Good Morning everyone -
Scale at 154.5 today - not bad considering my crazy eating day yesterday. I definitely went off the deep end with being off plan and succumbing to my cravings. This tom is kicking my butt and I have been really irritable and on edge since Sunday eve so I thought to myself if eating off plan today will help to soothe me, then so be it. Nothing was too terrible that I ate - it was more that I ate steadily throughout the day - snacking right up until I went to sleep. Who knows what that was all about - I can't even remember the last time I had cravings like that. But, of course the key is back to it today - and I'm thankful the scale is not being unkind - at least not today - so I'm going to jump right back on the wagon today and hang tight. The cravings aren't there so much again today as the temptation "well, I did it yesterday so one more day..." - and there is where the slippery slope can begin - so I say NO! and will have a good healthy mid-day RM - not sure of what yet, I have some food here already, or might go and get a salad bar. Will report back for accountability later. Pam - Your post stuck out to me - I lost my mom to lung cancer 5 1/2 years ago - I don't think anything could ever prepare anyone for the loss of our moms - at any age, but especially as a teen. I miss mine all the time as well - somehow we adapt and go on, but it is always different isn't it? Everyone have a wonderful on plan day! (she says to herself LOUDLY! ![]() - Amy

Hi all! We (DDs and me) just got back from a nice walk outside (in between the raindrops). I swear our dog is spoiled -- he just loves his walks!
Hi Dana! Thanks for the nice compliments! I'm so glad that you're doing well, with stress eating and all. It's not easy, is it? And to have to move -- yikes! That is so very stressful! Will the move be soon? I'll be thinking of you, sending you good thoughts! Hopefully you get to enjoy the fruits of your garden before you have to move. Monica, your meal looks so delicious!!! And the ole' undies hanging off of the street sign are a hoot! Hmmmm...wonder what the circumstances are that they ended up there? I hope you feel better! ![]() Lara, you're welcome. I wish you much success with this program --you can do it! Quick sideline -- I was eating this great vegetable dip at my CMs; it was really delicious, and a good way for me to get more CM-friendly veggies in. Well, I noticed that I was stalling with that too, and lo and behold, it had MSG in it -- it was one of the main ingredients! I knew it was low carb (I think it had something like 2 carbs per serving, so that was within the Hellers' guidelines) but right in the ingredients was listed MSG! So now I read the ingredients -- never assume anything! That's what I mean when I say I try to eat "clean" CMs. To me, this has really made a difference! Pam, I hope you have a wonderful time! Your new suit sounds like it's going to be cute! I know you went with the black one, but I'm a fan of the color combo of pink/brown too! I'm so sorry that you lost your mom, and I feel your pain. I lost my dearly beloved mom when I was 30 and she was 55 (she died from a glioblastoma -- cancerous brain tumor). I think of her and my dearly beloved dad every day (he passed away 10 days after he suffered a heart attack and never regained counciousness). It's an unimaginable pain to endure when one of your parents dies. My comfort comes from knowing that they are together, and one day I will see them again. Pamela, have a well-deserved rest! ![]() Teri, can't wait to see pictures! Yay, Patty! Keep up the good work! The whoosh fairy visited me last night! This morning, the scale read 199! I thought I'd wake up to a loss, as I was peeing a lot more yesterday, and especially through the night. I don't know if I'll change my signature yet, though, because it seems when I do, Murphy visits!! Did I post my RM for last night? If not, here it is: grilled steak, baked zucchini, Italian pole beans, a big bowl of fresh strawberries and blueberries, and a milk shake. My girls want homemade pizza tonight, so I'll be making that for them and dh. I'm not sure what I'll make for myself as far as my protein goes. Maybe the cauliflower pizza? We'll see....Have a great day, all! Stay on your plans, as you are all worth it! When the world says, "Give up," Hope whispers, "Try it one more time." ~Author Unknown ![]()

Hi ladies, how's it going?
Well, I did check the ingredients for my tuna and no msg, but I didn't loose last night, not sure why. Maybe I'm eating too much at my cm's. yesterday I had cm: scrambled eggs cm: tuna salad with celery and chopped dill pickle and for my rm: I had half a pastrami sandwich, half a chili dog, two french fries and a soda. I also had 3 chocolates and 6 prunes, lol. Last week when I was sick my rm's were really light and I seemed to loose faster. Gosh y'all I can't wait for this weight to be gone. Stephanie, you've done so well, 100 pounds, just amazing, congrats. =) Much love, Lara ![]() |

Amy, isn't it wonderful that our WOE is a little more Carb Friendly. When I was on ATKINS, i never would have been able to eat Ice Cream and Cake, and lose weight. I just love this WOE.

Girls for those of you that are having trouble losing... Try eating one slice of cheddar cheese at your CM's only, and see, if that kicks you into losing. I eat the ceddar cheese and it curbs my appetite all day long...

