why didn't I think of that...

Thanks to everybody who offered me well wishes! I actually suspect right now that I was bitten by a black widow spider and that has caused my woes. The reason I think this is that 1) I was cleaning a garage for four hours in my bare feet...in the southwest (duh), 2) I got my migraine right after, 3) a few hours later there was (and is) a hard-ish spot, almost like a bee sting site, which had become very painful, on the bottom of my foot and 4) today I feel nauseated and dizzy. Sure all sounds like a black widow spider bite to me. I know we have a population of them somewhere as I've seen two or three outside and in the garage. No biggie. I obviously didn't have severe allergic reaction and the poison works its way through one's system in a few days and there you have it.

I'll post my meals later and have to read some on this thread now!

Hang in there, and hope the weight turns around.
What I found with Atkins v. CAD was that with Atkins, I lost about ten pounds...FAST. Like in the first two weeks. And then...ground to practically a halt, or at least started losing very very verrrrrrrrrry slowly after that. And I stopped losing here and there (plateaued).

With CAD, I lost fairly slowly from the beginning...but I did lose. Maybe two pounds a week; maybe only half a pound a week. But I did lose. And I was able to stick to it in a way I wasn't able to stick to Atkins.

CAD is slower from the beginning, but other plans tend to slow down or stop entirely when the body freaks out because it's been losing so fast. This probably isn't true of 100% of the population, but I see a lot more plateaus on the Atkins board I go to than on either of the CAD boards. I feel that over time they even out and you lose about the same; say, over a 3-month or 6-month period.

Anyway, hope that was at least a little encouragement for you girls! You're doing great!

I am trying to remember who asked how the cheescake was....it was DELICIOUS!!
Actually Sarah and Brenden had brunch about 1130 and they had another slice each but the rest is still in the freezer .... that's OK with me tho as I know I CAN have another piece if I want too

I am cooking up a curry for tonight. It does have a small potato and apple grated into it plus a wholecan of coconut milk so I may just pass on that. I am thinking I will make myself an omellette with cheese bacon and mushrooms in and some cooked cabbage with sesame oil and thai spice.
My Treat....hmmmm,that's right, there is some peppermint chocolate sitting in the door of the fridge.... nah just joking, I Am gonna have some of that fresh fruit salad again with some yoghurt & mueseli and a coffee with cream

I am still amazed how this WOE works but I am understanding how the insulin controls us. Last night I was OVER 2kgs heavier than when I weighed this a.m. HOW you body can get rid of all thatweight overnite beats me!!But I LOVE it!!!

Mel, this is so right on!!!! It's what I found out too! I lost slow but steady on CAD, but on Atkins, I lost fast, then stalled out. I'm glad others are starting to see this, cad is so much easier of a plan and you do get to goal.
Thanks for posting this!!

I am also happy with the slow loss. At least this is something I can live with. I have lost 6 pounds in three weeks. And, most importantly, it hasn't been hard and it wasn't expensive! I paid I don't know how much to lose 7 pounds on Jenny Craig last year and then give up because I was hungry all of the time.

I am going on vacation for the next two weeks. It is a family beach vacation. Both of DD's will be there! I am confident that I will stay on plan (mostly anyway!). The house we rented is supposed to have wireless internet so my laptop should work. Which means that I can stay in touch with my CAD ladies!

Cindy - you said that you had a ways to go with your weight loss. I think you look really, really good in the picture you posted!

Have a good night everyone!

Kate

That was my experience too....I lost about 13 lbs the first 2 wks. But did stall and then in vain you try the M&E to kickstat and it just doesn't happen and for me it is not a plan that I can carryon with very long! CAD is just so doable and you don not feel you are going without! Lol I think I used to feel sorry for myself and so what did I do.I busted out big time and ate everything in sight!!! Not anymore pleased to say.OK I am off to have dinner............ now that is something I just MUST HAVE

Just a quick check in! I need to get ready to go out of town to meet my MIL for lunch.

I completed my WATP yesterday and today is Bowflex.

My menu for yesterday included:

CM: 2 cups of black coffee

CM: Pork chop and green beans w/vinaigrette

RM: Shrimp salad w/avocado, bacon bits, colby cheese, & ranch, and an ice cream bar

I took my chromium and drank plenty of water.

Checking in for today. I've been doing pretty good, mostly just skipping CMs and eating my RM. We had dinner out with some family members last night. Mexican. So I ate chips, salsa, chimichanga and then some yogurt. I have lost 5 lbs so far so still doing good. Hope all you ladies have a great weekend.

Gorgeous photos, Pamela!

I have put my new dog on a raw diet, and now he follows me around like I'm a goddess with spongebob stars in his eyes. He is completely thriving on the raw food, and surprise surpise, it's low carb. Does anyone else have their dog or cat on a raw diet? I'm feeding him the frozen NW Naturals nuggets that are all pre-made for me. I've not yet risen to the challenge of assembling the raw food myself. Although I could, I suppose! I make all the same things for myself and the family, why not pass a portion to the dog?

I'm holding on to my 5 pound loss (264 again today) so today I'm going to push the activity more to see if I can break back into the 250's. I'm almost there!

Angela, good on the loss! I don't have any pets right now (sniffle) but I never tried the pets I did have on a raw diet. I'll consider it when we finally do get a new kitty.

Teri, hope you have fun at lunch with MIL!

Mom2, Mexican, mmmmmmmmmmm. I haven't had Mexican in the longest time...and me in Southern California! Go figure. You can't swing a dead marmot around here without hitting a Mexican food joint.

I'm feeling much better today, and full of energy. So I'm going to go finish cleaning my closet and then if it's not too hot out, I'll walk my boys in their double-stroller to WalMart to look for some pills for DH...his back is hurting.

Hi girls!!

Thank you Kate, I feel really good, but I have 26 more to go and I want to try to get there, and if I don't I'm still o.k. with it. I love how comfortable I am in my own skin....this is a first for me!!! And it wouldn't have happened if it weren't for cad!!!

Angela, I wanted to put my dogs on a raw diet, but Bill didn't want to, so I fix them stir fry's and such with meat and veggies...it's weird how they like thier veggie's!! Cooked carrots and cabbage....weird??!! Even our vet says to use dog food instead of cooking for them, I can't imagine that dog food is healthier than real food...I also give them doggie vitamins, so they are covered.

Today's lunch will be leftover ribeye, salad/ranch, bean soup, cake, ice cream bar. drink/braggs.

My CLA came in yesterday, wow that was fast, I love Nettrition for that, I was out and the boost it gave me yesterday was great!!
I'm feeling better on the lower portions, so I hope I will continue this and not let portion creep, get back in!! At least I know what maintance will be like!! That will be great...ANYTHING I WANT!!! Just as long as it's one meal.

I'm so glad to hear the steady losses for you girls, I know it's slow, but the time flies on cad, it dosen't even feel like dieting, does it?! You'll be at goal in no time!!
Keep up the great losses, everyone!!