Just checking in
Hey ladies,
I did not fall off the face of the earth. I am just busy with my brood. I am doing good. 3 lbs. so far. I did not do so good yesterday. My first day to eat off plan but my kids came in with Taco Bell and it smelled soooo good. Ooops I ate a burrito and had already eaten my RM at lunch. Today is good. I've had some cheese and will wait for dinner for RM. |

![]() ![]() I knew you would do it!!!! I'm so happy for you...your at GOAL!!! I'm so glad you decided to try cad before doing surgery!! Thats so cool...I bet your just on cloud nine!! Nice going and in just a short time too!!! You started cad the same month I went to one meal..![]() Hi everyone....it's been so busy at work that this is the first time I've had a chance to get in here. I had spagettii, chips, ranch, pinapple, cake, ice cream. I'm aching to get back on my bike, but I better not...there was this girl that had a tummy tuck and at 3 months post op, she did a back flip and did some dive's off her swimming board and tore the muscle, now she has to go have a second surgery...so I'm going to be a good girl and NOT do anything to hurt myself, I'm already really sore just from running around at work. I'm ready for a couple of days off! I see alot of you are losing and I'm so proud of you girls....your doing good!! Everyone keep it up and I'll see you tomorrow!! ![]()

Hi ladies - congrats on the losses!
Steph - I do love pink and brown. Isn't it a great combo? My bedding is that combo (had to really persuade DH on the pink though) and so is my bathroom. i have chocolate brown tiles with pink and choc. brown towels. I love it! If they had the one-piece halter in pink and brown that would have been the best! Congrats on hitting the 100 pound loss! woo hoo! How tragic that you lost your parents within days of each other. And 30 is so young. It's tough, especially when you have your own kids. I am always so sad that my kids won't know my mum. I have a great stepmum though, so they have a wonderful grandma. Patty - cheddar cheese really does curb the appetite. That is what I will have if I need a CM snack. Tink - so sorry to hear about your mum. It does change things and I had a really, really touch time as a teen. It shaped the rest of my life, really, and I still struggle with it. I also see things differently now that I am a mother. I cannot imagine what it must have been like for her to know she was going to die and leave her children. How awful for her as well as for us. ![]() Cindy - smart to lay off the bike for a bit. You dont want a second surgery! Pamela - congrats on your loss as well!! My RM tonight was a 6" toasted grilled chicken sub from subway. 2 cookies (one M & M and one chocolate chunk). 1 pecan delight and a cup of cherries. I. Am. Stuffed! Have a great CAD day! Pam |

OH Pamela, that is awesome!!!! Nice loss!
Way to go on your loss too, Patty! Cindy, you're smart to take it easy! Well, I woke up this morning feeling horrible, with a sore throat and a lot of dizziness. So we didn't go to school. But long about 9:30 or so I suddenly got a bug up my butt to clean my garage. (Don't ask.) I even decorated it! There are curtains in there now, and pennants from my husband's college days. So I did about four hours of hard physical work today. I'll bet I'll be sore tomorrow. My throat feels about the same, but it doesn't seem to have stopped me from eating. CM: 3 fried eggs RM: 2 deviled egg halves tuna salad serving of LC cole slaw serving of green beans Latte w/Splenda and vanilla extract brownie I am SO FULL but I think I must have needed it from all that work. I was very hungry. Talk to you girls later...

Thank you, my friends, for your support!! ~
~ I still can't believe it! I know that I will see-saw with my weight, but it's nice to see that number. I don't think I've seen this weight since my early high school years, and that was in the 80's (I graduated in '85)!Lara, MSG can be hidden in your food. In CALP, the Hellers are quoted as saying "MSG can be listed in any of the following ways: Hydrolyzed plant protein, hydrolyzed food starch, monosodium glutamate, hydrolyzed food protein, natural flavors, vegetable protein." The tuna I eat has one of these listed in its ingredients. Some people might not be sensitive to the effects of MSG and/or its derivatives, but like I said, it stalled me. The Hellers are quoted as saying (in CALP) that "it is important to remember that MSG is often used to make laboratory animals fat; in our experience, what it can do to those little animals it most certainly can do to you." I hope this information may help you, Lara. ![]() Pam, actually, brown and its various shades are my favorite colors! Melanie, I hope you're feeling better! ![]() Here's what I ate today: CM -- green beans and some cheese, RM -- 1 piece of "zucchini" pizza, 1/2 piece of regular pizza, a bowl of fresh stawberries and blueberries, and a milk shake. I met my water quota too. Have a wonderful evening, everyone! See you tomorrow! Oh, I almost forgot to share my oldest daughter's good news: she bought a car! We looked at it yesterday (it was our neighbor's from up the road) and we decided it was a good car for her, so she paid for it tonight. I'm so excited and happy for her. She worked (and continues to work) hard for the money. She works in our local mall, at a pretzel place, and she is a good saver when it comes to her paychecks. I'm a proud mom of both her and our younger one as well (our girls are 16 (she'll be 17 in September) and 13 (she'll be 14 in November). Just wanted to share! See ya..... |
